The way I immediately started crying when you began describing the Bonnie and Enzo scene in front of the hellfire. I don't think I've ever loved a character more than Bonnie Bennett and it breaks my heart how soul crushingly good she is despite being so horrifically done wrong. It's such a testament to Kat Graham's acting because she gets to me in every scene.

I teared up multiple times during this video, especially when I recalled the very last scene of the brothers hugging. It's my favorite moment in the entire show ❤

could never tolerate the later seasons so i’m glad i found you and was able to finally finish!!! i also feel robbed of klausoline as end game if it was me first chance he gave me im taking it and going on a world tour with him prob would have solved a bunch of problems for everyone lolol can’t wait for the originals tea spill!!!
It's so awful that I put on eye makeup while I was watching this episode because I had to stop myself from crying. The Caroline and Lizz moment made my eyes so watery. This was so beautiful. I'm so thankful for you starting this series. I've been watching them since the first episode and its been a wonderful ride.
Onto categories:
Ships: Nora x Bonnie is something I have come to seriously ship. A Bennet Witch and a HERETIC?!? The combination would've been DEADLY. It could've been so healthy. Liv x Tyler was also really good and I wish it didn't end so tragically.
Fave seasons?: 2, 3, 5 and 6. Especially 2 & 3 I think.
Fave episodes: Ones that come to mind right now are the one where Caroline's humanity turns back on, The Jolaric Wedding (despite the tragedy), Rose's death, and the masquerade ball episode I *think.*
My favorite character is BONNIE BENNET. She suffered so much for WHAT. Not one of her friends ever addressed her continuous sacrifice for the group or humanity in general. She was genuinely such a selfless and powerful witch.
It will never not be hilarious to me that DE had ZERO lines of dialogue between them in the finale. There was just that awkward kiss for their....reunion? And them walking hand in hand while Ian grimaced at Nina.
Bamon's reunion hug was so much more touching and full of chemistry and that's sad when DE was supposed to be THE ship, ya know?
Ian and Nina just lost their touch I think after not having worked together for so long or because....i dunno but the Damon and Katherine scenes were so forced and I really think it was because they didn't want to devote ANY screen time to anything substantial with Damon and Elena. I dunno. It was weird. The whole dynamic
That scene of Bonnie with all the fallen Bennett witches never fails to give me goosebumps because our girl has come soooooo far. And she won The Vampire Diaries. She won the whole show and kicked the butts of its' spinoffs, but we'll save that debate.
Bonnie Bennett was the true hero of Mystic Falls and I'm mad that she was intentionally not mentioned in the crap that followed. Bitter, still so bitter. lmao
Thank you so much for recapping this series. I had no idea that years later it still tugs at my heart as one of my most beloved things and it's the greatest gift of all to be able to share that same feeling with other people who love it just as much.

cant believe ive been watching these since like halfway through the season 1 recaps when you had under 1k subs, we made it !!!
im absolutely going to town with these categories:
fav seasons: 2, 3, and 6 (no surprise with that one)
fav characters: kai, klaus, damon
fav ships: delena, klaroline, bonenzo - honorable mentions i liked rose and damon together a lot, liv and tyler, stefan and caroline
fav episodes: s2ep12 where rose dies, and the one where they have the funeral for liz, and then basically every s3 ep and every kai ep bc obviouslyy
we did it!!! now on to the spin-offs :)
we're such kai stans i love to see it lmaooo liv and tyler yesss they have such a special place in my heart!! man dude s3 is so goooood the early seasons are just peak for the show honestly
Stefan sure is lucky Bonnie manages to wake up Elena. Because if it didn't happened Damon would die naturally before Bonnie as she's a witch.
You know for being "The Baddest Bitch of All" Katherine kind of sucks this episode.
So where's Katherine now? Like she was a ghost, so what happened? Did she find peace? Is she in some other hell dimension or some true hell? Or was her soul erased? Vicki found peace but she seem to have found closure Katherine didn't.
How does peace work, for example can Stefan and Damon go see Elena?
Favourite Characters
Oh, this is hard, so I'm gonna ignore the Originals because they get their own series.
6. Bonnie. I love her after dealing with so much pain, and grief. Girl has earned all the European vacations with her ghost boyfriend.
5. Liz. Did not see it coming. She snuck up, but yeah, Liz.
4. Caroline. Once she becomes a vampire, she just becomes so solid of a character.
3. Katherine. She's so charismatic, ruthless, and manipulative. But she still has a soft side, but it doesn't stop her from doing what she wants.
2. Damon. This son of a bastard snuck his way up the list. The first watch hated him. The second watch thought he was good. Third watch, I like Damon. Then this recap and actually analysising Damon, bastard climbed the ladder.
1. Stefan. My inconsistent boy. Like he's good, he's bad, he's everything in between because the writers had no idea how to write a golden boy, or whether to keep or not to keep Stefan golden boy even after all things he did.
Despite being 1 and 2 I still feel that Damon and Stefan, along with Bonnie have so much untapped potential.
Honourable mentions to Jenna, Lexi, Anna, Mason, Silas, Jo and Enzo (once he starts dating Bonnie).
While not a favourite I will say you me like Kai a bit more.
Favourite ships
I'm not gonna talk about your major ships as well. Other people gonna mention them.
Steroline: It's not my favourite, but I feel like due to love for Klaroline, I think it gets a bad rep. Bring it up, and the most common response is basically, "Caroline should have been with Klaus." But their romance is mostly good as long as you ignore season 7, but the same can be said forvtge show in general, "It's pretty good as long as you ignore season 7 except Bonnie and Enzo, and the twins we keep those."
Rose and Damon, this might be the healthiest relationship on the show.
Stefan and Rebekah, admittedly, this probably connected to my love of season 3 episode 3.
Non-romantically Klefan. From their brotherhood in the flashback to Stefan hatred of Klaus to there reluctant alliance in season 4 to their reunion is season 7, I love every scene between them.
As stated my favourite episode is S3E3 "The End of the Affair." Especially the flashback.
After that S2E21"The Sun Also Rises." Yes, it's the ritual episode.
And S3E14, "Dangerous Liaisons." It's the house party episode.
Looking forward to The Originals recap because I've only seen it once.
HA what a good point, its easy to overlook that the witches outlive the humans because we miss so much of the witch lore in TVD.
I so agree, someone mentioned that it feels like they brought katherine back because they knew the chemistry between elena/damon just wasnt going to be there so they had to let nina be both of them to wrap up katherine instead, which i think makes a lot of sense. I've always assumed that she just sort of winks out of existence (which i think is what we're supposed to think happens to you know who in legacies as well but I, uh, simply refuse). So characters like stefan and vicki find peace, but if you're evil it's just like you disappear forever. I guess ???? I wish they explained it better lmao

the doc I have going for the ships is SO long, I'm having the hardest time organizing everything.
i have a whole section dedicated to the 'sibling dynamic' because there are so many friendships that trip over into family and give me all the warm fuzzy feelings

I personally didn’t like the last episodes. The Bonnie “saving the world” scenes felt like an extension of Julie’s offensive tweet to us black women 😅. So I always skip it
I really love all Lizz Damon scenes. So this is one of my favorite ships. Also love Rick and Jenna 🥰

I am a huge Stefan x Kathrine lover, Delena ofc I do love klaus and Caroline but I do think the IDEA of klaus and Bonnie would’ve been interesting if they’d gone in that direction.
Looking at the last two seasons of TVD, it just reminds me of the CW curse. Almost every CW show already gets worse at the last few seasons. If anyone has watched the 100, then you know what I’m talking about. 😅
