  • CORN SILAGE HARVEST 2020 near Louisville Ohio
Video I shot at Broadview Farms LTD near Louisville Ohio as they chop their 2020 corn crop for their dairy cow herd. In this video you will see them chop the silage in the field, haul it back to the farm where they are loading the corn silage into the bagger. Also towards the ends of the video is some footage of a cow getting milked by a Lely Astronaut Robotic Milker.
    Equipment in this video is
John Deere 7280 R Tractor pulling a Deere 3975 forage harvester with a Dion F64 head.
John Deere 4020,4240 and 4440 tractors pulling Gehl BU960 & 970 and a Dion forage boxes.
At the silage bag is a John Deere 7400 tractor hooked to a Versa Bagger model ID891
Lots of action of the entire process from the ground and from the sky.
All music and sound effects are from MacBook iMovie or TH-cam Audio Library.
Thanks for watching and feel free to comment below.

What a comparison, to watch a small scale operation vs. another video I watched of three 12 row choppers filling one truck. That's 36 rows at once vs. 5. It's good to see the 30 year old equipment still in use.

Wish there will still more of these small to midsize farms left. Yes its cool to see all the big toys, but miss seeing the smaller farms getting it done. Now a days farming is less a way of life and so much a business.

That chopper operator deserves props, not a bit on the roof of any of those wagons. No wasted feed! Some of the self propelled operations miss enough to feed a lot of cattle. Excellent, just simply excellent all around!

Hey I know this is totally random but I figure you might know, since you travel and this video was posted in NE Ohio where I live I had a question I was hoping you maybe able to help with. I’m trying to restart a farm that’s been down since 2013 from a fire my family never rebuilt there is some equipment left and buildings but I was wondering if it was possible to get agricultural loans or grants to start farming and if so how and where would I go about finding that information? Sorry for the random long question I just really want this farm to get started and everything is so expensive

Good video shots Mike the landscape of that country looks beautiful of seeing other farmers near by down the road which where am from farmers like that down the road are classified as "neighbors" where other farmers as friends helps each other out if or when needed. Other than that again good video.👍

My husband traveled this area in seed sales. He is still friends with Campbell Bros. of Alliance.
Jacob Schillig, do you have family history from Kinsman. Oh.....
My folks were friends with Rose &

What a very attractive, nicely kept small farm. That would make a very attractive subject for a model, in the drone shot at 1:54, perhaps as scenery for a model railroad layout. I know there isn't a railroad going past there, but in your imagination there could be.

I have yet to drive a silage harvest with the carts like this.
I've done the open topped ones where you stay married to your cart, blown in with a Cluas in the field then uploading into a blower.
And I have drive straight trucks andbsemisnthat pumped in a drive over bunk.
    I enjoy working the harvest.

Mike, another great video. These folks have always done a nice job on their farm. I was born & raised in the area. Very familiar with Witmer's. I grew up with 2 old Minneapolis-Moline U models and a UB model. Then in 1967 we graduated to a G-1000 Moline with a new Moline 7-16” plow with automatic resets. That tractor even had power steering! Can you believe that? We didn't even have an umbrella for it for the first couple of years. It didn't take long in our clay soil and we took the 7th bottom off. Enough reminiscing. Keep 'em coming, Mike.

I left the farm many years ago cause I couldn't get the family on board for milking more cows. Our big tractors back then was a D17 Allis Chalmers and a DC Case. They said why do you need two high horsepower tractors. I'm lookin at the tractors in this video and nothing is under a hundred horsepower or close to it.

Its nice too see medium size farms doing well--at least as far as I can see. It also amazes me that the John Deere 4440 is one of the most popular and well-liked tractors after all these years. From what I have seen this tractor was an instant hit with farmers the moment it came on the market, which was back in the fall of 1978. A real nice farm and thanks for showing.

Don’t see many pull type forage harvesters around here anymore, there used to be lots of them as I worked on some of the New Holland ones at the dealership. I see why they are using those wagons but what a pain to hitch and unhitch all day long!
