Capital one started off as a 1k limit. After a long credit history with them I got recently got approved for line increase of $100.
WOW $100!!! 😆😆😆
That's unfriendly 🤨
Yeah out of spite I give them no spend except bonus. They don’t deserve anymore/
And you were lucky to get that!
Maxed out my cap 1 platinum at 500$ 2 years ago. Approved for quicksilver this January at 750$ CL and 6 months later got an automatic 1500$ increase with quicksilver for a total 2250 CL as of now.
Navy Fed = $25k on my first card with them!
American Express = They give 3x your limit CLI increases!
I started with navy federal secured cards. Once I graduated the increase my credit limit to 2k, applied for the Amex card and got 6500 and then applied for the more rewards visa and got 15k with a 680 credit score and no collections
Navy Federal, Amex, Chase, Citi & Wells Fargo, Capital One, Apple Card, Discover, Us Bank & Bank of America, Synchrony and Barclays
I've been with Discover since 2015. I think starting limit was $1,600 or $1,800. Now I'm at 11,000.
I was just approved with them a couple of weeks ago for 5000 with a 710 fico. I'm still waiting on my card though, lost in the mail I guess..
yeah i had a card with 1800 limit, i applied for a new one, they gave me 6,000, then a month later i got a credit limit increase on my original card from 1800 to 4600.
Discover started me with 11k 2 years ago. Only increased 500 since although I use the card frequently and pay balance in full.
@@S5King7 maybe cause you started with 11k. That's pretty good for a starting limit.
@@ga5234 yeah could be. I made a couple big purchases though and went to about 70 percent of my limit. During that time my credit score was negatively impacted, so I really want a higher limit.
Capital One is notorious for bucketing. When I started rebuilding back in 2017, I got a QS1 and a Platinum I upgraded to a QS. The QS1 slowly increased for the first two years but now it's stuck. The QS I've only received two increases with that last one for a whopping $250.
Hate capital one, only 600 limit. but thank you for the vid been waiting for this one.
Yeah cap one is complete bullsh|t-they keep texting me about my missing payments from my bank accounts fraudulently closed by the government, since I’m taking Biden down-check my profile & PLEASE share with EVERYONE you know 🙏🏽
yea cap1 sucks for increases and product changes. I recommend against them.
just hit the 6 month mark and they bump me up $300 so now $1300 but @proudmoney how long intill you can product change again is there a wait on that or something?
@@I..cast..fireball maybe your luck my luck been good with them only been 6 months started with 1k today got 1.3k now and was able to product change aswell
They gave me 1,200 for my Walmart MasterCard credit card. I don't have Issue for that but is very low compared to Penfed or other cards I've applied for
navy fed started me at 12k while I was in boot camp and over the last 5 years has gone up to 27k
Discover Card will give high credit limits gradually as mine started $2500 1st yr, $3600 2nd yr, $4400 3rd yr and now currently $9000. Last December after gardening for 2yrs, I applied for my first Amex card BCE and straight up giving me $6000. Then got Chase Flex $4500. As you said Adam these companies pretty much give out good credit limits starting out.
- yup, discover has been very good to me.
LD what was your income/credit score if you don't mind i hopefully going to graduate and hoping i get something juicy
I’m 21
Amex everyday is at 20k
BOA at $5700
Apple Card 7250
Capital one 600
I do have 3 credit cards with NFCU
Visa 5000,Master card 8500,Navy Amex 20000 and all that was with a fair credit scores a couple years ago.
Did you have to slowly increase your limit or were you granted 20k for navy?

Here are my highest to lowest limits with each bank:
Credit Unions ($25k - 30k)

I never would of thought they would give limits like that, especially with what you said you had in there before you applied. I always avoided a credit card with them thinking the limit wouldn’t be that wonderful really. I also just assumed it was best to go with the big named companies. Looking like I was wrong.
@@Mr-Wade - yup highest limits are with credit unions. They are much more liberal with lending

I’m at 12k with discover and Ive never even updated my income since I was in college a few years back (30k). I would just get emails saying I qualified fir credit increases. And never even took them until recently lol. Credit score 800
Just want to thank you for all the effort that you put into your content, it’s been a big help to me and many others! I’ve been anti credit cards until recently because of life changes and realized how much they can play an intricate part in saving you money with a better credit score. It would be nice to see a video on how having multiple cards with a balance paid in full every month but still show a balance on your credit report can help improve your credit score by increasing your payment history/percentage. Could be a false premise on my part but do believe it has helped increase my payment history.
Hey
Chase now applies the 5\24 rule to credit line increases. So if you're above 5\24 your CLI application is automatically denied. Spread the word and help prevent wasted inquiries.
Screw Chase
@@Zeus0886 okay
4:19 No, no, no, no! Do NOT do that a lot, Ask Sebby did that, too. Then AmEx had him do the dreaded financial paperwork for all his accounts! Note: if you don’t do the paperwork they close all your accounts!

