Hey! I'm a new addition to the trans-veteran community :) Your videos have been super inspiring and reassuring, so thank you for them! Just as a mention for any other vets who might be reading this or watching these, another source for us can actually be the VA. I plan to do that with someone outside the VA). I'd assume that's not true for every VA clinic, but it's worth checking out for anyone who could use those services

Starting off, your voice is lovely and you look amazing! Passing the good vibes! Anyways, I am just starting my transition and I totally get the confusion. I am not, at this time, going as the new name my mother chose for me. My family has been so supportive. My brother is the exception in which he started to mourn the "male" me. Also, anytime he asks and it is something revolving around my journey he doesn't want to talk about it but he asks about everything! Like "what is your endocrinologist appointment for?" I have to tell him you don't want to talk about it so drop it, lol! Other than that he gets it that I will still be technically the me he knows on the inside, just different on the outside. My BFF, who is a guy I have known from highschool and is like a brother, told me my outside doesn't change our friendship in the slightest. My son, who is 21 now, is fine with it. It was his half-sister, also transitioned, who finally inspired me to finally come out. So, at this time, I am in a positive state. Much love to you chica! *hugs*
Good explanation of the differences, you have definitely done your homework, sounds great. For years the lower pitch has helped me with patient control and patients that have lost their upper frequencies of hearing. It does take work, but most individuals can accomplish voice feminization. Thank you for your efforts in the videos.
I'm new to yr channel so apologies if I'm repeating comments. Your voice is fine. As we get older, our voices lower don't forget, when we're in conversation, our voices are lower. Your voice is completely normal I feel. Now you can be who you are, high voice, low voice, what ever you've been given to use in many different situations. 😃😃
So true that practice, practice, practice is key with voice training. My voice isn't where I want it but I definitely worked hard early transition (and got lazy with it as time went on and I became more confident in my own skin)
I am so glad that I found you on TH-cam! I am enjoying your videos and look forward to more of what you want to share with us. I deeply support you and wish you every success!
I so agree with your thoughts here, you can achieve it via your own mind. Practice is such a good idea. And like repeating girls dialog on TV or Radio helps as well. You are so inspiring us all on this journey! Frequency is just one thing and maybe stressed too much by beginners, there's the range, and variations and facial expressions etc., even the speed at which you talk, slowing down speeding up, even hand gestures, etc.. all subtle part of the message. Seems to me that for each person MTF here, at least a portion of your prior range overlaps with a woman's range though not all of it (maybe 50% who knows) and its that part of your range you can work and talk in and expand.
Girl you're absolutely amazing!!! Don't feel self conscious about your voice, if I didn't know you were transgender I would swear you were a natural born female. You go girl
Rachel, I realize I am a bit late to this video, as I *just* found your channel on TH-cam, but I wanted to say as another transgender woman 2 months into transition, you are super inspiring! Honestly, you really surprised me when you mentioned singing constantly on the way to and from work. I apparently have a very close to 'passing' voice, and there is not a single day that goes by that I am not singing the entire drive. Thank you so so much for the insight, and the inspiration you spread through your channel!
I transitioned in 1993 and even had voice surgery but it's really slipped badly over the last 10 years. It's good to see how your voice has changed, gives me inspiration to try and improve mine xx
Your positive energy makes me want to see these videos over and over againnn, thank you sosososo much for keeping on with the channel and I hope you had a great Easter day!
Rachel, ,we were in the USAF at different times, but we both started at good ole Lackland AFB. Based on your looks, your voice, your comfort level. like Albie, I would not be able to tell you were ever a guy. The only way I knew was from your initial videos. I consider myself in the transition. I am letting my hair grow and trying to figure out how the heck to develop a feminine voice. I probably have more makeup than many women. I have not started HRT, but my waist has dropped by an inch and my hips have increased to 35 inches. I have started leg adduction, abduction in the gym. I already do Romanian Deadlifts, Squats on a machine, glutes on a machine, and Deadlifts. My eating plan is clean. OMG, I adore your hair and nails! I haven't come out yet, except to a few safe people. I feel depressed masquerading as a guy. Even in the gym, I no longer feel like "one of the guys'. I am in a relationship as Becca.
