What's up guys so here is my take on the Shadow Mages Minion build that does not use a golem and is really fun. This build is good all-around and able to push high tiers of the pit (with no holy bolt elixir), if you guys have any questions or input let me know below, thanks for the visit!
@@XPGamess wait but shadowblight buffs up the shadow dmg received by targets affected by it, and decay aspect buffs that effect. Or am I misunderstanding the way one of the 2 works?
@@glinchable the blighted aspect buffs our base damage when shadowblight proc's it buffs all damage with a 240% multiplier, it's not the shadowblight damage that matters that is hardly doing anything.
At what HP do you stop getting one shot? Bosses are ridiculous like pit 80+. Have 48k HP with the potion and still get one shot consistently if I'm not careful.
@XPGamess I don't really get some of how damg is Calc over all but I have felt, not seen value wise, but felt that with wither I do more than cult leader. But then I've been using uniques, howl gloves used to be the no1 slot for shadow builds but I see yall no longer use it as well. Haven't played s2 or s3 finished 1 and got burnt out grinding.
On your mobalytics paragon board you are not using amplify glyph on first one ? I am missing 1 dex point on abysall If I use amplify on the starterboard ?
so I've been running this build getting decent gear for it, ( im playing on eternal), im not quite ready for 100s yet but that being said. I do see potential and with some time and patience this build will def do your 100. can confirm this is a great build and worth investing into. for that sir you've earned a like and sub.
Good video mate been playing shadow mages myself, doing well but struggling with final pit bosses - too many one shot mechanics and my screen has so much clutter on it! May switch to this for the extra survival as I use bone storm in my current setup. After about 25k obols and a ton of grinding I still don't have an amulet to use! Everything else i got lucky with on day one. PS. The build link in description is empty.
Very nice. Just if I can get that bloody Hellbent Commander neck. So far out of 20+k obols and farming all over the place I got just one and bricked it. I wasn't too pissed because even this one was only +1. I am using neck with +2 to Fueled by Death on your Pure Minion build. That's best I have. All the best.
@@XPGamess No way I will roll, I tried rolling this season and it's impossible to target roll anything. Eventually Int and Life (and armor when you don't need it:P ). No need to say that gold is hard to get and easy to spend. It will drop eventually, I am patient man :)
Hey mate. Just happened accross this build and your channel. Was playing Golem before that. Took a chance on re-rolling all my gear to try this out and its way better for me. Admittedly I'm sticking with the sacrilegious ring for now and the single handed scyth and focus. But for a NM100, Helltide and Pit 70 farm toon its perfect. Thanks
Finally a skel mage guide. I have always wanted to run skel mages from the beginning got tired of just watching golem builds. Thank you so much! I did have a question though I am using Mage and Darkness in my paragon board, is that bad should I change it to exploit and control instead?
First of all, big thx for the all the work you put in to this! Great job sir! I run this biuld and it works like a charm. However bosses at higher Pit lvls can be a fantastic pain in the ass.....(The Drowned Hag & Brambles comes to mind) so is there a way to implement Golem & thorns to this build without to much of a hazzle? cheers & keep up the good work sir

Oh man, back to button mashing?! 😂 This seems like a really well thought out build… as a console player we’ve been so spoiled with that ring. How does this do on bossing compared to the minion KING build?
If you watch the vid, you can also use the ring of sac, I talk about it in the gear/aspects section, and it does great with bossing tormented boss kill at the end of vid.

I mean you could run golem but it wont be contributing anything really unless you get the damage reduction from the blood golem but I wouldnt suggest it really
Another amazing build from this guy. I copied his golem necro build and pretty much walk through heltides,dungeons etc. Waiting for a Sorcery build but I'm sure it will be worth the wait ( more is not better other streamers take note from this guy) 👌😎🤘
Yo XP Games, I heard that the 2nd part of Grasping Veins does not apply to minoins. Have you heard this? Still would be good for the crit chance. Awesome content as this will get me looking in the right direction for gear moving towards lvl 100.

