Power pulls can be tricky, but you're right-they're all about the twist and bend motion! Off the ice, you can try practicing twists on a spinner to get used to the motion. I find that I’m absolutely terrible at power pulls. Do you have some off ice exercises to become used to the motion and to strengthen your legs ?
