Having no DLC is always gonna be for the best when it comes to big games like this. I'm so glad SE decided to just go on and focus on getting Part 3 done and released ASAP. So looking forward to the thrilling conclusion!
@@davidbourlot8175 no most platinums require some experience with each minigame, but typically not beating every single minigame at the hardest difficulty. Just like most platinums don't require you to beat the game on the hardest difficulty. To be honest, most platinum trophies are not indicators of 100% the game, so no, it's not the point of the trophy.
@@kalitorfalse, all first party games have mainstreamed their platinum trophies for easier experiences but if you’ve been trophy hunting for as long as i have then you would know that 3rd party games, ESPECIALLY rpgs and jrpgs, have always ALWAYS had trophies that required you to put in the extra effort to get. You havent been in the trophy game for too long if you are saying that or havent touched games beyond 1st party because This is a FACT, not an opinion. Final fantasy 7 rebirth trophies fall in line with other jrpg trophy lists like yakuza for example.
@@azureknight729 I get that. I have the platinum for FF7 remake too; it's not like I haven't done hard platinums. But from FF7 remake to rebirth, the massive uptick in just stuff to do is ridiculous. I've put over 200 hours into the game and still have a ton more to complete minigame wise to get the trophy (I'm pretty close to done combat wise). It's a little much at some point. At some point, you go beyond "extra effort" to too much stuff in the game. Every game could be made harder or have more content added. But developers decide to stop at some point. What the developer is saying here is that they went a little too far and I agree. What I was saying with my comment was that I don't actually mind the additional minigames, some people like them, but you can add content and have a difficult platinum without necessarily requiring all the content to be done to get it. It'd be like not requiring the DLC for the platinum, it's just the DLC is released with the game. Feel free to have the incredible amount of content so that people can spend as much time in the world as they want, but it doesn't have to be part of the platinum trophy. That's all I was saying. I wasn't saying have easy platinums. What I was saying is that you don't have to take away the minigames to solve the trophy issue. Add all the minigames you want, but you don't have to necessarily include them in platinum.
@@Urlastnerve ist not an official release window but 2+2=4 and they said they are looking for a development time similar to rebirth (they said they started working on rebirth after finishing the dlc, so 3 years since episode yuffie took almost a complete year of development), so 2021- 2024 and 2024-2027. Also they showed rebirth first teaser for the 25 anniversary, you dont have to be smart to notice their aprox release window is 2027 and it cassualy match with 30 anniversary. If this is not the case just explain why this time they dont want to do dlc, easy answer is if they do, they lost every oportunity of releasing part 3 on 2027. In conclusion, its not official but its real, its what dev team is dealing with. They also said script is completed, and we already have photos from a few years ago where they were doing motion cap for cid with his spear.
Chadley is what broke the immersion for me. There was waaaaay to much Chadley in this game and they gave us, not one, but two Chadleys between him and his female counterpart. I feel like they could've split his role into different regional NPCs and interactions between party members (going over legends of the summons and such). I also feel like we should've encountered the summons in their caves rather than Chadley putting us against them in some VR thing.
I hope part 3 gives you more independent exploration and chance encounters rather than being spoofed by Chadley. And I also don't mind if we get to kill Chadley.
I got the platinum, and man….. it was JUST a bit on the bs side of difficult. Those final vr challenges and the hard mode final boss rush with Jenova and Sephiroth were rage inducing. Remake’s platinum was the perfect level of challenge to me. Tough, but felt fair. This one felt very unfair at times.
Oh Ikr. The Rulers of the Outer Worlds is one VR mission that even the player has to beat unfairly if he hopes to win. That being the Yuffie Spam method. I think that skill only ever got in-game for that VR mission alone.
Whilst I enjoyed the Hard fights in the VR simulator, starting form round 1 again if you fail on the last couple of fights raged me to know end, it also makes practicing the final fights a bloody chore, i wish you could just retry the fight you were stuck on.
@@watchamigos1232 in the end I used a busted Magic build + Genji Gloves with Cloud, so I was hammering Damage whilst absorbing HP and MP. Practically done the same thing through Hard Mode story aswell, only the final Boss with its shed load of boss fights gave me some trouble. I adored the game, but the platinum was abit overkill. Since they promised Part 3 platinum will be abut easier I'm actually happy with that.
@ yea I would’ve enjoyed it a lot more that way. I hated that I could beat most of the fights pretty easily just to loss at the end and have to fight for another 20 minutes just to try again
I am still mad at square for not being the first game over to Xbox. When this latest generation was released they had said it was only a timed exclusive. I rarely get to play games when they come out due to time constraints, so I was fine waiting a year. I bought an Xbox due to the better value and I could actually find one. Then it was crickets. I eventually played it on my steam deck, but rebirth is not going to run on the deck and my kids love the Xbox and there is no way I am convincing my wife to spend more money on a PlayStation for a couple of games.
Glad he acknowledged the stupid amount of mini games in rebirth. Every other side quest and protorelic doesn't need to be a stupid mini game. The classic "go slay these enemies and then go jack up these other monsters" is absolutely perfect for side quests.
You know that they have to make the port right in order to not be buggy like TLOU part 1 on pc, exclusivity has nothing to do with it. Take as an example FFXVI, they released it on pc a few months ago, and the exclusivity ended at the beggining of the year
@@davidbourlot8175 they develop the game on Unreal Engine, a Engine that is SET UP to ship to Windows right after install, it comes with everything set up for Windows, I can tell you one thing, making the port is not the problem, only if they want to set it up for Linux or whatever it would take some extra steps. (I work with UE4/5 for 5 years now) Adding mouse+keyboard inputs takes no time, adding extra settings takes no time, they have no reason to take forever like they did with remake. They simply don't care about the PC market if you ask me...or at least they did not care in the past.... for me personally they ruined all 3 parts already by making it exclusive for the first 2, I could not avoid spoilers for 2+ years and that kinda ruined remake for me, I did not know (or barely knew) the OG ff7 story since I only played Crisis core as a teenager, one of my favorite games, so when they announced the remake I was thinking it could become my favorite game/s...but yeah I played ff7 remake with almost everything spoiled so it was decent at best, and mostly bitter sweet when everything scene that would have been amazing I already knew, so it was almost not worth it with the 50% discount I got it for on steam sales. and now the same is happening with rebirth....so I will probably not buy it...maybe one day for a 50% discount....so I just assume the third part I will just ignore, I doubt I can enjoy it with the first 2 parts already ruined for me
Ngl I was one of the people complaining about mini games. I didn’t like so many of them being there because it was mandatory. I enjoyed some of them sometimes, but I remember there was a point where I felt like I wasn’t able to get from point to point because I had to do back to back mini games. I liked queens blade though.
I’d be good with DLC or no DLC. A DLC focused on Vincent’s past as a Turk would be great. But since there is no DLC, no doubt we’ll visit his past in the third installation

