    I will not say it enough ! The HQ method of 360 rumors is a game changer if you want to take your craft to the next level. I have already shot for big clients but in my country the competition is not fierce and people dont have enough elements to compare your work, but I feel that giving the rate I am learning, by next week I will be able to shoot for big clients world wide ! Thank you for your very explanative video. Two questions:
    1) with multi row pano head you took 8 shots (6+2 up & down) while with single row, just 4 (no up & down). Was it because different pano heads use different lenses or was it just for the sake of the demo?
    2) For a walk through (e.g. in a house) you need also a host program like Virtual Tour Pro or is there a "free" way to upload a series of 360 photos linked to one another in a continuous manner?

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks D. Totief.
      1. With single row, you are usually using a cropped fisheye lens, which has 180 degree coverage vertically, so you are already capturing the top (zenith) and bottom (nadir). No need to take separate zenith or nadir shots unless you want to take a nadir patch shot to remove the tripod.
      2. For a virtual tour, there are several websites that offer free virtual tours. For example, theasys.io is free up to 5 tours.

    • @dooxietoto
      @dooxietoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@360vroomers one more question: is there any issue with taking bracketed shots with a manual lens like Samyang? Will the camera automatically take the bracketed exposures if set accordingly?

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@dooxietoto yes manual lenses are ok. When you bracket, you keep iso and aperture constant and only vary the shutter speed. So yes manual lenses can be used for auto exposure bracketing as well.

    Hi, which is the best lens for my Nikon Z 6 to take 360 virtual tours Samyang 12mm f/2.8 or Irix 11mm f/4 or TTArtisan 11mm f/2.8 ....?I have a multi-angle pano head Rolley and Nodal Ninja 6 and the software PtGui .

      Hi Orestis. I haven't tried the Irix or TTArtisan. The Samyang 12 2.8 is a popular lens and I have used it on jobs. If you can afford the Nikon 8-15, it is better.

    • @orestisstamoulis
      @orestisstamoulis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you .... the TTArtisan 11mm is a Z mount.... the Samyang Is an F mount when you mount in Nikon Z with the mount adapter you louse a little it is not 12mm it is about 13mm - 13.5 mm and the Irix 11mm f/4 (Z mount) is not fisheye so maybe it needs more photos, not 6 maybe 18 photos. Your opinion on this because you are a veteran on 360 photography what is the best lens to buy now, I want to give the best quality, the Nikon 8-15 mm it is not Z mount and then use the mount adapter you louse the 12mm and is not f/2.8 for interiors better 2.8 I think.

      Thanks! 5DS R would be very good for virtual tours because of its high resolution. As for a monopod, it is not recommended because it is not sufficiently stable. I recommend instead a tripod. Even a modestly priced one like benro will be much better than a monopod for taking panoramic shots.

    Awesome Video! Usually with flash ambient lighting I blend manually in PS. Is this what you are doing? Like 3 bracket shot then 1 flash for fill? Every 90degree for full frame? I shoot with Sony A7RIII / Samyang 12mm fisheye 2.8 / AD200 Pro with Round Head and AK-R1 kit dome. My workflow is PS, PTGui, Topaz enhance software, then 3DVista Pro then will post on my host provider. I also use ThetaZ1 with dual fisheye plugin and Matereal for run and gun tours. I had no idea about the automated Pano head although I'm curious how it works with bracket shots and flash. I am going to take a look at those.

    I want to like this video, but there's so much that could be improved... In the beginning you repeat yourself several times. You keep mentioning that this video will be an "all you'll need" yet spend the last few minutes just advertising your own course (what you truly need). There's no cost for equipment, no actual showing of results side by side, and on a side note, 360 cameras can also use flash! But it just takes more work to edit out the flash equipment. Still a great video, but I think it's miss leading, and perhaps should be broken down into a series how to do each step. But then again I'm sure that's what your paid course is for.

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Samuel. Just to clarify, when I say all you need, I mean all you need to get started. I don't mean to share everything about my class in one video. Re results side by side, I showed them in the video. You can see them here as well: 360rumors.com/dslr-virtual-tour-faq-camera-lens-guide-virtual-tour-edge/ As for 360 cameras using flash, the problem is not editing out the flash equipment - it is triggering the flash. No 360 camera has a flash trigger. If you want to use flash with a 360 camera, you can only do it in dark conditions when you can use a slow exposure, but that is quite unusual for virtual tours. Another possibility is to use an ND filter to get slow exposure, but you will also need a much more powerful flash.

