Breaking stereotypes but also not idealising the country. I have studied at Jawahrlal Nehru University in Delhi and had a lot of Northeastern friends there, learning about the political marginalisation of the NE but also the women's movements. I am glad you are putting them into the spotlight they deserve. I think NE-India's people are the most welcoming, heartwarming people in the country, if not in the world :)
Thank you from Assam. We like the open mindedness of the Westerners. Maybe it is one of the regions why North-East Indians follow western music and fashion.

If you are foreigner & want to visit india . Don't visit North India. Even the TAJ MAHAL lies in a north Indian state . North India ( hindi speaking people ) are crazy , far right extremism are more in North than any other places in india.
@@sadanandapatel6123 It's definitely not that bad. 😅 from north east, but I would like to travel the rest of my country as tourist one day. If the people become good, hardworking and respectful, any place can be great and I believe good education (about cleanliness as well) is the key.
Honestly, many people dont know northeast is a heavenly place surrounded with beautiful nature untouch and unexplore. Giving our best hospitality to any guest is in our culture ethics. Thanks for visiting northeast India. Please go and visit many more of northeast states. Love your videos.
Everyone is thanking Karl for the video but no one's thanking Dino and his friend for taking him through some of the best places in Aizawl 😥🤣. Indeed this is the most beautiful video u have made till far. Your editing skills are getting better and better day by day. 👍
My favorite thing about Mizoram is a bottle of Zawlaidi. Zawlaidi is local Mizo wine. There is an amazing Mizo music channel called Zorimawi. You should see a cover version of Don't Cry Joni with 16 million views. Edit: 21 million and rising.
Mizo & Naga culture has many similarities with the indigenous tribes of Sabah in Borneo. Aizawl is very clean by the way. Other Indian cities should emulate.
@@rinpuiitlau2414 I M from Assam and I am surprised how beautiful mizoram is..I really want to go...only problem is will I find vegetarian food there, I cant eat at places where beef is made... i have seen many of your videos, and really enjoyed them, thanks for showing the beautiful places of Aizawl.. FYI being kind and polite to guests is one of our most beautiful traditional values, it is our custom and tradition not to turn down guests, feed them and provide them shelter.. you will be able to just randomly knock anyone's house and ask for food and shelter, still today even in the city most people won't turn you down, in the case for a village where there is no hotel, definitely everyone will be willing to take you in for a guest 😉
For me Mizoram really sound like South Korea in term of neatness n cleanest. A state where peace exist Cleanliness exist Greenery exist Christian values exist Corrupt free Love from Nagaland 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
These are the kind of people I like. People are not loud and obnoxious .North India could really use some of that. Obviously, not saying everyone's like that.Even I'm technically from North. But a little bit of basic etiquette wouldn't hurt people. People start being more mellow as you travel East in India.Noticed it in West Bengal too when I started living here. South India is also sorted for the most part, mostly due to better education and lower population. I hope UP,Bihar,Haryana get gentrified soon. These 3 states alone give a bad name to all of North India.
Mayank Chauhan Punjab and Haryana are same and Northern Rajasthan shares almost culture and people as Haryana and Delhi is mixture of all people and cultures including Haryanvi, punjabi ,Rajasthani, Up and rest of the India Yet somehow some trolls try to single out and blame everything on Haryana and sometimes on Other States,But when one of these States does something to Proud India, they always say "India did it, I am proud as Indian"

I am from Nagaland, but I should say Mizoram is the best State in Northeast . Nagaland is just a trash , filled with potholes road and corrupted politicians, I envy Mizos. and hi Karl, Don't drink too much of rice beer, or else you will get drunk, it's good for health only if you drink 1-2 cups.
But in terms of tourist attraction i think Nagaland is number one in northeast, you have Hornbill fest, war cemetary and so on, i have friends and relatives who's been there to hornbill and they love it but like you said they complained mostly about the roads .Im from mizoram we too face many problems regarding roads issues due to natural disaster like landslide but rebuild very quickly bexause of the people's voice. It is the people state not the politicians let your people's voice be heard your state will eventually shine.