I mean… I don’t know. I'm not the best Player out there and I needed lot of guides but eventualy managed to get the Rebirth Platinum. The achievement was a good feeling the road not always… so I am not sure! I Cannot wait for the Story to continue tho and will again try to achive platinum. :) Edit: I also did all the World stuff per Zone as soon as I could so sometimes I lost focus on the Story in my First playthorugh and got confused…
I hope we get playable cute moogle transformations for the heroes and playable cute chocobo forms and cute cait sith forms for the heroes to turn into and for us to play as. We also need alternate costumes like adorable chubby mascot costumes of chocobo and moogle and cait sith for cloud and the rest in part 3
Like they could just make them playable characters in Rebirth as DLCs just so fans see their style and critic it which they can improve upon. This makes it so that fans can keep some engagement while the team is just focusing on part 3
Found out Rebirth topped a lot of awards but not the big one at the top maybe that's what it the third one needs to be. Nailing an official game of the year that is missing so the eggs in that basket would be worth it.
My only issue with the mini games were that they were mandatory. In the og most were optional, never make mini games mandatory, completely takes you outta the main story progression.
What are you talking about? Motorbike minigame- mandatory, sub-marine minigame mandatory, squatting minigame- mandatory, giving cpr/jumping from dolphin- mandatory. Hell even the snowboarding one was pretty much mandatory. Im even sure there is some that I missed.
On og most of them were mandatory, and in rebirth you can just skip the ship tournament and simply loss the 3d brawler battle, the only one that you have to do for story is the dolphin one, same as in og
also platinum should be hard and challenging, but part of this platinum is heavy grinding. ... Im I htink 90% towards getting my platinum after the first play through. haha
I'm still not a fan of the summons system. I would much rather build a metter and use the summon at will instead of having to break the enemy before i can use a summon.
i agree with the platinum award but to play a character like sephirot after first doing 100h hardcore missions is to much effort just for one character. i am still trying to beat this bosses and its not easy, i just want to play my favorite character and have aome fun with it and not trying ti go crazy just for playing to grt one character and try him out
Very few things to fix imo 1. Side quest placement, don't give me 20 distractions right when critical story things are happening, and I should be immediately responding to the story. 2. Maybe don't have zero inverted support on minigames.... please and thanks. 3. Make the open world interaction more interesting, scanning crystals and towers...kind of dated. 4. no more hard mode requirements, its not fun for everyone, and if you are going to do it quit with the no item stuff, Hardmode should add mechanics not take them away.
@@56Tyskie Get good? I have platinum's for both games. My comment wasn't complaining about difficulty anywhere in it, you just created your own reason to be a jerk. I just think they can do a better job than deleting item usage to create difficulty, especially when they still give you items you can't use in your hard mode.
Hard mode is honestly great. Sure, they could level it up by giving us more new feats. I've enjoyed playthroughs on hard mode a lot. Really lets you know the best of the character's playstyle.
@@watchamigos1232 You are entitled to your opinion, I think it's a slog, especially when hard mode isn't really designed to be played 2 years later after you are interested in a second run of the game, its designed to build off of your first playthrough competency. I'm not a big fan of being forced to play twice because they can't figure out how to scale a hard mode on an initial playthrough.
SO funny to me. "Too much content" .... when have you ever heard that? lol. i do think some of it could have been more side quest-esque and not tied into the story as hard, but I got the first class edition so with 80-90 hours in my first play through, Im happy. :) Im super excited for a release date of the third and final chapter and will play my hard mode play through shortly there after. Loving all the fan theory about what is to come and how things will play out. :)
