I was shocked to find out after I sat for 2 weeks waiting for Freightliner in Atlanta to change mine out last year. I didn't know they did that. Cold always brings out the leaks. I just had to change out the water pump on mean green and have 3 gallons of coolant on the truck. Stay warm and safe brother. ✌️😎🙏🇺🇸
And you seem to always stay way ahead of preventive maintenance. What's your opinion about the difference between using the screw type hose clamp compared to the pressure clamp? With me it depends on what I'm clamping. It's all about if expansion and contractions for temperature and material is needed. Sorry this probably could have been condensed to one sentence.
I generally prefer the screw type. But you’re right. Certain conditions work better with the pressure clamp. Especially a short hose like from the bottom of the reservoir to the water pump. Pressure clamps work best there
I too was going to lose my CDL. Went on the "low carb diet" combined with Intermittent Fasting and more walking (no cardio) and i was able to get my blood psi down and get a 2 year DOT physical again 👍🏻👍🏻. I am winning at life again.
BP is no joke, get it taken care of! Yes it is cold all over. We are from Wisconsin and retired in Charleston SC , the forecast for Wed is a high of 34 and ice and snow warning. Stay warm and enjoy the dry roads and sun. Good luck WTH your coolant issues!
I am sorry about the radiator. I am just glad you are not stuck on the side of the road. At least you were able to make it to where you need to be to have it fixed.
That’s always my biggest concern is being stuck on the side of the road. Especially in these temps. That’s why I did what I could to get to a shop and gutRDun!
I hate to hear about your BP up. So many things going wrong with you "new" truck, it's not a surprise that BP gone up. Plus problems with loads. I am glad my son is off the road even though it wasn't the best way to have to quit driving. Been scary but he is better. Thankful. Take care and get those numbers better. 🙏💙🙏
Take care of the BP, even if you gotta get on a med for a while you may be able to get off of it eventually. I've been on one for 15 years, it's not heavy duty but high BP is hereditary in our family so I've had to keep on it. Shoot, I went to Douglas and Buffalo yesterday, must've missed you somewhere. Came back down 59 and no wind thankfully! But it was hella cold! Stay safe today, winds are supposed to be a horror show on 25.
Trucking ain't easy on the body!! Being in the cold doesn't help!! Please start trying to walk about everyday, if you can. I started walking 2 years ago because my B/P started climbing! I began walking about a 1/4 mile every day. Gradually worked up to about 2.5 miles a day!! I do that 5 days a week. I have dropped 52 pounds in 2 years! Cut back on bread, fries, and pasta. I also drink 64 to 84 ounces of water every day. I weigh 275, I'm 6'1" and will be 72 on March 13th. Oh yeah my B/P is 132/86. Down from 168/105!!
Yes blood pressure readings are so different all day long it’s hard to make a decision on medication or just practice meditation which i am sure you already do clutch.hopefully you will be fine. Take care friend.
I just went and had my 2 year dot done; as you am facing a $5K repair job for various coolant and oil leaks, hang in there buddy we're gonna make it through with God's grace.
luckily I took a couple weeks vacation starting this week. My company truck was due for some recall or something anyways. keep warm out there. Should be better starting Wednesday
Hell, I flunked the BP test a LONG time ago. But, they (DOT) only gave me 2 weeks to get'er taken care of if I remember correctly. Been on BP meds ever since. And yes, I go to Urgent Care most of the time because seeing my primary care doctor takes months.
Ah geez! Son of a bee eye itch! Hang in there man. People that watch this channel get it - every damn thing we own came to us on a truck, and it ain't easy at all. I wish more people understood exactly how much it takes to operate a truck. Stay safe out there neighbor and stay warm.
The new style Cascadia radiator have aluminum tanks , don’t let them sell you an obsolete plastic tank radiator . Loosen the radiator cap while idling .
On Thursday for the DOT was 178/100. Then on Monday at the follow up visit. It was better at 146/95. So I have the cuff now. And will be monitoring myself. Hopefully won’t have the dreaded “white coat” issue
The top and bottom of all modern radiators are plastic. That’s where the problem always is. I e replaced so many radiators on so many trucks I’ve owned over the years. It always fails in the plastic