What? That's ridiculous 😂😂😂
Nice!
Wow, my limit is nowhere near that, and my credit limit is the 700s. I'm not complaining though, because Penfed gave me the highest limit I've ever had by far. Nobody else comes close to it.

NFCU Flagship Visa 29K credit limit; Best bank & Credit Union!! Hands down!!
Good call Adam, in my experience American Express has been more generous then Chase.
My first chase credit card was the sapphire preferred and I got $17,500 credit limit. Also, I’d like to make note that I was only 22 at the time. This was my 5th credit card.
Is there 0% APR the first couple months?
@@ninjaboyne Bot for for the sapphire you need the unlimited flex or unlimited freedom those are good card btw 5% tops on rewards with 0 APR for 15 months
0 annual feee
The other reason why dylan got 17.5k credit limited is because that card you pay a fee every year for it
And i highly doubt he got approve for that card because chase has a rule 100% declined if you have 5 account with 24 months at 22 years old i highly doubt that
The discover card is my first credit card and I got a 2k credit limit with 638 credit and that’s good since I’m only 19
Cut that shit. CCs are bad.
Another great video. I can’t imagine how hard it is to make these videos since there are so many banks, cards, and variables. Proud Money is my go to channel for credit information.
Thanks, appreciate the compliment! 🙏
My experience with Apple was the same (5k starting) more than any other card I started with. About a 720 credit score all across. 65k a yr
Fidelity 24,500. Started at 19,000
Discover 7500
Amex business gold. No set limit
Wow MW. My jaw is on the floor.
Fidelity gets u a high limit - especially when u have an investment account with them...
I started out at 13K with a 725 score...
Discover started me at 5K.
Amex first card limit was nothing to write home about. Second card under a year later is now my biggest credit limit of all my cards 🥳.
Same started with like $2000 on blue cash preferred now at 3500 after 2 years. Then this past June I got approved for their gold card with npsl but pot of $15000
Navy Federal by far is the best in generosity. I've been with them since 2005. I started with my very first card at 5K. Fast forward today my limit is 27K. No, I don't use it but it's always great to have because life does happen.
2005 - 2023 and 27k your limit ? Something not right
What’s wrong with that information is that he doesn’t have a Navy Federal card 20 years and his credit limit is only 25,000?
I have USAA card with a $5000 limit.. But I have car and rental insurance with them as well. My First card with them. it's ok 3x dinning 2x on gas and grocery's and 1x on everything else. I recently approved for that card in June.
Usaa is definitely the place to be wish I could join
Chase Sapphire Reserve 25.8k , Chase Freedom Unlimited 9.9k same month.
Damn, 10k on unlimited? what was your credit score
That is awesome on freedom unlimited.
In which order were you approved?
@@Mr_Banker222 - did they make you prove income and what was credit score ?
Sebby did the same thing with the amex spending limits years ago. If (you) try the limits too many times, it will shut down and trigger a review. I was cringing as you were explaining it 😬
I am fearless! 😃
I’ve had my Wells Fargo card for 5 years, asked for an increase multiple times. Every single time they say no, stuck at $300 limit while every other card I have is over 2k highest 4500.
- id close that acct. go elsewhere
It depends on your income. They contact Social Security so they know how much your income is. The higher the income the higher the credit limit. If your income is high contact them to see why they declined an increase.
@@docsays If he doesnt have many accounts it may not be good to close it . But maybe minimize it and get a better main card.
Capital One is similar with a secured card stuck at $500 after 5 years! It will not upgrade, so I dropped the ultimatum, upgrade or cancel from my wallet! I will update on Nov 20, 2021.
Wells Fargo is hilarious. 8 years, $400. Discover 6 years, $8500.
My highest ones are American Express, BB&T, US Bank, and Barclays.
I don't have a single card under $10k limit. I work hard to make sure any new cards get used pretty exclusively for the first 90 days to get any welcome bonus but show the issuer Im reliable and can use high limits and pay back. Then request an increase between 60-90 days of opening. Amex I asked 2.5x what I started with and I've been approved twice now for 2.5x what I started. Love my delta card. My apple card I didn't get to select the increase they just gave me what they thought was appropriate. which Im fine with. My Amex cards are pretty much all I use now though. Delta Platinum & Business Gold Card.
Discover increased me automatically from 1500 to 2300 after 4 months, and then to 3300 after about a year total. Admittedly there was a hefty income increase between 2300-3300
Certainly agree with you on NFCU as well as the rest of your list…. The top 3 have been very good to me. PNC is about the relationship, another one that has been great to me!
Just got csp with $12,800 SL. C1 quicksilver $3200. Amex delta gold $3000. Platinum and gold $30,000 through check your spend power. CFU $2000 which never got any CLI after 5 and half years
I am scare to get CFU because of that. I heard they start really low and rarely increase the limit.
Why isn't discover up there Got a 20k plus limit
It is at 8:26
Navy Federal gave me $1000 limit. With a 840 fico 9 score unbelieveable.
I feel you, chase gave me a $900 limit with a score of 776.
Wow, all i ever hear is big credit lines from them.

