Sophie, great video as always. I've seen so many people do this exercise incorrectly, pushing way more air than they have to. This is a fantastic vocal fold muscle isolation exercise.

This didn't help me sing the rockets red glare part

This is helpful, but my voice is just so low! I can reach a high note, and neither a low note! When on the lyrics "stripes" and "gleaming", it seems that im just breathing the last breath out. For example, breath out of your mouth untill you feel you throat and stomach get tight. But also add some noice. Then its just a quiet whisper that tightens your throat up. Thats what its like. This would help if i was high, but im afraid that i wont be able to hit the high parts! Help?!

This sounds like a register and vocal cord muscle issue. When you learn how to sing in head and mix voice, you won't be having this problem. This will help you. th-cam.com/video/DQvLyzPPbTc/w-d-xo.html

hi please I am not sure if I am male alto
or countertenor as I have usually been
classified as both….I have a tessitura
(comfort zone) of C3 to E5 which is
better said as chest voice and I can go
all the way up to D6 in my head register
and in whistle register to A6 which I am
still perfecting and I have a flexible,
    warm,rich,strong,agile and bright kinda
like a male version of naya rivera(aka
    Santana Lopez in glee) voice……
    generally
    vocal fry: C2 to C3
chest and middle voice: C3 to E5
falsetto note: F5(not so strong its light)
    head voice: G5 to C6
whistle voice: F6 to A6 (which am still
    working on)
and a total range of C2 to A6 please
what would that make me be.please
    reply soon.

Thanks for the message Siyanbola. As a commercial vocal coach who teaches pop, I do not give names to each part of the voice. These parts were initially named to organize different harmony parts in a choir. Singers, when coached properly, should be able to sing in a wide range, covering many parts of the voice.