Clutch always something (or your case should i say sumthing), im beginning to think that ole CT1 was worth a rebuild, not ta mention all the creature features ya had in there....well hang in there, pray ya get rolling soon.... Speaking of temps ya I woke up at a truck haven parking rest area in Kentucky the other morning and 4 degrees 🥶...i wont mention the wind chill...lets just say i did a fast pretrip..lol....i run reefer now and the load i had was a 33 degree load, reefer actually putting some heat to maintain the temp....but i had a minus 10 load of butterball turkeys that went to Florida a fews back.. 🤔..okay have a safe one Clutch n watch the BP
G'evening Clutch ☕☕ 🤠 . If you get a chance you may want to stop at an auto parts store and pick up a couple tubes of radiator stop leak bro. That way you'll have it in the 🚛 just in case. They can come in real Handy sometimes. Especially if you are out in the middle of nowhere and you need to come up with a quick solution to a radiator leak so you can make it to a pickup or a drop off or into a town where you can get it taken care of. On the flip side of that coin you can always pull in MacGyver and grab a couple eggs out of your refrigerator and crack them in the radiator to stop the leak that way & give Rusty some Scooby snacks for me my friend 😂😂 ..
Problem with Stop Leak is it can also plug the passage ways in your heater core and any other coolers. It's an old solution that isn't compatible with the modern micro-channel coolers.
To lower blood pressure it takes sodium, Magnesium and Potassium, by simply cutting out salt, it makes blood pressure go higher. Source Kevin Rutherford. I also started snacking on small carrots, raw. Stress is a killer, good luck.
Everyone having coolent issues. Probably because everyone buying the low cost coolent. Look at the shelf’s most store have lots of stock but the cheap stuff has only a few left. Cheaper to keep adding coolent then buy a water pump job.
Sorry for your bad luck clutch. Yes if I go to a doctor my first blood pressure check is always high. After a bit they check it. It’s fine. Called white coat syndrome. Best of luck old buddy. Rusty is looking cute as always.
BP is no joke. That, along with irregular and inadequate sleep and eating crap and being overweight, can lead to STROKE. Take care of yourself. Don't end up a statistic.
Clutch we got get that bp down start on a low sodium diet, STOP STRESSING!!!!!!! REDUCE ON SMOKING EXERCISE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT!!!!!! I KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS SO SORRY YOUR HAVING BREAKDOWNS WITH THE TRUCK DEAR LORD PLEASE KEEP YOUR HANDS ON CLUTCH AND RUSTY!!!!! KEEP THEM SAFE AND HEALTHY AMEN!!!!!!!!!! MAKE SURE YOUR DRINKING PLENTY OF WATER IT WILL HELP WITH YOUR BP AGAIN STOP STRESSING!!!!!!!!!! THATS RUNNING YOUR BP UP!!!!!!!!!!! And we're expecting ice here in Florida SNOW!!!!!! THEY SAY OH LORD PLEASE LET IT WARM UP ITS COLD OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!!! AWE BLESS YA HEART RUSTY
Haven’t you learned you always pop some aspirin before a dot physical it brings the BP down You can also memorize the eye chart. So everyone should thank you for losing coolant and clearing the roads
Try cutting the carbs. No fructose or sugar. Try intermittent fasting. Cut back on breads and pastas. Try carnivore. That will make you lose weight. When you lose weight, your blood pressure will go down.
@ClutchTrucker I know well about the trucking industry Clutch, it does suck in general for drivers, because there is far too much bad about it. I talk to about around 150 commercial truck drivers per week, every week, for the last 22 years. I see more drivers than not doing alright, not having issues. I also get a lot that are having days like you have that I see you experience in your videos. Most of your videos that I've watched everyone of yours for the last 4 years (and I love all of them) has a mixture. Your last non whiner was when you're not driving. Again, thank you so much for what you do, and you take care.
I was shocked to find out after I sat for 2 weeks waiting for Freightliner in Atlanta to change mine out last year. I didn't know they did that. Cold always brings out the leaks. Thanks Tony. BTW. trailer is doing great. Again thanks
I generally prefer the screw type. But you’re right. Certain conditions work better with the pressure clamp. Especially a short hose like from the bottom of the reservoir to the water pump. Pressure clamps work best there

