first question is b, 3.04. To find the percentage decrease, we calculate: Decrease percentage = 24% Decrease decimal = 0.24 (24% converted to decimal) To find the new price after a percentage decrease: New Price = Original Price x (1 - Decrease Decimal) New Price = $4.00 x (1 - 0.24) New Price = $4.00 x 0.76 New Price = $3.04 Great video! thx.
@@lifeasterrika4431I figured it out. If it’s increase then you add 1 to the decimal version of the percentage. If it’s decrease, you do the opposite, so subtract. Then you multiply the result by the original price. So for example if you had an original price of $5 and you had to figure out how much it is after you take the price down by 20%, then here’s what you would do. First, take 1 and subtract the decimal version of 20 from it, (just the number behind a decimal) so 1-0.20 which would get you 0.80 Then multiply the original price, 5, by that. So 5 times .80 Your result will be 4. I recommend you practice this skill and I hope my comment helped!!

A quicker way to solve the question (49): if you rearrange the binomials you will see that it's in fact the difference between two squares (-6i+6)(6i+6) -> (6-6i)(6+6i) "the difference between two squares: a² - b² = (a-b)(a+b)" so (6)² - (-6i)² which is 36 - 36i² (i² = -1) so simplified it's 36+36 = 72 It will save about 4~6 seconds, but it's the act and every second matters.

For 49, It might be faster to treat (-6i +6) as -(6i-6) so that you can do a difference of squares and simply turn the end result negative. -(6i-6)(6i+6) = -(36i^2 -36) = 72
When you divide 244 by 4, you get 61 with no remainder. It means that you hit the 4th digit, which is 7. If you continue until the 244th digit, you also get 7. In other words, just look for the remainder after dividing by 4. 245/4 = 61, remainder 1. 1:09 do you always divide it by four for equations like this or did you only divide it by four bc it asks for 1/4 of the volume? (So if it were to be like 1/7 i would divide by seven?) (And what would i do if i had a number like 2/3?)
this was bc it's 1/4 of the volume! you'd divide by 7 in that case, yes. if the question asked for 2/3 of the volume, you would just multiply the volume by 2/3, which is the same as multiplying by 2 and dividing by 3