seems they have hard coded in that platinum cards must have shit limits. is that what you had? They also are shit about allowing product changes. Try to offer people with platinum the quicksilver one which is 1.5x for $95 AF which sucks.
Capital One has the Platinum card reserved primarily credit building/rebuilding, hence they don't go crazy with the credit lines. However, they will offer you a better card like the Quicksilver as an addition but not raise the limit on the Platinum.

I got my first chase card approval a couple weeks ago and I only have about a year of credit history but chase gave me a 3100 dollar credit limit for the Disney Visa rewards card which is higher than I expected. That savings account I have with chase I bet played a role in that. Can't wait to start using the card and building up those rewards

Good job
I started out with discover with 600$ then now they gave me increase to 2000k after paying my debt. I look forward for their increase limit.
Chase has been stingy as hell to me, which is why I canceled my Freedom Unlimited. US Bank, on the other hand, has treated me very well. Amex too...
Freedom unlimited is literally the best card out there… even if you didn’t have a high limit you get the most perks and percentage back with no anual fee
Absolutely! Chase bank has been so cheap with me… I have been with them for 14 years started out $2000, the card has been upgraded through the years Chase Slate and Chase freedom unlimited. I have had two increases in all these years $300 many moons ago and $300 some years back. Last year I applied for the Chase freedom flex and they gave me $2800, I expected a higher limit since my credit score was in the high 790s and my other credit cards have higher credit lines. I have been banking with Chase Bank for at least 15 years! American Express has been a lot more generous with me. I don’t even want to use my Chase Bank card, I refuse to close it because it will affect my credit age.
Great video! This is really important to know if you’re struggling with your credit utilization rate.
Penfed gave 7500 as a starting limit the I requested an increase and they increased it to 10000
I recently jumped on the Capital One it being the first card I figured I'd go with a company thats pretty lenient they gave me 10k to start my credit card lifestyle. I've got 2 loans (paid in full) and a line of credit that I've had for over 6 years. It may have been possible to get something else, but doing a bit of research and being what feels like hard stuck since I'm a gm of a fast food chain I figured if my bills can be paid by this I will be able to redeem cashback to feel like im not in between a rock and a hard place.

Which cap one card?
You need to talk about Chase removing their preapproval page and now all of a sudden people are being approved 6/24, 7/24 even 8/24, don’t think the 5/24 rule apply anymore.
- have any data pts for those claims? Only exceptions to 5/24 i see online are when people apply in branch & sometimes get lucky.
You have any data points? I’d like to see if this is true because I want the chase freedom flex but Im way over 5/24 in about 6 months I should be more than good… also I just opened a chase cc about 1 month ago and got my lowest credit limit at about 2,300…

I got $25000 on my first navy federal credit card
At 53 years old, I finally decided to get some credit cards for the sole reason of getting my credit score as high as possible. I have started out with Capital One Savor and Chase Prime Visa and pay them off when my balance gets to 15% of available credit(or every month, whichever comes first). I want to add one or two more cards to get my credit limit up. Here's my question- Should I take a certain amount of time to build a good history with these first two cards BEFORE applying for additional cards? Would waiting give me a better chance at getting a higher limit on any additional cards? Would jumping the gun result in me being stuck at lower limits for a longer period? Great content, by the way.
I don't know about Chase, but I hear they don't really give increases like that. Capital One is ok, but it's a waste of time trying to figure them out. They will almost always come up with a reason to say no, no matter what you do.