    New growth may be in the older Baby Boomer group who now refuse to carry DSLR and even mirror less cameras. I am looking now for something to take with me on future trips that will take even great videos.
    That leads me to ask can the current or near future Theta Z1 take clear videos (Not Time Lapse) of the Northern Lights?

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Dennis. I have never seen the northern lights but I read that you need an aperture of f/1.4 and ISO of around 20,000+ to be able to get a video of the northern lights. For the Z1, that would be ISO 40,000+ so no it is not possible unless you want to shoot at 6400 and push the exposure 2 or 3 stops, and it might be very grainy.

    Hi Mic, great video and very informative. Per your suggestion in a reply to another video, a I'm considering getting a DSLR (full-frame mirrorless Sony alpha A7r ii) but I'm not sure which lens to get. In your video, you said the Samyan 8mm f/3.5 is good for full-frame cameras, but when you list them, you wrote the results are "ok" for a circular fisheye but will have the lowest resolution, and the cropped circular will also be ok but better resolution for a single row pano head. I'm kinda confused, is "ok" good or just ok? I want great pics with higher resolution. Which of the 3 lenses would you suggest work best for the Alpha A7r ii? Also, I plan to buy a multi-row panning head. Thanks in advance.

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there Mickie! Samyang 8mm f/3.5 on full frame is a cropped fisheye. If you want high resolution, then look for a diagonal fisheye and use a multirow panohead. I myself like detail too so I tested over a dozen fisheye lenses to see which one was the best one, and here's a hint: the most expensive is not necessarily the most detailed. ;)

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Daniel. Shaving off the lens hood requires tools and skill. I'm not good with tools so I wouldn't trust myself to do it. But if you already have the skill and tools then go for it. But if you don't have the tools yet, then buying the tools could make the total cost expensive, not to mention the chance of scratching the lens.

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks George. It depends on the lens and how you are shooting. For example the Samyang 7.5 micro four thirds has a lens hood that is ok for MFT but if you use the lens on APS-C then you have to modify the hood. The main thing is to determine if you are using it as diagonal fisheye or not. If yes, the hood is fine. If you are using as cropped or circular then you need to check if the hood is reducing the fov of the lens.

    The Samyang 8mm 3.5 is listed as an option for full-frame single row shooting. According to info from the link in the description: "The Sony E- mount 8mm f/3.5 UMC Fisheye CS II Lens is a prime fisheye lens designed for APS-C sized image sensors." Please help me understand ... How does one use this lens with a full-frame camera, such as a7iii?
    Using the camera in APS-C/Super-35mm mode would result in an image with substantially diminished resolution. (down from 24mp to 10mp) It seems like I might as well use a camera with an ASP-C sensor to achieve the highest resolution with this lens.

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jack. On APS-C, the Samyang 8mm f/3.5 is a diagonal fisheye. On full frame, it is a cropped fisheye. For single row, you use a cropped fisheye. Therefore, for single row with full frame, Samyang 8mm f/3.5 would work.

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And yes a 24mp APS-C would result in higher resolution than a 24mp full frame with this lens but you'll need to use a multirow panohead and take more shots than a single row.

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Toicy. Ultra wide nonfisheye like laowa can also be used for shooting 360 and can even get higher resolution but it will require more shots and there is a higher chance that ptgui cannot stitch automatically, in which case you will need to spend more time to add control points etc. That is why I almost always use fisheye for 360. It is more practical and will save time. As for resolution, my current setup has more than enough so I don’t need to spend time shooting with nonfisheye to get higher res.

    I'm torn between my options. I have a Panasonic Lumix GX880 and a Fuji X-T2.
    Are these cameras any good for 360 photography and which of the two would you use? Surely the Fuji would be a better choice? Would the results in the method you used be good enough to satisfy commercial clients?

    • @360vroomers
      @360vroomers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks John! Re the no parallax point, once you set it on the camera, then you can move the camera from room to room. You don't have to recalibrate it every time you move, as long as you use the panoramic head's stop markers to ensure that the panoramic head does not move from its settings. Nodal Ninja panoramic heads include stop markers for that reason. Some of the others do as well, although the inexpensive neewer panohead does not.
