Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix 1978 Österreichring Zeltweg

Unfortunately it was a rainy day on the "XVI Großer Preis von Österreich", and we could only see a small portion of the track. What was shocking and unforgetable though, was the incredibly loud and offending sound of the engines as the cars sped past us only a few metres away. Nearly everybody around us, like ourselves, were rooting for Niki Lauda, but eventually he had to retire, and the race was won by Ronnie Peterson. Who would have thought at that time, that less than a month was back from the Swede's life...?
The night before the Grand Prix we went to see Star Wars for the very first time in a nearby cinema. Although it was synchronised into German language, and therefore we hardly understood a word, we were absolutely fascinated by the movie.