Trophies and achievements across Playstation and XBox have always detracted from the games imo. In Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, you unlock a cool new white outfit for Ryu when you complete 'Master' difficulty. It's a reward you can enjoy in game while you are playing. These trophies and achievements you have to leave the game in order to admire a pointless list solely for 'bragging rights'. They've been upping the ante for this nonstop over the years by making them more and more masochistic in terms of difficulty and just overall stressful rather than fun, which to me defeats the purpose of playing a game. If I overcome reasonable challenges in a game, I would prefer to be rewarded *in game* for it, by enjoying whatever cosmetic, gear, weapons, powers, perks and so on the game has to offer while I am actually playing the game. I never cared for leaving a game just to 'admire' a pointless list of trophies that will just sit there and with no purpose. The pointlessness of trophies and achievements is akin to that of EA's sports titles, where you build your Ultimate Team and then there is a complete hard reset on everything where you have to purchase the same game again and you start with a blank slate. And this is coming from someone who enjoyed FIFA 15. Because FIFA and Madden are so shit now, even when you get your Ultimate Team, what then? It's just going to sit there after you spent that fortune trying to attain it. So, what the hell is the point?! These trophies and achievements are exactly the same, minus the additional funds. You will put yourself through that hell just so these trophies and achievements can ... what? Sit there on your console for you to 'admire' 10+ years down the line when the game is obsolete, and no one gives a shit anymore? Again, this is for temporary bragging rights, so what is the point of this? I remember Ape Escape on Playstation 1 and that was still a fun game with decent challenge and fun gameplay, that did not need this whole 'trophies and achievements, bragging rights' ordeal. Sly Cooper on Playstation 2 was fun without it as well. Games like these did not need this system and I feel this just diminished what true gaming is over the years: Enjoying a classic on your console that you can return to at any point and just have fun with. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a perfect example of the game being tailored around this system instead of just being a fun experience in and of itself. Personally, I was sick of Queen's Blood as soon as I reached the Gold Saucer during my first playthrough. I felt I was playing more Queen's Blood than Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It was physically giving me a headache whenever the name was mentioned. Gears and Gambits is a complete mess with game design and the Proto-Relics was unnecessary imo. We had enough summons as it were, so rather than Gilgamesh, I'd have preferred that dev time to be spent more on letting us play sections with Zack instead, considering they dropped the ball there big time. Enough of my ranting, and I'm sorry this comment turned into an essay. There was just a lot to unpack with this topic.
Why do people make that sound like a bad thing? Too time consuming? I’d rather pay $70 for a game that takes 300 hours over a game that costs $70 and takes 10 hours to complete.
Mini games almost ruined this game for me. I don’t think a DLC would be well received, the Platinum run was brutal and burned many folks out. I don’t mind it being tough to get a platinum trophy, but I do mind how much time it required. For instance, having to reset your equipment and watch cutscenes if you lose to Rufus and Sephiroth is the developers trolling and it waste so much time for battles they knew we would have to figure out. Also, let us reset our equipment and Materia without exiting the damn combat simulator and having to listen to Chadley talk about his uninteresting travels. We have several 10 round sequences for crying out loud and against enemies that present a multitude of challenges.
Still pursuing the platinum I don’t mind the difficult battles but those mini games took some real dedication. Maybe ill have it by the time part 3 comes out
Platinum for Elden Ring was way easier than Plat for FF7Rebirth. So don't tell me about how difficult Plat trophies need to be. The piano stuff in particular was just bad.
I truly wonder what the release date of part 3 will be with all this hype on development speed. If they gave up DLC, then my expectations went from 2027 July 7th (because they would be insane and want FF7 to come out in the 07/07/2027) to early 2026. I can’t wait if this is true!
I haven't played Rebirth yet so I'll give my thoughts on it once I do so and complete it to my liking (God damn large ass backlog. I'm pretty much 2+ years behind on games at this point. I'm currently playing Klonoa Phantasy Reverie. Fuck you Scamco and your SAO simping bullshit, anime bullshit, fighting game bullshit and anime fighting game bullshit. Sorry but I will ALWAYS call this kind of stuff out) However... honestly I WAS expecting Rebirth to get DLC because Remake got DLC but whatever? I guess? Can't wait for the inevitable Square Enix 'Part 3 didn't meet our expectations' BS. -_-
@@Dis2good if they were really worried about rebirths numbers they would not have made an exclusivity deal with square enix for the entire final fantasy 7 project and released it on all consoles and pc.

