    I have just started watching your boat series and I thank you for not throwing in the towel when things got a little tough with moisture problem .I'm about to go on a sailboat hunt and your channel has given me the tools to what to look for when buying. A boat .once again thank you for continuing with your channel 👍.

    Enjoyed the video. Really liked the montage of your building the lid.

    The great thing about subscribing is you pop back up on radar as soon as you post. The great thing about your blog is that we know you are out there working on your job and your dream. Just glad your finding time for Wanda.
    P.S. still working on my plan to ship my dream to the UK. If it is going to happen it is going to be 2023. Then like you I will be working on my own dream project. PM life :-)

    Richard, you astound me with your attention to detail and patience. The fuel tank alone is a splendid piece of engineering design and practical skills. You also find time to create the most detailed videos, which in itself requires skill and patience. I am hoping that you could please forward to me the dimensions of the original stainless tank, just the plan view of the top of the tank would be sufficient please. I am looking forward to the next episode, good luck with everything. Jeff

      Hey Jeff, really sorry for not getting back to you with the tank dimensions before. I will be seeing Wanda this weekend and will measure up for you

    You are flattered we are still here? We are just a bunch of boat geeks who want to see Wanda back on the water no matter how long it takes! As always, very nice work.

    Aye, this is going nice! You really have developed in both tool and material handling quite some skills. Keep it up 🛠

    What a really nice fuel tank. Hallberg Rassy should be proud on what you made.🤪

    old skool watcher here, every time i see an over priced 352 for sale i think of all the work you are doing, then tell em their dreamin, that tank is looking really good, i was torn on epoxying in the stainless bolts, but i figure it will last as long as the tank will last so no probs, the only other thing i would have done is have double the amount of bolts around the gasket, just going of the bolt spacing on mine. merry xmas

      Ooh you've got me worried now! I thought the spacing was tight enough but to be honest it was just what looked right. I will be doing a test soon.

    I would propably laminate afew fastening points for cargo straps in the bilge for fastening the tank. (If I wanted it to be removeable.) If I wanted it to be more "solid", I would do the same but use stainless flat bars.
    If I wanted it to stay there permanently... Yeah you guessed right. A bucketful of Sika. :-)

    Great to see the progress on the tank Richard, all the best for the New Year. I've always wondered, how did you get Wanda back from the Caribbean, with all the damage you document in the early videos, or was she already back in the UK?

    • @aboatcalledwanda6925
      @aboatcalledwanda6925  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Gilbert, I brought her over on a flat rack container - basically a 40 ft open container that has the same footprint as a normal chipping container and can be stacked (must be the top container. The open sides and no roof allow for a sailboat on a cradle to be mounted to it.

      @@aboatcalledwanda6925 Very interesting, not heard of that before. Did they have a size or weight limit, my boat is 44 ft.

    • @aboatcalledwanda6925
      @aboatcalledwanda6925  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gilbertmarshall7957 should be ok as the flat rack goes on top of the stack - so the bow and beam can extend beyond the footprint. Take a look for flat rack container and shipping and get some quotes?
