      Is the "All Metal Extruder Aluminum MK8 Extruder" compatible with the CR-6 Max? Also what order are the 725 x 640 x 691 Dimensions specified in? (Are they Height, Width, Depth respectively?)

    I saw this review before I decided to get myself a CR-6 MAX as my first 3D printer and I am still very happy with my CR-6 MAX.
    Since I enjoy tuning and tweaking stuff, have I so far done these changes to it:
    - switched to the community firmware which I think is much better.
    - replaced to extruder with creality's all metal as it is more robust, doesn't hide the feed and is easier to keep clean.
    - replaced the stock bowden tube with capricorn ptfe tube.
    - attached a Raspberry PI with Octoprint to the USB port (using a USB power blocker) on it so the printer can be controlled over wifi and the octoprint android app. The raspberry pi also has a camera so octoprint livestreamprints and produces timelapse movies.
    - replaced the stock nozzle with a hardened steel nozzle so I can print metal infused filament.
    - attached a articulated chain guide for the cable between extruder and hotend to keep the cable well above the bed.
    - attached a LED list from IKEA on the top bar so the bed has light
    It is noisy and I am considering making it more quiet. Are there any water cooling systems for 3D printers?

      Thank you! It's still been pretty solid! It's become my primary printer, and I have a bunch of print videos in the pipeline that were made with this printer. If you have the space and investment, it'll be worth it. The only obvious weakness will be if you want to focus on ABS.

      Have had mine over 6 months now James and working well. Replace the extruder with a SeeMeCNC EZR struder as soon as you have extruder trouble and filament loading and extruder performance will be much better. I have a Spool3d.ca heatbreak spool3d.ca/creality-cr6-se-heat-break/ to try high temp but have not installed yet. I print lots of structural parts and use a 1mm nozzle for strong parts/faster printing and usually use PETG with thick walls.

    loved the video quick question I have a finder also such a workhorse - how is the speed of the cr-6 max compared to the finder I need a bigger bed for my projects not so much on the height though just curious - I hear the 6 is painfully slow is this true?

    • @OMentertainment
      @OMentertainment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question! So while I can't compare directly to other printers other than the Finder, what I can say is that the speed has been completely relative to the other printing circumstances. For example, a TPU by its nature of the material has to print slower, that's true for both printers. Also, if folks are used to a tiny build volume, they're used to a max finish time, and a larger volume always means more time.
      As far as the CR-6 Max's ability to accelerate and run faster speeds, I've seen no difference between the Finder and the Max in this regard. Both machines are built sturdy in such a way that the chances of the nozzle wobbling on the plate as a result of speed are well within normal limits.
      Of course for detailed prints, the slower, the more accurate a printer tends to be but that's across the board as well. On my unboxing live video, you can see the Max in action throughout the latter half printing away with stock speeds and you can tell for yourself.
      To be perfectly honest, I've found my Max to be more accurate on prints and has taken over as my primary printer, even for smaller prints.

I love my finder so much so that It is my base line for everything i've had a FF Dreamer and sold it and a BIBO 2 also sold it i was looking at a folgertech but I think they are out of business. so for build volume I am leaning to the max or 10smart only because I'm used to the wifi with the finder and its ease of use

    Thanks for the review. My extruder stopped working a couple of months ago. It's not the motor, or the wire running to it, which leaves the wire harness or the system board. I've ordered a new board and am waiting on that.

      Sorry I am probably to late - but throw the extruder away and buy a SeeMeCNC EZ struder www.seemecnc.com/products/ezrstruder. I have used my Max a lot and it got to where I could no longer get filament through the extruder. When I took it apart to see why springs and stuff exploded everywhere so I tried the Ezstruder per web recommends. It plugs right in using the original Max extruder motor and works SOOOOOO much better. Some have had to change steps software after the change, I did not and it works fine.

    Mate, I really need your help, I've tried everywhere. What is the start and end g code for the CR 6 MAX? I'm using Cura, and the nozzle is going out of limits trying to print, and this model isn't in Cura drop down menu

    • @OMentertainment
      @OMentertainment  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure about the g code, but all anyone has done for creating a slicer profile in Cura was select the CR-6 SE profile from the drop down menu, and change the bed size. That's all I did, and it has worked without issue.
      If you're still having problems once you do that, I've found the FB group "Creality CR-6 SE, CR-6 Max, & CR-10 Smart Community" to be an invaluable resource of knowledgeable users.

    Hmmmm. I have the CR6 SE and I have had zero problems getting the filament to go from the sensor into the extruder. Mine has a handle. Granted it is not as large as the CR 6 Max. I have had ZERO printing problems using latest versions of cura since I took it out of the box. No filament bumps ever noticed. Resume after power fail only twice since I had it and it resumed fine even after an hour outage.
    But saying all that, I only used the factory firmware for a week. (have had it a year now). I installed the Creality Community firmware for the CR6 SE. Also with my Ender 3 Pro. It is much better firmware than what comes from the Creality factory. Again, I have had no problems with my smaller CR 6 printer. I do know if I get another Creality printer I will install the Creality Community firmware if available. I tried the bigtree boards with my Ender 3 and had issues and went to the upgraded Ender 3 board last year. Still use Creality Community firmware.

      the ender 3 is an entry level machine with a relatively standard build volume the cr6 max is an absolute monster of a machine. i got 1 this week still waiting for delivery. also have a ender 5 max that i'm thinking of converting to direct extruder the PTFE tube is getting short from all the clogging and i'm going to modify my cr6 also to a direct extruder when i get it. the direct extruder gives more control over the filament so helps with printing more weird filaments like TPU

    i'm lookin at upgrading from the Ender 3v2. which would you reccomend the 5 plus or the CR 6 max?

    • @OMentertainment
      @OMentertainment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bearing in mind that I have no hands-on experience with the 5 Plus, going on comparing specs, features, and price - a lot of it will depend on your needs. The Max has a larger build volume so if that is key, that makes your decision for you. If it's price, the 5 Plus is more affordable. The 5 Plus also had 20°C more max temp on the bed which would make it easier to print higher temp materials like ABS (I'd probably suggest an enclosure for either of them for ABS anyway, though). I've really enjoyed the auto-leveling feature, but the 5 Plus has BL Touch, which may be fine for you. Both have sturdy frame in their own way but the 5 Plus at least appears more sturdy overall.
      For my own personal needs, I'd choose the Max for convenience purposes and build volume. Your millage may vary though.

    • @OMentertainment
      @OMentertainment  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never worked with LW-PLA personally, so I did some research into what it's print requirements are. They all fall within what most printers are capable of printing; it seems the trick is when you calibrate the slicer settings, especially in the area of flow rate. While larger layer heights like .6mm require up to 260° nozzle temps, which is the peak temp of the stock, all the standard settings for LW is well within specs.

      Since I have never worked with the Kobra Max, I can only guess - from looking at the specs, but it appears to be a CR6 Max clone with 50mm more on the Z. For me as a person who did his first print using this printer, I think that the input methods using SD-Card and MicroUSB are not good. why not put a simple USB input for people.
    Why not let people connect to this using cables or WiFi?
    That was an issue as the SD-card reader sometimes makes me mad!, it simply does not read the card until you push the card in an out several times!
    Also, you should insert the SD card, while the card is backward! this means that the written text on the SD card do not stay on the top side of the card.

    Each side is 400 mm, therefore valume is (400 mm)³ = 64000000 mm³ or 64 liters, NOT 400 mm³... In US customary units (15,748 in)³ is equal to just a hair over 16.9 Gallons