I don't have the game and will probably skip it (and part 3) since I have a computer only and am not interested in spending 600$+ to play 1 game, even if it could have been my favorite game of all time...really sad, the trillogy could have been my favorite games of all time if I could have played them without all the spoilers I could not avoid for 2+ years on the first part, for second part already like 6 months... I decided this story/character/narrative heavy game is not worth my money if all these things are spoiled for me personally... remake was a sad experience when almost every meaningfull scene was spoiled in some way already...so it made me upset enough to not even bother buying the last 2 parts... Edit: oh and I just want to say, some could argue the story is 27 years old so my reasons are weird, but I actually did not know most of it since I only played Crisis Core as a teenager and there was not much talk about ff7, so I knew almost nothing and had it spoiled entirely during the exclusive time.
@ interesting take. Do you mean the trailers spoiled it for you or the internet discussion and culture spoiled it for you? Maybe you just need some time before you jump in. Since PC will probably be out next year, you still have lots of time to wait for a sale if you want. Based on your fandom, I’m just surprised that console exclusivity is enough to ruin the game for you. There’s a good chance without Sony funding that Square Enix might’ve not even been able to make it. With the Avengers flop, they might even be a completely different company. They aren’t exactly doing well. So I choose to reward them when they do good work. Other stuff, I haven’t supported.
What I am after part 3 is a version of the game(S) that the parts of the game merged into one so you do not have close game down start the next part and keep some upgrade/item progressions.
I think because there is not much stuff left in the story for part3 we gonna get advent children dlc on part 3. You know to milk the franchise completely for the new trilogy
I get what you’re saying in terms of the platinum trophy but there’s a difference between difficult but fair to WTF difficult and straight up BS and unnecessary. I liked the mini games in Rebirth but there was no reason to literally do every single one on hard mode just to get the trophy. As for the combat simulator the one in Remake was tough but doable but Rebirth? Absolute BS. Unless you have a guide on how to do certain fights good luck trying to do it on your own cuz you will die in mere seconds. I’d rather take on Weiss before I do Bonds of Friendship or Rulers of the Outer Worlds again. Even though I got the platinum you can forget about me doing any of the mini games again except Queens Blood
yes finshing everything in the game and getting the platuim tropy was hard but in words of DIO "WHEN FATE SETS US A CHALLANGE WE MUST RISE TO MEET IT" and i did it took 6 months but its done
A dlc with Cid and Vincent, as a testing ground for their gameplay, wouldn't be bad. People would like it and SE could test things before the last part.
I kinda disagree, and here is why I think how they did the dlc from remake to introduce yuffie in rebirth worked great! But towards the end of rebirth u meet Vincent and cid ! But don't get to play as them ! So I think a good dlc showing parts u can play as them would be great! Which would bridge rebirth to the 3rd instalment just like they did with remake to rebirth! So a Vince / cid dlc in my opinion would be what should be worked on before the 3rd instalment! And make it a full half game u play as Vincent , and the other as cid , or some gameplay of both on and off . Like u go from playing as 1 up until like a big boss fight then switch to cid where he does the same . And Rinse and repeat that process a few times with maybe some mini games in between , and some flashbacks maybe some of of Vincents part actually be from the story of derge of Cerberus . Idk ! I just think it would be a great idea since we got zero gameplay as either of them in rebirth! Just sayin !
My two cents. 1. All mini games should optional. I agree with many people that it does break immersion unless it is part of the scene like a cinematic action sequence. 2. Not pertaining to this game but all games platinum trophies should only be single player experiences and have a separate section or multiplayer trophies only. I’m not a trophy hound but it irks me to no end knowing that some trophies are impossible to unlock without forcing you to play online.
I would agree with the online part for sure. But honestly, i don’t understand why people put so much weight on a platinum trophy. The whole point is to enjoy the game. Getting platinum should automatically tell you that the achievements will be challenging and not meant for everyone. You can play rebirth straight through and turn it off when you’re done. That should be it. Trying to master mini games and then complaining about it doesn’t make any sense to me.
I absolutely agree that platinum and single player games that have online only trophies are bullshit. That's just a money grab imo. Total bs. I am a completionist and trophy hunter so seeing that break in there cuz of that drives me crazy
I wouldn't mind a DLC with a Cid drama somehow or even coming across Cait Sith briefly bearing leaving out Dirge or Vincent DLC content after a thrid game. Highwind origins perhaps. Maybe not ride the Highwind itself but the end of the DLC with a jubilant high point of its creation and all its glory.

