    I've been struggling with head voice vs. chest voice for as long as I can remember, and for my audition coming up next week for the school musical I wanted to finally get it straight. This video was perfect for that, I had even already planned to sing this song! Thank you!

      @@arianatorchic9005 The audition is tomorrow, and I'm on the tail end of a cold, making my voice more sickly and nasally, so not great. Hoping it goes away soon. Luckily I can also choose to audition the day after tomorrow.

    I'm glad I found your channel. After 10 years of being trained in classical music and then switching over to musical theater I had to research and experiment so much on my own. After teaching voice for the last 5 years, I've now transitioned to professional singing as a career again and have been wondering where to refer people who ask me for proper vocal training. Now I know :-) I've found that many teachers in our area really push the head voice only sound and that just doesn't work for musical theater these days....Thanks!

      Not good for classical singing also! Opera singing needs the full voice, needs to be powerfull, needs to break the sound of a whole orchestra. The difference between the two genres is the direction of voice projection!

    Hm what classical are you thinking about? I train with an opera teacher and she is always encouraging that sharp sound that cuts through the theatre as well as bringing chest voice in to create a mix. Singing solely in head is a no no as it sounds weak. In opera you have no mic, in musical theatre, you often have microphones amplifying you

    I finally can sing with a more powerful sound with my head voice which was kinda weak, i can reach some notes which i was not able to reach with this mixed voice(probably more head voice in it), but i wonder how can those ppl sing high notes with pure chest voice, is there some training method or they are just born to do that? Thankyou very much you are my favorite singing teacher💗

    • @1108vocalstudio
      @1108vocalstudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nichole. They are probably singing in mix voice. Not just fully chest voice. There is a sliding scale.

    • @nicoleleung3177
      @nicoleleung3177 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Sophie, I have bought your vocal primer for women and find the practice really useful, like I can sing part of your world with less tension, but I am still confused that if those chestful singers like Lea Salonga are singing in their mixed voice in high notes like until the lyric "pretending" from 3:45 th-cam.com/video/VjfmP7h3gBw/w-d-xo.html becouse I can only do those crystal voices like Christine from phantom of the opera but can never reach the powerful Eponine voice which i am aftering. Thankyou very much for your relply.

    • @nicoleleung3177
      @nicoleleung3177 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh and "know" from 3:58, cause I feel like that is probably mixed voice with 90% chest voice in it but even I tried hard to put as much as strength in my voice it only gets louder and can't get nasty enough.

    • @crystalmarie7709
      @crystalmarie7709 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nicole Leung Lea Salonga is like the mixiest singer you’ll ever hear. She never pushes her chest voice. Even her low notes are more of a head dominant mix.

    I really need your help. Your vocal tips are one of the best I could find on youtube. I am 15 and I am a male. I am a baritone. Whenever I try singing in falsetto it flips into whistle register. I can hardly ever produce a note in falsetto, but when I can, it sounds very weak and crack into whistle notes. It used to be strong and poweful. I was checking my falsetto range and I strained out an E6. Than it started breaking into whistle voice. I was curious if its just discovered whistle register so i started learning how to produce whistle notes. My voice is weakning. Please help me! Anyone! :(