Your voice is enviable and very natural sounding. I've often heard that estrogen for MtF trans folkx doesn't have any effect but I can't help but think (and agree with you and your experience) that it should have at least a little effect. The vocal chords being muscle tissue, I would think would experience at least some effect from estrogen that would help in sounding more feminine. Of course much of sounding more feminine comes from resonance and not pitch so maybe it doesn't. I have a lot of anxiety about my voice. And although I've been practicing and trying for about a year and a half, I feel like I still have a lot of practice and work to do. Maybe I don't... friends tell me I sound fine but I guess dysphoria is a bitch that way right.
I learned a new manicure hack. Nail Saloons are too expensive. I bought clear, glue on nails. I filed my natural nails, applied gorilla glue, put on the appropriate size artificial nail, held for 10 seconds. Then I applied another artificial nail, hence doubling each nail so they won't chip or break. I applied OPI base, then 3 light coats of polish, letting each layer dry. I applied Sally Hanson hardener, then applied Sally Hanson Hard As Nails. My nails look great!
Just finished watching one of your vids and macaroni you were a good looking dude and now a beautiful woman. Good on you for fighting for your life and future to be happy!
I spent something close to 2 years working in my voice with a professional speech therapist and my voice isn’t as good as yours. I do well in person, but over the phone is a tough spot. It’s about 50/50, and while I still work on it I’ve come to terms with my voice as it is.
You’re gorgeous & sound natural ! I myself is gender-fluid I’d love to learn to feminize my voice to use on days i feel like a woman but I’m afraid to because i fear it’ll stay like that permanently & won’t be able alternate between male & female voice frequencies.
You are so right about the range of voices that men and women can have. I always think of Kathleen Turner when I think about this. She has a very deep voice, but it is clearly feminine (and some would call it downright sultry too). I had a roommate in college and his voice was quite high pitched. On the phone he was often mistaken for a woman if he just said 'hello'. But very quickly it was clear that he was male.
Indeed how we speak greatly affects how our voice gets gendered. Great metaphor with bodybuilder and gymnast - 'speaking habits' should be changed. As for the video request: could you maybe make a video about your coming out or maybe 'before-after' with regards to your hobbies, music taste etc - has anything changed, how?
Last few weeks I am so relaxed and started to sing in the car too. Also with the funny voices :D I experienced some changed softer and more feminine. I'm a bus driver and to talk to my passengers more feminine now feels so freaking good 😁
Hi Rachel thank you for this video and also the previous ones, i understand what you say i hate my voice, its very androgeneous, but its not at the point i want. I want to sound more feminine but its hard to maintain specialy if i have to speak more louder. One of the things i strungle the most is my body hair i was a human bear, i almost have 1 year on transition and still have hair, doing laser in my body for a long time. I see you and other girls on the internet and i feel iam so diferent during my transition maybe due to medication….since here in Portugal is a bit diferent from the USA. Sometimes its hard to noticed i cant change so much and be more feminine like i dreamed but i still have a long road to go. Thanks for sharing your experience you bring hope to others. Take care and kisses!
First of all I want to say that you're absolutely beautiful. I love your voice and how you carry yourself. You seem like a fun person to be around, too! I know my videos are shit and I have some things I could learn from you lol. Do please continue uploading, I eagerly await your new videos :) It's a bit too late for you to do hormone updates I believe, but life updates are good and clothing hauls and tips and makeup stuff lol. Heck, whatever you want! This was a good video. If you feel inclined, I have some up too. My latest ones are VASTLY better than my older ones.. I had no idea what I was doing and it's sort of embarrassing but I like the evolution aspect of it all lol. Anyway, can't wait to see what you come up with next. You're beautiful, and I envy you. In a good way!