Part 3 will suffer from the same technical bullshit this did because they will try and rush it out the door and cut corners, something they didn’t do for remake.

Ewww hell no…. Square absolutely nailed the combat with Rebirth. That’s one of the most addicting things about the game is the combat. It’s a perfect combination of mash and skill based use. FFX was my favorite game of all time for 19 years, and I recently just tried going back to replay it since the remaster came out……and it was so difficult to stick with it because turn based is just so slow and boring now. I would kill if Square would be able to make all of their games implement the new ATB system.

What good news? Ff7 was fucked since the first 45 minutes of part 1. This a fucking insult. And they still can't figure out why their stock took a big shit. Edit: To be a little bit more fair, though... half way through ps4 to now been almost entirely disappointing. The last 3 games I bought was RE Village Nioh 2 And Elden Ring... very, very, very bad news.

I just bought Rebirth on the Black Friday sale a few hours ago.
Very much agree with no DLC, the game is MASSIVE, we definitely did not need a DLC
And yet it seemed so small.

I don't necessarily have an issue with the minigames as long as mastering them wasn't required for the platinum.
Yea, i agree, they should just hand you the platinum when you first start the game without any effort.

They want to make it for release on 2027, for the 30 anniversary. Rebirth took 4 years but the 1st one was spent working only in episode Yuffie

@@Urlastnerve ist not an official release window but 2+2=4 and they said they are looking for a development time similar to rebirth (they said they started working on rebirth after finishing the dlc, so 3 years since episode yuffie took almost a complete year of development), so 2021- 2024 and 2024-2027.
Also they showed rebirth first teaser for the 25 anniversary, you dont have to be smart to notice their aprox release window is 2027 and it cassualy match with 30 anniversary.
If this is not the case just explain why this time they dont want to do dlc, easy answer is if they do, they lost every oportunity of releasing part 3 on 2027.
In conclusion, its not official but its real, its what dev team is dealing with.
They also said script is completed, and we already have photos from a few years ago where they were doing motion cap for cid with his spear.
Part 1 took 5 years, Rebirth took 4 years. That theory could be correct, but again we don’t know .

Chadley is what broke the immersion for me. There was waaaaay to much Chadley in this game and they gave us, not one, but two Chadleys between him and his female counterpart. I feel like they could've split his role into different regional NPCs and interactions between party members (going over legends of the summons and such). I also feel like we should've encountered the summons in their caves rather than Chadley putting us against them in some VR thing.

I got the platinum, and man….. it was JUST a bit on the bs side of difficult. Those final vr challenges and the hard mode final boss rush with Jenova and Sephiroth were rage inducing. Remake’s platinum was the perfect level of challenge to me. Tough, but felt fair. This one felt very unfair at times.
Oh Ikr. The Rulers of the Outer Worlds is one VR mission that even the player has to beat unfairly if he hopes to win. That being the Yuffie Spam method. I think that skill only ever got in-game for that VR mission alone.
Whilst I enjoyed the Hard fights in the VR simulator, starting form round 1 again if you fail on the last couple of fights raged me to know end, it also makes practicing the final fights a bloody chore, i wish you could just retry the fight you were stuck on.

@@watchamigos1232 in the end I used a busted Magic build + Genji Gloves with Cloud, so I was hammering Damage whilst absorbing HP and MP.
Practically done the same thing through Hard Mode story aswell, only the final Boss with its shed load of boss fights gave me some trouble.
I adored the game, but the platinum was abit overkill.
Since they promised Part 3 platinum will be abut easier I'm actually happy with that.