@@shanden6873 almost evryones mind is corrupted so to say, the only solution for all nation if possible is to follow just two commandments of Jesus "To love your God with all your heart, your soul and your mind & to love your neighbours as yourself" all the laws converge on these two if only the peoples and politicians have this in their heart and implement it then only the state will have what we long for, but this prospect or possibility is way too far beyond reach.
I recently discovered Aizawl on You Tube. As a Christian I was fascinated by the way the locals have preserved their faith from the time their forefathers were converted to Christianity. I was impressed by church attendances and the church plays a major role in community activities. The people of Aizawl love to sing many of the songs which we in the West sang and many individuals have great talented singing voices. They have the most amazing choirs the standard is very high and can compete with the best in the world. I spend a lot of my free time viewing videos and presentations of North East India and I have always been impressed by the discipline of the people and the neat and well run city of Aizawl . Karl Rock who has actually visited gives a favorable idea of the natural beauty and foods of Mizoram. -
one thing we all Indians need to start doing now is to appreciate and accept our fellow brothers and sisters from other states. Stop being saying my state is better and others are inferior. This is such a bad thing. Especially when we are talking about our united India. Each small and big state and community needs appreciation and praise.
Agree 100% Rest of the world can say us whatever, but we, Indians, need to stay strong. Every state has something to teach. Let's learn from each other, admit our flaws and correct ourselves.
People is so disciplined and it has always been. Warm hospitality, cleanliness and discipline are part of Mizo culture. Mizoram may be westernized in their dressing style or music style but everything else is pure Mizo. Nothing has become westernized apart from dressing sense and the taste in music. Even all the east Asian countries are much more westernized. Mizo people have been successful in keep their rich culture alive.
Yeahh.. ♥️mizoram is beautiful n unique...I'm new to t state too..but they r very hospitable...n helpful..no fear in t dark ..wen in mizoland ur quite safe. U should visit t other districts in far south..these r t best kinds of ppl on earth.
I am so thankful that Northeastern culture is a part of Indian culture. It just makes me realize how diverse the looks and culture are going from North to South and East to West India. I feel so lucky and Aizawl is just so breathtakingly beautiful and the people are so good-looking and kindhearted too. Love you Indians of Mizoram :*.
Northeastern culture isn't Indian culture nor will ever be ..this region is only politically part of Indian republic , and that's where the similarity ends ..the people and the culture is nothing Indian ..fuck paj3ets
Loved what you said about different interpretations of "being civilized." There's a lot of internalized colonialism that we Mizos still garner and don't even realize. Also, thank you for visiting. ♥️
@Hyan anh nope. Most Mizos actually think we were a bunch of savages pre-colonization and we suddenly became more "civilized" because we were colonized. I'm a Mizo, I know.
Christianity brought a new God, new religious practices and westernization, but it never civilised the Mizos because Mizos were already a civilised people. I like your thinking, we must decolonise the way to look at ourselves as it was heavily influenced by white supremacist and colonial stereotypes.
Here is more about head hunters. The tribals a few centuries ago used to live isolated villages and did farming on slopes of hills, but the the land is not very fertile on slopes and after a couple of crops they had to look for new places for farming, when they moved they entered some other tribe's territory and war ensued. That's when they used to carry out surprise raids and bring a few heads trophy to defend their territory or establish themselves in a new territory and give a signal that don't mess with us we are fierce. It's not they did it as a sport or they were cannibals, but was natural defending and conquering territory which was part of any civilization before humans settled down at one place for good.
Yesss... Finally... welcome to Mizoram... We don't really have much of a night life here in Aizawl and the best tourist attractions we have in Aizawl are the different vantage points of the City.. And very glad you appreciated the view.. coz thats the best we can offer tourists within the City You can go to Reiek Tlang and hike up the mountains for more breathtaking views.. its like an hours drive from the city..

Aizawl is the biggest hill city in India and Shimla is second in terms of population. It is very clean and people are good. But, it is one of the most vulnerable city due to poor constructions in hill slope and heavy landslide problem. It is in the most earthquake prone area which can be affected by severe earthquake.
True. But u never know mother nature, i mean since my birth never had earthquake occurred, a severe one atleast in Mizoram. So geologist are good. But let's make this fact a low profile yes? Fellow Indian. Promote tourism, expose NE India 🇮🇳

Karl Rock who has actually visited gives a favorable idea of the natural beauty and foods of Mizoram.

one thing we all Indians need to start doing now is to appreciate and accept our fellow brothers and sisters from other states.
