Post-Apocalyptic Tutorial (PSD Box)

- In this manipulation tutorial I'll show you how you can use a few stock images to create a post-apocalyptic scene in Photoshop using manipulation techniques to change the lighting of a scene. I'll also show you a nice tip for masking one pixel edges using the Contract Selection command.

nice work, I just wanted to share one thing I had in mind while watching , when you use lightning effect , levels, curves or anything that destroys the details in highligts/shadows, you can sacrifice some details at first to get more freedom for the overall result and than bring back the lost details using a mask and some soft low opacity brushes , for example you could even use a few stamps with optimized lighting effects for different areas and than blend them in again in a single image.

can smbdy plzz tell me the layers use, why use of layer, when to use layer etc... actually its the main problem of beginners to understand layer
Basically you can use as many layers as you want. I usually make a layer for every element, so if I mess something I only have to remake one layer and not the whole picture and you can work properly with the effects too. Sometimes an element needs more effects than the other and if you have everything on the same layer the effects you choose will be the same for all. You can rename the layers to recognize them easier.

how do u import the clouds without closeing the project pic?
very nice tutorial but the png files can't open in my CS4, here is what is said in error box: "could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"
After making the sky selection black I cannot stack the images, when I open the sky jpg it does not fall into the transparency the way yours does on the video - it opens as a separate image..
How do I add Fill in the first few min of the video when you are removing the background? I followed all the steps by creating a layer mask but there is no Fill? I am using CS5.

Salutare. Eu nu reusesc sa inlocuiesc cerul cu alta poza din PC. De o ora ma chinui,urmez toti pasii,dar cand deschid poza respectiva,nu mi-o deschide asa ca in filmulet,ci separat. Unde gresesc? Multumesc!