I am still mad at square for not being the first game over to Xbox. When this latest generation was released they had said it was only a timed exclusive. I rarely get to play games when they come out due to time constraints, so I was fine waiting a year. I bought an Xbox due to the better value and I could actually find one. Then it was crickets. I eventually played it on my steam deck, but rebirth is not going to run on the deck and my kids love the Xbox and there is no way I am convincing my wife to spend more money on a PlayStation for a couple of games.

Glad he acknowledged the stupid amount of mini games in rebirth. Every other side quest and protorelic doesn't need to be a stupid mini game. The classic "go slay these enemies and then go jack up these other monsters" is absolutely perfect for side quests.
They need to give some release about Rebirth on PC....the wait is ridiculous..... The exclusiveness to PS ran out forever ago.
You know that they have to make the port right in order to not be buggy like TLOU part 1 on pc, exclusivity has nothing to do with it. Take as an example FFXVI, they released it on pc a few months ago, and the exclusivity ended at the beggining of the year
@@davidbourlot8175 they develop the game on Unreal Engine, a Engine that is SET UP to ship to Windows right after install, it comes with everything set up for Windows, I can tell you one thing, making the port is not the problem, only if they want to set it up for Linux or whatever it would take some extra steps. (I work with UE4/5 for 5 years now)
Adding mouse+keyboard inputs takes no time, adding extra settings takes no time, they have no reason to take forever like they did with remake. They simply don't care about the PC market if you ask me...or at least they did not care in the past....
for me personally they ruined all 3 parts already by making it exclusive for the first 2, I could not avoid spoilers for 2+ years and that kinda ruined remake for me, I did not know (or barely knew) the OG ff7 story since I only played Crisis core as a teenager, one of my favorite games, so when they announced the remake I was thinking it could become my favorite game/s...but yeah I played ff7 remake with almost everything spoiled so it was decent at best, and mostly bitter sweet when everything scene that would have been amazing I already knew, so it was almost not worth it with the 50% discount I got it for on steam sales. and now the same is happening with rebirth....so I will probably not buy it...maybe one day for a 50% discount....so I just assume the third part I will just ignore, I doubt I can enjoy it with the first 2 parts already ruined for me

Ngl I was one of the people complaining about mini games. I didn’t like so many of them being there because it was mandatory. I enjoyed some of them sometimes, but I remember there was a point where I felt like I wasn’t able to get from point to point because I had to do back to back mini games. I liked queens blade though.
I’d be good with DLC or no DLC. A DLC focused on Vincent’s past as a Turk would be great. But since there is no DLC, no doubt we’ll visit his past in the third installation
The only thing about the platinum that really bothered me was the Chadley simulator fights. I want a challenge... I don't want it to be unfair though.
Yeah minigames is my number one criticism. I liked about 10 of them.
I hope we see at least a GLIMPSE of some of the work they've done so far on part 3 sometime next year!

It’s a 297hr Platinum trophy. I love that it was hard too. But, I HATED the fucking Chocobo Gilde mini-game. It took me 2hrs to beat.

I mean… I don’t know. I'm not the best Player out there and I needed lot of guides but eventualy managed to get the Rebirth Platinum. The achievement was a good feeling the road not always… so I am not sure! I Cannot wait for the Story to continue tho and will again try to achive platinum. :)
Edit: I also did all the World stuff per Zone as soon as I could so sometimes I lost focus on the Story in my First playthorugh and got confused…
I hope we get playable cute moogle transformations for the heroes and playable cute chocobo forms and cute cait sith forms for the heroes to turn into and for us to play as. We also need alternate costumes like adorable chubby mascot costumes of chocobo and moogle and cait sith for cloud and the rest in part 3

Like they could just make them playable characters in Rebirth as DLCs just so fans see their style and critic it which they can improve upon. This makes it so that fans can keep some engagement while the team is just focusing on part 3
Found out Rebirth topped a lot of awards but not the big one at the top maybe that's what it the third one needs to be. Nailing an official game of the year that is missing so the eggs in that basket would be worth it.