That’s awesome!
I need to get my folding bike back in the truck. I know that’ll help a lot
Thank God you keep up with your BP- Prayers up
Take care of your BP very important to watch and treat. Safe travels!
Yikes Clutch! Sweet Rusty 🥰🐶 Stay warm, be safe 🤍💙
Thank you, I will
Feel your pain!!! Already replace my radiator and water pump back to back!!!
Ouch

It's freezing 🥶 everywhere stay safe and warm thanks for the update 🎉
This cold is hard on people and equipment. Take care of yourself don't mess around with your health. Stress can play havoc with your health too.
Thanks
I feel your pain just spend 7k on repairs on my first trip out since new years
Trucking ain't cheap, that's for sure.
Don't feel bad Rusty my little king doesn't like the cold either 🥶🥶
Clutch good luck with your BP, strees will do that.
Thanks for the well wishes!
I've been getting a 1 year medical for years, BP can be a big problem, take care.
Thanks

That’s awesome. I need to get my folding bike back on this truck. It’s still in the Coronado. But that was obviously a big help
Stay safe and warm
Yes blood pressure readings are so different all day long it’s hard to make a decision on medication or just practice meditation which i am sure you already do clutch.hopefully you will be fine. Take care friend.
At my second visit yesterday. It was already much better. And I was still super stressed then.
Clutch you gotta start taking care of yourself, little changes can make a huge difference.
Working on it
Yepp rough times 😂😂😂😂
I’m sorry to hear about your bp. I know you’ll get it straightened out. I’m also sorry to hear about the truck. Be safe and God Bless you.
Thank you, I will
Stay warm and safe ❤️
I just went and had my 2 year dot done; as you am facing a $5K repair job for various coolant and oil leaks, hang in there buddy we're gonna make it through with God's grace.
Appreciate the encouragement. God bless!
Absolutely “re-dic-iu-lous”!😉
Ri-cock-u-los
I was by the year before I retired , I had Sarcoidosis. Never heard of it? Either did I. Lots of hoops but made it to 62 , nice!

luckily I took a couple weeks vacation starting this week. My company truck was due for some recall or something anyways. keep warm out there. Should be better starting Wednesday
Good timing! Enjoy your vacation and stay safe!

Yeah, that's about right.
My cousin Vinny was a classic. That guy that played the judge was perfect for that part
He was the lead in “The Munsters”. Classic actor
I lived my whole life in Minnesota and I'd rather be sweating bullets Temperatures are going to get warmer hang in there it will get better.

