- Chopping Corn Silage on a Dairy Farm near Polk Ohio
In this video I am out on a dairy farm near Polk Ohio as they are busy chopping corn silage for the family dairy herd, This farm also does custom work and later on in the video they are doing a job near Wooster Ohio chopping corn silage and filling a silage bag.
They are running a John Deere 8200 Self Propelled Forage harvester with a 676 corn head. Also run the field they are running a Deutz Fahr 6175 and Massey Ferguson 7726 tractors to pull Meyer Silage carts hauling the silage from the field to the farm. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

😎👊..I grew up with neighbors who did the silage picker behind the tractor with the silage wagon behind the picker and they also had the grain trucks..it's awesome to see farming videos like this cause that's something that's slowly going away here in the south..farming that is..

Okay, it might take a bit longer to empty the waggon
but on the other hand you don't need two or three
more traktors plus driver to compact the silage.
And if you could use these bags maybe two or three times...

Awesome silage video Mike, first time for me seeing silage put into the plastic bag silos like @ 17:15 ---- I have seen those silo bags used for grain storage a number of times in the past but not silage. Thanks and Happy New Years to you and yours and all those on here ! ✨🎊🎉

Wow you were in my area of ohio i know of him know his dad he has his equipment in jeromesville where my mom lives and he has a new holland chopper he chopped the green oats hauled to my bosses dairy farm on 511 in ashland boss has 2 farms i drive truck haul milk the man that farms my grandparents whose farm is next to my bosses farm the young family gary and his son they farm over 4000 acers on 511 planted the oats after wheat so my boss buys it for silage in fall

Great silage chopping video . Have you ever found a farmer that put the silage in a bunker . We used to several years ago and just packed it down and not covered it , it was a concrete floor and sides .
I've also seen a large farm have a bunker with a wide concrete floor and dirt sides you could unload 2 trucks besides each other . He had some spoilage but he was so large the men threw it to the side btw they had to load the truck by using a silage fork/ by hand and feed it the same way ? just wondering . Seemed different with the first part of the video filmed in Ashland Co, we are Southwest of that area near the Ashland/Richland Co. line. Amazing how much this machinery is capable of harvesting in a day.
Wow small world I live close to you grandpa from Lucas gma from perrysville dad's parents I live off of 511on 2206 he chopped green oats this fall for one or both of my bosses dairy farms with his new holland self propelled chopper man that farms my grandparents plants oats on some of wheat ground and boss buys it for silage in fall one farm in jeromesville and second dairy farm on state rte 511 I drive truck haul milk
Tell him it goes in the wagon.
In case someone wonders why forage havesters require up to 1000 HP, the sound of this footage clearly shows how power hungry chopping actually is. Would not put a wider header on this one.

I'm sure this numbers exist somewhere but I don't know for sure.
