Launch X431 Pro TT bidirectional scan tool Discount code 82KGH9R8 amzn.to/4a4j2gd (Amazon link) I made a short follow up video with screen recorder video directly from the scan tool that will give you a better idea of what the screen looks like on this scan tool. Unfortunately I do not have an X431 pro elite scan tool in my possession to compare it with. However, according to this comparison chart, (link below) there isn't much difference between the two you mentioned. www.x431tool.com/service/launch-x431-pro-tt-vs-pro-elite-vs-x431-v-v5.0.html
This tool never becomes a brick. The tool will always function at it's current software level, even if future updates are not purchased. There is one exception to this rule, and it only includes fairly new vehicles that require the scan tool to be connected to the cloud for certain functions to operate correctly. Connection with the cloud DOES require a current subscription.... but again, this is for the newest cars. (like built within the last few years) And just to be clear, this "cloud" exception is required by the vehicle, NOT the scan tool. The rule exception is true with ALL scan tools, not just this one. If a VEHICLE requires a cloud connection, that is not fault of the scan tool's fault. So, for example, if you're working on a 2016 Chevy truck, this tool will always work, even if you do not pay for another subscription. The tool does NOT "brick". But if you're working on my 2022 KIA K5, then you'll only be able to read codes (no bidirectional) without a current subscription. Thanks for the question.
@@SlipFitGarage ok perfect just curious first time buying one did alot of research online about launch usa launch Ltd Co online and I get mixed answers some say it's good some say it works great was nervous at first to buy one but I did thanks for the reply. I work on Heavy duty trucks all the way down to automotive so I'm not a dyi person I started a business so needed something good but not something that would cost me an arm and a leg like the tool trucks do I only played with it on a couple cars and my shop truck this week I'm going to put it threw the ringer and see exactly the capabilities it has
I rarely work on diesel trucks but I can tell you this..... If the truck manufacturer has included the ability for a scan tool to reset such settings in the vehicle's computer, then this scan tool should be able to command those setting/resets/etc... No scan tool is magic. Scan tools aren't actually "doing" anything. Scan tools simply allow the human user to send command for features/functions/resets that are already programmed into the vehicles computer. For example: If you looking to reset "X" sensor, but the manufacturer did NOT include that ability in the factory software, then no scan tool on earth will be able to command that particular reset. A scan tool can not command something that does not exist in the vehicles software. So, again.... if the setting and resets are available on the specific vehicle that you have in mind, then yes, this scan tool "SHOULD" be able to do those things. This is a full bidirectional scan tool. Any true "full bidirectional" scan tool should be able to command any pre-programmed feature (from the factory) on just about any modern vehicle. I hope my answer makes sense. Sometimes I'm not the greatest at explaining things with typed words. Thanks for the question.
@SlipFitGarage okay thank you. Just asking because I've worked with alot of bosch and snap on computers and I've had a few of each fail to reset adblue counters and other such functions before. If you had to rate it out of 10 would you say it's a decent scanner ?
@@ItsJustLuke656 Well, no scan tool brand is perfect..... not only does the vehicle need to have the specific capability that you're looking for, but it ALSO has to be programmed into the scan tool software..... and some features and functions can get overlooked and not included on some scan tools. This can happen with ANY brand of tool, while working on any brand of vehicle. The only way I could verify that the specific function that you are looking for would be for me to plug into the exact same make/model that you're asking about and verify that function with own eyes..... and unfortunately I do not have any diesel trucks available for me to plug into. Yes, this is a very decent tool. A LOT of guys swear by the Launch line of scan tools. I have used the one in this video on a few cars and I have been very impressed with it. I Am personally an Autel guy, but that is only because I am most familiar with them.... not because they are any better than any other brand. The Launch X431 series of tools in one of the best selling scan tool in the world as far as I know. They are great scan tools. And the good news is.... if you buy it from Amazon, and it doesn't do what you expect it to do for you, their return policy is very good. 🙂
@@eap.productions No, this scan tool is designed for passenger cars and light duty trucks with OBD2. This does not include class 8 commercial semi trucks.
It didn't feel any slower than Autel, to me anyway. I'm still an Autel guy.... but if Autel disappeared and all I had was this Launch tool, I'd still be perfectly happy.

Just ordered this, I thought the new update gate all x431’s topology
I haven't heard that yet but it's very possible.
Are the silicone gels to snack on? 😉
I would not recommend it. lol. 😉

Can you still update the software after 2yr or does it become a brick

Would you say it's any good at resetting adblue systems and resetting NOx sensors ?

Any idea if a 2014 Volvo VNL semi would work with this? (It has 12 Volt, 16 pin ODBII) I see the TT is not compatible with their HD3 module.

To me it looks slow & definitely behind autel. Again just my opinion.