Nice and interesting video! And I love just to see you and hear you... You speak so smoothly, with beautiful expression and gestures, and sweet voice... Sometimes I watch your videos for the content of course, but other times I just get relaxed and pleased looking at your beauty, and admiring you for being so true to yourself... ❤️
4:20 - AFAB males often have to practice larynx lowering though to create a full male resonance as opposed to a "trans male" resonance. But they do get a major leg up :)
Hey there, I found that recording my voice in normal voice, then raising it alittle at a time has helped alot.im able to hold a higher voice now.i also enjoyed your view very much..as usual, looking forward to your next video..❤
You're voice is actually very feminine sounding compared to most people who have transitioned so you should definitely be more then content with it! I can only imagine quite how long you took to perfect it you really lucked out there.
I just found out about your channel and watched the video explaining your transition and what you went thro before it all. Your awesome, I respect you so much. So, I never thought about it till literally right now. I consider myself straight but, I wouldn’t be opposed to date a girl like you. Someone that transitioned, idk how to explain it and please forgive me if I’m wording things wrong. I’m kinda having a realization Ive never thought about before. Your gorgeous and such a cool person lol what is someone like me called? A guy who likes women regardless if they transitioned or not. Please forgive me again if I’m wording anything wrong. Ha.
Rachel, it's so great to see you again. I've been a fan since day 1. Keep it up. You look amazing! Any chance you're single? ;) Also, great tips to those who are coming out of their shell and embracing who they really are.
I've been talking to my school counsellor and I've known this for quite a long time ever since I was 11 I'm 17 now I've always felt like I was in the wrong body like I was misplaced but I always knew what I wanted to be it's hard to explain though basically I want to be a girl because that's what's going to make me happy and if people think I'm a freak then they can go ahead
My brother when he was going through puberty and I guess he wanted his voice to be deeper faster so he purposely made his voice super deep and now that he is 25 his voice is like stuck like that like he has a very very bassy voice now and it’s weird because if he like imitate somebody or something like accents he can make it higher so I get what you’re saying about the voice thing btw ur very beautiful be blessed! Ok take care.
Don't worry I shut my eyes as I listened to this video.......You've done an amazing job on your voice......You sound more feminine than many women I've been in contact with......If I had first listened to your voice without seeing your video I would never be able to tell the difference......That's because you are a women....Meant to be.
Your voice is lovely. Very convincing as female. I am a speech language pathologist---but my work is mostly in the public schools. Not clinical settings. Have you worked with a speech language pathologist on your voice?
You are really gorgeous. Very pretty smile. To me. Your voice sounds amazing. Really feminine. Actually the way you explained it makes alot of sense. Estrogen softens the looks of many things. including muscles. Redistributes fat. It would make alot of sense that it would soften the sounds of your voice atleast a little. because it would soften change the diaphragm. BTW love your nails.
Singing coaches will tell you to practice singing as high as you can without injuring yourself and to do so regularly in order to extend you range. I would imagine that something like that could be achieved with one's speaking voice. As for procedures, There is a doctor in South Korea who has developed a procedure that he has been doing for probably over a decade now and it is minimally invasive, a big improvement over conventional surgery with a faster recovery time, less pain and far greater success rate. It's also not cheap. Between the procedure, traveling and hotel costs it'll set you back about $15,000 give or take. I watched one video a few years ago that a trans woman did to show the results. Her before voice sounded like a cross between Johnny Cash and James Earl Jones. Thirty days after the procedure her after voice sounded like Brittany Spiers at 17. She said she went from being afraid to open her mouth after people get a look at her to being afraid to let people see her after they talk on the phone because she sounds way younger than so people get the idea of a young girl talking to her on the phone. Not a bad problem to have if you ask me. I'm 60 and I'd settle for sounding like a 25 year old dude..
I would just like to start off by saying you're Voice is very soft and soothing. I am not long in my own journey but one of the most important things for me is to get my voice more feminine. but I am very scared because I can't get a picture in my mind on how I work on it. I'm wondering do you have any idea on what I should start on it would help me a great deal.

You look so much happier compared to the old photos of you. The eyes don't lie. Thank you for sharing your videos and good luck with your future.
I transitioned in 1993 and even had voice surgery but it's really slipped badly over the last 10 years. It's good to see how your voice has changed, gives me inspiration to try and improve mine xx
I can't believe you are not anything other than a Genuine Girl with Body and Original Equipment and Parts from the Girl Factory!