So I'm using shako, 20dr and hardened bones on amulet, 38 dr My stats say 57.6dr...whatever If I use ability that gives 20 dr for 7 sec when I use a basic...that puts my dr where? 57 + 20....or 57 × 1.2? So either 77 or 68? If I add decryptify, rank 5, 24dr Am I at 101dr or 85? Either way, why am I still getting 1 shot by pit bosses lvl 80+ Fort is max, barrier is 78% Resist cap and armor cap
Well DR is great but a big part of it boils down to your health pool, you could have a ton of DR but a small life pool in turn still making you on the squishy side
@XPGamess see, that's the part I don't understand. Theorically, I could have 1hp and be fine if I resist 100% of damage. Is there a dr cap? Is it not % based? I just do not understand the rules of how it works, so no idea if I am just not adding enough or if it's useless. By your reply, I'm leaning towards it being a useless stat
@@markhurley3714 Well even if you have 100% dr that doesn't mean you won't take any damage it's just a % off what you would have taken, so you would take less for sure. I would focus on max life and dr at the same time you will have a better outcome
@@markhurley3714 DR sources are all multiplicative, yes. 20% extra DR puts your current damage taken to 80% Another 38% DR put that reduced damage to 62% damage taken and so on. Can't get to 100% DR Max Life is multiplicative as well, Barrier is great as well (aspect of shielding storm with Bone Storm)

I can't switch gear inside a pit, so I can't equip 2h right before boss fight :( Pit93.. 3000 golem dmg 35k unbuffed health 7m boss fight lol.... Not enough dps without 2h. I call, fact :) ....maybe :) I can solo tormented duriel and andriel...so my build isn't stupid bad, just not enough dmg

Are you manually casting corpse explosion or just using blood mist? With a 2h I find my cdr isn’t high enough to get it to reset instantly, whereas with a 1h and focus I can

We don't scale the golem so it would do no damage and we need to point in paragon and tree plus we get a nice boost by sacrificing it, so overall best to drop the golem.
@@XPGamess that makes sense. I have been running this build and trying to get the gear together still to where I want it. Only been able to get to an 85. I notice it tames me from about 1300 mage damage to 1700 so wasn't sure if it was good enough. Appreciate the reply from someone who's more advanced :)
As in when you masterwork up to the 4th upgrade if it does not hit the stat, you want boosted then set it back to 0 masterworks and level it up again so then at least you hit one of the stats you want guaranteed during the masterworking.
I hate how they overtuned lilith this season, I've beaten the other tormented bosses, most on the first try but I just cant beat her, I'll have to wait until she's nerfed or for some truly broken build, terrible boss fight.

Was wondering why with all these blight/shadow minion builds (golem or mages) that nobody uses decay aspect, seems like a solid damage boost
Because it increases the damage shadowblight its self does and not the skills that trigger it so it really would be a waste.

Well I have 65k hp with potions up and sone mechanics are one shot for necro no matter the hp, part of pushing high levels is learning the mechanics
I have roughly 30 hours on my necro and have only seen 1 single necklace with ranks to hellbent commander. That skill is so rare for me.
It is, super rare. I made the mistake even trying to roll into it and wasted tons of gold so I would wait till you drop one honestly.
Use all your obols on ammys until you have it. Priority number 1
Got one 2 nights ago super modded for hellbent. Has atk speed and max essence which is kinda lame. but gotta keep it for hellbent lol. At 8/3 Hellbent
@XPGamess same. Every time I log in, I do my daily 4.7mil reroll.. will I get it before I find +2 hellbent? Hopefully they change it.

Amplify goes into the starter board, there must be an issue, I am not home right now but I will fix it later

Yeah, it's a pain and really hard to roll, I suggest farming till you drop an amulet with +2 then use that or else you will spend a fortune

is the skeleton mage damage temper multiplicative? or would damage to cursed enemies be better on gloves/weapon/rings?
The mage damage is the best option you will get the most out of it

Yeah I have heard that I cover it in the guide but it's fine we use it to hit almost 100% base crit chance for the mages.
How come u can u use 2 exilers? Everytime i use the 2e the first one goes away
There is a quest elixir you can unlock in gea kul and use with along with another regular elixir

Yes, it adds a ton of damage, and we already use the blighted aspect on our 2 hander.
This work good with console? Found golem can be a pain to aim (sometimes) or do they just do their thing lol

You can run tyreals might its actually good for this build but black river is not nor the other uber uniques for this build.

Just go into settings for controls and you can switch the skills to whatever keys you want.

On the chest piece you have corpse tendril duration as one of the tempering's for the guide link that is in the description.

I don't manually cast corpse explosion blood mist does that. Running 1h with focus is missing out on a lot of damage.

Well they are both fun honestly but this one is more suited towards pushing the pit deeper.

Why not the Mages Glyph?
It's just additive damage and we get more out of the multiplier glyph damage.

This build can kill her easy plus you have blood mist for immunity during sticky spots

"All content" includes Uber Lilith. Sac Ring is not good for Lilith.
It would be fine, Lilith is easy. Especially since we have blood mist, cake walk
Grasping vein doesn't work with the unique ring i tested it

Yes, but we self-cast grasping also, and I would say overall to try and be sitting atleast at like 85% to minions if not higher.

Not necessarily, when it comes to pushing pit they are neck and neck.