I put $65,000 per year on every credit card application I've put in and Navy Federal gave me $45,000 as a starting credit limit... So estimate out from there.
a question: does business credit cards count against you when it comes to the 5/24 rule?
It does not
Hate my Capital One cards. I have 2 cards with them, quicksilver for 4 years is only $1200 and walmart is 2k. I ask for increases but they deny. Mid 700's credit score with no derogatory items. I pay my cards in full and never carry a balance. I have opened an account with Navy Federal and plan to get the secured card and secured savings loan to build a relationship then hopefully they will approve me for something decent, 15k would be nice.
Agree CAPITALONE is hard to deal with 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
My first card was a Capital One card, 14 years ago, $1,500 and it still $1,500 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe try having them increase your limits you can do it with their website
I apply for my capital one silver on 3/1 with only 1000 secured card i got 8 years ago
No loans ever on my account, maybe 4 total inquiry boomed i got approve for 10k on 30k income + 500 rent
What is the ratio of total credit line based on annual income. Is it 10% of annual income 20%? What is the rule of thumb on this?
- thats a good question, for personal cards I usually get between 7% - 13%, so 10% is probably a good average.
PenFed is unusual in that any of their credit card products allowing the user to do a "Balance Transfer" anytime you desire. Today, a year from now, or six years from now. 3% transfer fee.
I went from 3.5K at the opening 13 months ago, today it's 10K. (at my request). Lower interest than Navyfed 4 sure on auto and personal loans. They always answer the phone, all USA employed.
How did you get it increased, and how was your regular usage for the 13 months..??
@@mike-uw6wt Please 4Gve me 4 not being more clear. I have the Cash Card, they immediately give every Card holder a 2% Actual cash back the next day 2 apply to your C.C. balance or checking account gift cards, etc. TY
X1 credit card - gave me $24,500 starting credit limit. It's now my highest limit card. They beat Navy Fed... although, I love Navy Fed. I have 2 Navy Fed cards... Flagship Rewards - $13,000...... and More Rewards - $15,000.
Definitely agree with what you're saying with Discover. Capital One was my first issuer and despite a perfect payment history and never carrying a balance, they still outright refuse to increase my credit limits on either of the cards I hold. Got approved for a chase card and they only gave me 2.5k. Applied for the discover it a few weeks later and they surprised me with 8k. I will also say Capital One is ran by robots, the CS agents have no say in anything. Getting a product change or a credit line increase is like pulling teeth with them. If the algorithm doesn't like you then you're SOL. Hope my experience with discover will be better. Maybe it's just that I'm bitter about my past experience with C1 over the past three or so years but Discover actually giving me a card that aligns with my credit history left a good first impression for sure.
Got approved for 7500 by the Apple Card, 750 score and a 3 year old credit age.
Thanks for the video 🥰🥰👋🏼 I recently got Citi for $600 😃
That's so rude of them
@@MichelMawon4982 I understand their side. I don't have a long credit history...
Not Wells Fargo
Lol
Not Capital One
Has anyone put a down payment on a house from credit card?
Cash Advance... but that's a really bad financial move.
@@Phizzo4real you just refinance immediately afterwards
Why would someone do that?
You can't really do that anymore. Lenders require the down payment to be in your account for 60 days and most lenders and sellers aren't going sit around and wait for 60 days to pass. If your able to take that big of a cash advance on a card the interest would be extremely high and not worth it anyway.
I received 10,000 on my first credit card
Capital One started me out at 5000 then jumped me to 8000 after 6 months
C one has been good to me.. started me at 500 with very little history bumped me up 250 after a few months.. then another 3000 after a year and a half..
@@ga5234 I can't complain, C1 has been good to me as well🤔
@@MER1CA_1st nice.. they helped me build credit after starting the secure route with my local credit union.. really want their savor card, might wait till next year.
Thanks for the video!
Wells Fargo is trash started at 300 in 2015 and now 2022 1,250 and I have a 850 credit score
That sucks
Maybe try updating your income in the app if things have changed.
Yes, always update your income, higher every 6-7 months... I started as $50,000 with Capital One, and every 6 months I would add $2500 to it and in 4 years, I went from a $3500 limit to a $12,500 limit.
you are not using your credit to the max. No reason for them increase your credit line.
Great video! Before watching it I was thinking Navy Federal and American Express based on my own experiences! Lo and behold you had them at number 1 and 2 also! 😄
I did the same thing with the spending power tool. 🤣🤣