Your positive energy makes me want to see these videos over and over againnn, thank you sosososo much for keeping on with the channel and I hope you had a great Easter day!
Thank you for the sweet words!
Huge respect to you for following your heart and sharing it with us all. You are a very intriguing person and I look forward to your future videos.
I think your voice is perfect. Just keep doing you because you’re doing great
You sound strong and feminine at the same time and that's total goals for me. You're an amazing woman. Much love ❤️.
I am so proud you can be you. That’s the best person to be.
Rachel, you are awesome! Love your voice!
Wow your an inspiration and very beautiful. Stay strong be you, your perfect.
You are so inspiring and beautiful and your voice is so perfect. Thank you for making these videos!
This really supports me, thank you so much for the advice!!
hearing you, and your journey, make me truly joyfull.
You are an inspiration! Thank you for the videos!!!
I just discovered I am trans and your videos popped up in my suggestions. Thank you for being an inspiration and even total goals. Keep being awesome!
You are beautiful, your voice is beautiful, feminine and natural. You are a beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing your story. 💖
That's a great idea! Thank you 😊
I love that you're making videos! You're voice is super cute! Much love!!
I think your voice is lovely! I'm jealous
Last few weeks I am so relaxed and started to sing in the car too. Also with the funny voices :D I experienced some changed softer and more feminine. I'm a bus driver and to talk to my passengers more feminine now feels so freaking good 😁
Your voice is lovely
Awwww this gives me hope ☺️👍🏼
You seem like a very nice person. I love your voice. Great job!
Your voice doesn’t sound male at all. Like it passes super well! I am happy for you.
you are so brave !!! and even tho i dont know you, im very proud ❤️
girl you go!! rockin it!!💕
First of all I want to say that you're absolutely beautiful.
Your voice is super AbFab. I appreciate the tips.
Your voice sounds amazing
You're voice is actually very feminine sounding compared to most people who have transitioned so you should definitely be more then content with it! I can only imagine quite how long you took to perfect it you really lucked out there.
One love, Rachel..... one love❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the advice. 🙂❤
Ha.
Rachael, you're a darlin'!
you got that voice down perfectly.
Rachel, it's so great to see you again. I've been a fan since day 1. Keep it up. You look amazing! Any chance you're single? ;)
Also, great tips to those who are coming out of their shell and embracing who they really are.
You so pretty 😍 & True to yourself ❤️
Godbless you always.. I'm from the Philippines
Pretty Peacock!
Your looking amazing Nice video
You have a beautiful female voice--as well as you/yourself are gorgeous too.
I love your voice.
Keep on keeping on woot woot
Hi. I'm from Texas. I like the sound of your voice.
You're very pretty and your voice sounds very female. If I heard you without seeing you I would have no doubt your were female.
Don't worry I shut my eyes as I listened to this video.......You've done an amazing job on your voice......You sound more feminine than many women I've been in contact with......If I had first listened to your voice without seeing your video I would never be able to tell the difference......That's because you are a women....Meant to be.
Lol! Nice video. Sometimes people mistake me over the phone for a woman, but that's me being silly. Good athletes analogy, by the way.
Pleeeze do more videos. I am well accepted except with my dad and sister.
I just wanted to say that I think you are a cool lady! 😎🐕
I hope you are doing well. 😊
This is lovely! Do you sing?
6:02 - ah, you do!
Your voice is lovely. Very convincing as female. I am a speech language pathologist---but my work is mostly in the public schools. Not clinical settings. Have you worked with a speech language pathologist on your voice?
Oh wow thank you! Nope, self taught and practice
Your voice is spot on a actually
Not gonna lie, I kinda want to see a video of you singing in the car now. Seriously though, I could listen to you talk all day.
You sound great, Look Amazing, just by yourself,Please stay safe.
I would just like to start off by saying you're Voice is very soft and soothing. I am not long in my own journey but one of the most important things for me is to get my voice more feminine. but I am very scared because I can't get a picture in my mind on how I work on it. I'm wondering do you have any idea on what I should start on it would help me a great deal.
i only recently found out i was trans, and im utterly afraid of allot of things. how did you cope with those fears
