    Kenny has held it down yet been largely ignored. He is one of the most consistent but underrated athletes in the United States. I'm happy to see him finally receive well deserved recognition. Thanks for all you do in keeping The Final Leg one of the best TH-cam channels for track and field coverage!

      Absolutely super unrecognized despite his amazing consistency. All the 200m guys deserve Thier respect for sure, but Kenny B just needs to be in that Convo. Thanks for watching as always!!

    This is the most salient arguments for Kenny Bednarek. I really think that he would be a solid addition to the US Men's 4x100m Relay. I think that he would run a Prandini-esque 3rd leg.
    I 'd also like to see him really train for the 400m and challenge for Norman and the crew. He could be consistent like Cherry.

      Agreed! Would love to see him really focus on the 400m one year. Thanks for watching!

    Kenny has been getting overlooked by casual fans , but the real ones know how consistently good he has been!

    Yes indeed Kenny B is not getting the recognition he deserves. Even USATF they don't give him a relay chance despite having dropped fast 200 and 100m times. I believe he'd have run the top bend way better than Elijah Hall not disrespecting what Elijah did but I believe Kenny can deliver even more considering his competence and consistency. Thank you @TheFinalLeg for your great insights.

      Such a good point. I think Kenny B is one of the best turn runners in the world right now. I agree he could do some damage on the relay. And thanks for watching!!

    Big fan of Kenny B - was a little insulted on his behalf when ppl kept leaving him out of a possible US WC 200m sweep for Kerley despite his favourable 5-2 H2H 200m record. The man ran sub 20s an incredible 13 times last year (11 wind legal - a record no one else comes close to!) on his way to an Olympic Silver, and with a toe injury, fought his way to WC SIlver this year! At 23yrs old, still has time/ability to lower his 9.89/19.68/44.73 PBs including running sub 44s if he really wants to!

    • @TheFinalLeg
      @TheFinalLeg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Exactly. He can very well be under 44 seconds if he wanted to and I think he is capable of 19.3x as well. Also thanks for the correction on 13 sub 20 races! (I said 14 by accident). Thanks for watching!

      @AllInTheGame01 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheFinalLeg No offence to my man Kenny, but don't think we should be handing out 19.3x like that!! Even MJ only ran it once! Something Noah needs to improve on! I think Kenny is capable of low 9.8, low 19.5 & high 43.

    • @TheFinalLeg
      @TheFinalLeg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@AllInTheGame01 I feel you, just saying its possible and he is capable of it. Also, Lyles/MJ ran 19.3 low. Bednarek is capable of 19.39 in great conditions. Just like Knighton has run 19.49 (+1.4), but his next best times are 19.69, 19.77, 19.80 etc. I think they are all capable of something fast.

    • @AllInTheGame01
      @AllInTheGame01 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFinalLeg Understand the premise is about the ability to run as a one-off a time that literally only 4 ppl in history have run, but still disagree that Kenny can do it as I think only Lyles & Knighton of this current crop have the ability to do so.

    • @TheFinalLeg
      @TheFinalLeg  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AllInTheGame01 Well have to wait and see for sure. I think, considering his injuries and setbacks, Kenny could have run 19.5 at worlds and 19.3 down the line (could be a few years) But Its hard to predict things. Many expected Knighton to threaten for Gold/MJs record at worlds, but he only ended up 3rd. Its definitely fun to see them all running fast times though regardless!

    He’s not looked over! Others just win 1rst place. He’s an excellent athlete! Noah is more charismatic, people with bigger personalities are usually more noticed. I love his energy and he very humble and quiet.

  • @beefboi9993
    @beefboi9993 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    He's been overlooked for sure. Don't forget that he beat both Lyles and Knighton in the olympics, and then beat Knighton again this year.

    • @TheFinalLeg
      @TheFinalLeg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, that's why I felt he needs to be highlighted, year after year he has beaten the best of the best. Sure Lyles is clearly ahead of everyone right now, but Bednarek is super super consistent. He has wins over Lyles, Kerley, Knighton, De Grasse, Richards etc, all in big races (USAs, Olympics, Worlds, Diamond League)

  • @gazzelle4
    @gazzelle4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! I think the "hype rivalry" between Knighton and Lyles had all eyes on them. This is going to be an interesting season. Don't sleep on Noah Lyles, though. I have a feeling he will make Team USA. The way he's been coming on will make it interesting to watch.

    Kenny might have the coolest stride he’s very cool and smith . 😊Kenny is actually the only person I think that can keep up and possibly beat noah in the 200.

    Kenny will never win the 200m at a major championship, it is a simple as that. He is never beating an in form Lyles, Knighton and de grasse.

    • @goat7844
      @goat7844 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He already beating Knighton twice. Once in the Olympic and world championship. So what are you talking about? SMH

    • @TheFinalLeg
      @TheFinalLeg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      But he beat Knighton 3 times last year (Olympic Trials, Gyulai István Memorial, Tokyo Olympics) and then also this year at the World Championships.
      He also beat Lyles last year at the Olympics.
      I think all of them are top notch. Though yes it will always be tougher at a major championship.

      He's beaten everyone you listed though when they were in shape.
