I just did this same drive a couple of weeks ago! San Diego all the way to Oregon. We took 5 days and saw some of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! thank you for capturing it!
Those trees were so beautiful! I was in upstate New York a few weeks ago and took a walk by myself in the woods and it was just so peaceful and calming. All stress gone and just in the moment! Why did the tree get a job at the bank? To be a branch manager!
It looks like you just pulled over to the side of the highway and stayed overnight. It was free because you were not supposed to do that. If I'm not mistaken, overnight parking and sleeping in cars along highways in california are not allowed, and this includes the pacific coast highway. I've driven through Big Sur at mid-night, and the silence, darkness, and the starry sky were what really made it extra enjoyable. If everyone did this and set up camp along the highway, there would be no scenic highway for anyone to enjoy. So I'm sorry i cannot support this behavior or this video, or any other video where you treat the side of the road as RV parks. But if you stayed at a designated camp site, then nice video and silly me.
According to the California Department of Transportation state law, people are allowed to park and sleep in cars or RVs in rest stops for up to 8-hours. Using apps like iOverlander can help you find these spots where you can park for free :)
@@hopscotchtheglobe I have done that before. Thanks for clarifying. I don't know where exactly is this rest area where you stayed, but to the best of my recollection, there are no rest areas along highway 1 in and around big sur area. Locations marked in iOverlander in the big sur area are mostly not legal. But well, if you found an actual official rest area and stayed legally, I can only say well done.
The water looks amazing.. the tranquil blue color .. omg! Thanks for the share ❤️❤️

Kamau feels the same way every time he flies our drone. Lol. Those tress are so massive. I just saved it on my map as a place to go. Stunning.

Hey, I see you have a camper now instead of your van. Do you still use the van?
We rented an RV for this trip but we live in our Airstream. We didn't give it away :)