My only issue with the mini games were that they were mandatory. In the og most were optional, never make mini games mandatory, completely takes you outta the main story progression.
In ff7 minigames were actually mandatory (except for the fort condor battle - but you'll be missing out on the summon materia)
What are you talking about? Motorbike minigame- mandatory, sub-marine minigame mandatory, squatting minigame- mandatory, giving cpr/jumping from dolphin- mandatory. Hell even the snowboarding one was pretty much mandatory. Im even sure there is some that I missed.
On og most of them were mandatory, and in rebirth you can just skip the ship tournament and simply loss the 3d brawler battle, the only one that you have to do for story is the dolphin one, same as in og

I'm still not a fan of the summons system. I would much rather build a metter and use the summon at will instead of having to break the enemy before i can use a summon.

i agree with the platinum award but to play a character like sephirot after first doing 100h hardcore missions is to much effort just for one character. i am still trying to beat this bosses and its not easy, i just want to play my favorite character and have aome fun with it and not trying ti go crazy just for playing to grt one character and try him out
Very few things to fix imo
1. Side quest placement, don't give me 20 distractions right when critical story things are happening, and I should be immediately responding to the story.
2. Maybe don't have zero inverted support on minigames.... please and thanks.
3. Make the open world interaction more interesting, scanning crystals and towers...kind of dated.
4. no more hard mode requirements, its not fun for everyone, and if you are going to do it quit with the no item stuff, Hardmode should add mechanics not take them away.

I just think they can do a better job than deleting item usage to create difficulty, especially when they still give you items you can't use in your hard mode.
Hard mode is honestly great. Sure, they could level it up by giving us more new feats. I've enjoyed playthroughs on hard mode a lot. Really lets you know the best of the character's playstyle.
@@watchamigos1232 You are entitled to your opinion, I think it's a slog, especially when hard mode isn't really designed to be played 2 years later after you are interested in a second run of the game, its designed to build off of your first playthrough competency. I'm not a big fan of being forced to play twice because they can't figure out how to scale a hard mode on an initial playthrough.

SO funny to me. "Too much content" .... when have you ever heard that? lol. i do think some of it could have been more side quest-esque and not tied into the story as hard, but I got the first class edition so with 80-90 hours in my first play through, Im happy. :) Im super excited for a release date of the third and final chapter and will play my hard mode play through shortly there after. Loving all the fan theory about what is to come and how things will play out. :)

Trophies and achievements across Playstation and XBox have always detracted from the games imo. In Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, you unlock a cool new white outfit for Ryu when you complete 'Master' difficulty. It's a reward you can enjoy in game while you are playing. These trophies and achievements you have to leave the game in order to admire a pointless list solely for 'bragging rights'.
They've been upping the ante for this nonstop over the years by making them more and more masochistic in terms of difficulty and just overall stressful rather than fun, which to me defeats the purpose of playing a game. If I overcome reasonable challenges in a game, I would prefer to be rewarded *in game* for it, by enjoying whatever cosmetic, gear, weapons, powers, perks and so on the game has to offer while I am actually playing the game.
I never cared for leaving a game just to 'admire' a pointless list of trophies that will just sit there and with no purpose. The pointlessness of trophies and achievements is akin to that of EA's sports titles, where you build your Ultimate Team and then there is a complete hard reset on everything where you have to purchase the same game again and you start with a blank slate. And this is coming from someone who enjoyed FIFA 15. Because FIFA and Madden are so shit now, even when you get your Ultimate Team, what then? It's just going to sit there after you spent that fortune trying to attain it. So, what the hell is the point?!
These trophies and achievements are exactly the same, minus the additional funds. You will put yourself through that hell just so these trophies and achievements can ... what? Sit there on your console for you to 'admire' 10+ years down the line when the game is obsolete, and no one gives a shit anymore? Again, this is for temporary bragging rights, so what is the point of this?
I remember Ape Escape on Playstation 1 and that was still a fun game with decent challenge and fun gameplay, that did not need this whole 'trophies and achievements, bragging rights' ordeal. Sly Cooper on Playstation 2 was fun without it as well. Games like these did not need this system and I feel this just diminished what true gaming is over the years: Enjoying a classic on your console that you can return to at any point and just have fun with. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a perfect example of the game being tailored around this system instead of just being a fun experience in and of itself.
Personally, I was sick of Queen's Blood as soon as I reached the Gold Saucer during my first playthrough. I felt I was playing more Queen's Blood than Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It was physically giving me a headache whenever the name was mentioned. Gears and Gambits is a complete mess with game design and the Proto-Relics was unnecessary imo. We had enough summons as it were, so rather than Gilgamesh, I'd have preferred that dev time to be spent more on letting us play sections with Zack instead, considering they dropped the ball there big time. Enough of my ranting, and I'm sorry this comment turned into an essay. There was just a lot to unpack with this topic.

