Before the NES James Bond Jr. was released, there were two proposed James Bond games for the NES. One NES 007 game was proposed by Bandai was based on Kevin McClory's "Thunderball" rights, but Bandai's plan was blocked by EON Productions, which prevented the project from getting developed (additional lawsuits between Kevin McClory and EON followed). The other proposed Bond game for the NES was an unlicensed game from Tengen, based on the movie "Licensed to Kill", which was programmed by Simon Nicol and music from David Whittaker, but it was cancelled due to development problems.