Appreciate the support. It's a tough job but worth it.
BTW. We gotta meet up sometime when I’m home.
@ I’d love that. We’re just a few minutes north of you guys, just off Whitney Rd.
🙏💙
The new style Cascadia radiator have aluminum tanks , don’t let them sell you an obsolete plastic tank radiator . Loosen the radiator cap while idling .
Thanks for the tip!
Damn son, thats a tuff week
Potassium vitamin will do wonders for your blood pressure
Also flush your coolant every few years
Thanks
My Blood Pressure was 190 / 116 I got on the keto genike.
In my blood pressure, went to normal.
Hi CT! What was your (high) blood pressure at? Thanks
On Thursday for the DOT was 178/100. Then on Monday at the follow up visit. It was better at 146/95. So I have the cuff now. And will be monitoring myself. Hopefully won’t have the dreaded “white coat” issue
Get that BP under control soon. High BP is dangerous.
Yep
praying for ya
Spotted rolling at the 310 on 90 in SD 👋🏼
Waving back at ya
radiators plastic or metal? stay safe...and warm....
The top and bottom of all modern radiators are plastic. That’s where the problem always is. I e replaced so many radiators on so many trucks I’ve owned over the years. It always fails in the plastic
Mr CT How much paid for the radiator?
I paid $975 for my PET 579 BUT the labor was 1300😢😢 BS Mechanic made F more money than as 😢😅😅
Radiator was 2K. Labor about $900. So in total about 3K
I feel for you clutch no wonder your blood pressure is high, so glad I'm retired
Same here I had enough of the bullshit
You quit the cigs yet… don’t fool with your health you’ve seen those swollen ankles at the fuel island
Clutch always something (or your case should i say sumthing), im beginning to think that ole CT1 was worth a rebuild, not ta mention all the creature features ya had in there....well hang in there, pray ya get rolling soon.... Good idea! I'll add that to the truck supplies.
Pulled into a Pilot In Mass. Last night to grab a quick shower.
Started backing into spot and radiator blew on me.
$4,500...
Ouch. I guess the 3K I paid is a bargain
Eat a couple of bananas and oranges a day. Helps keep that pressure down. And lay off the salt.

Get a meter, do that once a week... 120 is okay... 😅
Do you have sleep apnea. Your neck looks well over 18". This can cause high blood pressure.
Sorry for your bad luck clutch. Yes if I go to a doctor my first blood pressure check is always high. After a bit they check it. It’s fine. Called white coat syndrome. Best of luck old buddy. Rusty is looking cute as always.
No carbohydrates and no sugar
BP is no joke. That, along with irregular and inadequate sleep and eating crap and being overweight, can lead to STROKE. Take care of yourself. Don't end up a statistic.
Oh my no wonder u blood pressor is up
No wonder your BP is up! Hopefully it will settle back down but its good you are going to monitor it. L
Clutch we got get that bp down start on a low sodium diet, STOP STRESSING!!!!!!! REDUCE ON SMOKING EXERCISE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT!!!!!! So everyone should thank you for losing coolant and clearing the roads
That’s a good one 😂
And you’re right on the aspirin.
Can you come to Atlanta and get your snow ?
I guess you didn't get your leak fixed, just postponed !
The fix on the elbow probably in a way forced the radiator failure by fixing a pressure leak that the old radiator couldn’t handle
@ClutchTrucker don't go oem with the radiator, prices are a killer. I put a northern radiator in my kw 660 7 years ago and still going strong...
Go on diability and rest up.. a couple months off every few years wont hurt. Get your health in check its kinda a big deal. DUH
Just don't crack your block
Try cutting the carbs. No fructose or sugar. Try intermittent fasting. Cut back on breads and pastas. Try carnivore. That will make you lose weight. When you lose weight, your blood pressure will go down.
You're going to have to take blood pressure medication until you lose enough weight.
I gave you me email address and have been looking for an email from you. I woulda bought breakfast
I’m trying to respond to everyone. Sometimes it takes a while. Thanks for the offer.
you could change your diet, stop eating salt, get some exercise.
Thanks for the advice!
@@ClutchTrucker If I make a suggestion will you get angry with me?
Everything in the title is part of trucking and you learn to deal with it. Or quit.
True. I’m just showing the reality
When are you EVER going to do a video where you don't whine and things go right with you? Take it easy buddy, and always thank you for what you do.
I do. But trucking is full of crap. I show the reality. I have plenty of videos showing good. But most people don’t watch them as much.
@ClutchTrucker I know well about the trucking industry Clutch, it does suck in general for drivers, because there is far too much bad about it.