Why do people make that sound like a bad thing? Too time consuming? I’d rather pay $70 for a game that takes 300 hours over a game that costs $70 and takes 10 hours to complete.
Mini games almost ruined this game for me. I don’t think a DLC would be well received, the Platinum run was brutal and burned many folks out. I don’t mind it being tough to get a platinum trophy, but I do mind how much time it required. For instance, having to reset your equipment and watch cutscenes if you lose to Rufus and Sephiroth is the developers trolling and it waste so much time for battles they knew we would have to figure out. Also, let us reset our equipment and Materia without exiting the damn combat simulator and having to listen to Chadley talk about his uninteresting travels. We have several 10 round sequences for crying out loud and against enemies that present a multitude of challenges.
Still pursuing the platinum I don’t mind the difficult battles but those mini games took some real dedication. Maybe ill have it by the time part 3 comes out

I don't have the game and will probably skip it (and part 3) since I have a computer only and am not interested in spending 600$+ to play 1 game, even if it could have been my favorite game of all time...really sad, the trillogy could have been my favorite games of all time if I could have played them without all the spoilers I could not avoid for 2+ years on the first part, for second part already like 6 months... I decided this story/character/narrative heavy game is not worth my money if all these things are spoiled for me personally... remake was a sad experience when almost every meaningfull scene was spoiled in some way already...so it made me upset enough to not even bother buying the last 2 parts...
Edit: oh and I just want to say, some could argue the story is 27 years old so my reasons are weird, but I actually did not know most of it since I only played Crisis Core as a teenager and there was not much talk about ff7, so I knew almost nothing and had it spoiled entirely during the exclusive time.

Since PC will probably be out next year, you still have lots of time to wait for a sale if you want. Based on your fandom, I’m just surprised that console exclusivity is enough to ruin the game for you. There’s a good chance without Sony funding that Square Enix might’ve not even been able to make it. With the Avengers flop, they might even be a completely different company. They aren’t exactly doing well. So I choose to reward them when they do good work. Other stuff, I haven’t supported.
I did not get the platinum trophy for this game because it was not worth it. Lots of useless tasks and garbage collecting for Johnny.
What I am after part 3 is a version of the game(S) that the parts of the game merged into one so you do not have close game down start the next part and keep some upgrade/item progressions.
I think because there is not much stuff left in the story for part3 we gonna get advent children dlc on part 3. You know to milk the franchise completely for the new trilogy

I get what you’re saying in terms of the platinum trophy but there’s a difference between difficult but fair to WTF difficult and straight up BS and unnecessary. I liked the mini games in Rebirth but there was no reason to literally do every single one on hard mode just to get the trophy. As for the combat simulator the one in Remake was tough but doable but Rebirth? Absolute BS. Unless you have a guide on how to do certain fights good luck trying to do it on your own cuz you will die in mere seconds. I’d rather take on Weiss before I do Bonds of Friendship or Rulers of the Outer Worlds again. Even though I got the platinum you can forget about me doing any of the mini games again except Queens Blood

A dlc with Cid and Vincent, as a testing ground for their gameplay, wouldn't be bad. People would like it and SE could test things before the last part.

1. All mini games should optional. I agree with many people that it does break immersion unless it is part of the scene like a cinematic action sequence.
2. Not pertaining to this game but all games platinum trophies should only be single player experiences and have a separate section or multiplayer trophies only. I’m not a trophy hound but it irks me to no end knowing that some trophies are impossible to unlock without forcing you to play online.
I would agree with the online part for sure. But honestly, i don’t understand why people put so much weight on a platinum trophy. The whole point is to enjoy the game. Getting platinum should automatically tell you that the achievements will be challenging and not meant for everyone. You can play rebirth straight through and turn it off when you’re done. That should be it. Trying to master mini games and then complaining about it doesn’t make any sense to me.
I absolutely agree that platinum and single player games that have online only trophies are bullshit. That's just a money grab imo. Total bs. I am a completionist and trophy hunter so seeing that break in there cuz of that drives me crazy
I wouldn't mind a DLC with a Cid drama somehow or even coming across Cait Sith briefly bearing leaving out Dirge or Vincent DLC content after a thrid game. Highwind origins perhaps. Maybe not ride the Highwind itself but the end of the DLC with a jubilant high point of its creation and all its glory.

I did play stellar blade and it was stellar. The story needed more refinement and depth as well as the world building. Gameplay was solid though.

Square absolutely nailed the combat with Rebirth. That’s one of the most addicting things about the game is the combat. It’s a perfect combination of mash and skill based use.
FFX was my favorite game of all time for 19 years, and I recently just tried going back to replay it since the remaster came out……and it was so difficult to stick with it because turn based is just so slow and boring now.
I would kill if Square would be able to make all of their games implement the new ATB system.

What good news? Ff7 was fucked since the first 45 minutes of part 1. This a fucking insult. And they still can't figure out why their stock took a big shit.
Edit: To be a little bit more fair, though... half way through ps4 to now been almost entirely disappointing.
