The film, Man on Fire, is not directly taken from a true story but instead inspired by a novel of the same name written by A.J. Quinnell and adapted for the big screen by Brian Helgeland and Tony Scott. ... The second event that inspired the novel was the kidnapping of J. Paul Getty's grandson.
Roberto Sosa as Daniel Sanchez, "The Voice". He is based on a real kidnapper, Daniel Arizmendi López. Gero Camilo as Aurelio Sanchez. Based on Aurelio Arizmendi López, the brother of Daniel Arizmendi López.

Also it's the 2nd film adaptation - ironically the director Tony Scott wanted in on the 1st adaptation in the 80s and the producers didn't have the confidence to give it to him that time owing to his low experience.

I read a letter wrote by Pita a few years back, now a young adult & still under federal protection in the US. She wrote it on the anniversary of Creasey’s death , mentioned that she got a sacred tattoo of the little “Creasey bear “ with John’s initials tattooed on her chest over her heart. She explained that Creasey was the closest thing she ever felt to a father , stating her life is forever indebted to his sacrifice for her. Had it not been for Creasey’s determination in wiping out the crime ring she’d of never been released. She talks about the damage he created and the fear his single actions put in kidnapping organizations over the time he took to hunt everyone down. Everyone including Creasey believed pita was dead so he was on a sole mission to kill every single human bieng involved and at tthe end of his journey with just the voice left to kill when he recieved the best news of his life, that Pita was alive. Many wonder why he didn’t negotiate to keep his own life when he had the voices pregnant wife and brother , he could have easily but the reason he didn’t was because of the mortal gunshot wound to his chest he recieved from the brother, he knew he had just hours to live . The reason he didn’t bother with a vest was again becasue he thought pita was dead, he didn’t want to live beyond his revenge with the pain of losing Pita. Sadly it resulted in his mortal wound. His body was recovered with NO signs of torture or any additional wounds showing he passed away before they could. It was said that the voice intentionally didn’t desecrate his body because of Creasey’s insane amount of connections to the CIA, US Special Operations and his best friends powerful mercenary for hire organization and he feared retaliation by these groups after having everyone involved wiped out by a single CIA assassin veteran.
She stated she misses him every single day still & still can’t fathom that Creasey willingly traded his life for hers so she could grow up. Because Creasey literally wiped out everyone involved from police officers, anti kidnapping division personel, the voices network and a number of laundering businesses of cartels involved including the dance club, the US Government got Pita and her mom out of Mexico and into federal protection becasue of the amount of groups that could retaliate but I hope she’s able to live as much of a normal life as possible. The letter never mentions her “father” which makes sense , imagine your dad agreeing to your kidnapping as a little girl . Man it’d be painful. I wish John had lived as he surely would have played a consistent part in Pitas life beyond but it’s important to remember that he suffered terribly from PTSD, a TBI and a severe case of trauma that is common among military Special Operators , CIA assassins etc that kill a lot of people , when they retire they often end up with this from taking so much life. The end of his life couldn’t have ended better for him, Pita saved his life, she was the first person he allowed himself to Love in decades , then the wiping out of the kidnapping organization and ending saving Pita just before dying and ending his life trauma . RIP John Creasey

"Some guy's action movie"...that guy is Tony Scott (R.I.P.). Tony was every bit the director his brother Ridley is. Ridley is good at making films with huge scope and imagination while Tony excelled at shooting tension and pulling performances out of actors...Revenge, True Romance, Crimson Tide, Man on Fire, etc... Home run after home run. It's a travesty he isn't around to still make masterpieces.

The scene where Creasy is drinking and goes to shoot himself features the song "The Downward Spiral (the bottom)", meanwhile the scene where he decides to go to war features the song "The Mark Has Been Made". They couldn't have picked two better songs for these moments in the film.

(Heck, throughout the entire movie, come to think of it.) And Radha Michell, who played Lisa, was intimidated when she first met Dakota Fanning. Talk about extreme talent at such a young age.

@@justtrustash hey brother, I just watched this reaction again as this is one of my favorite movies and your passion for it , I understand so I treat you it now and then and just saw your response and wanted to say Thankyou. I’m in process of preparing my case taking my ex to court to fight. For custody of my amazing daughters that she’s been unlawfully locking me out of their lives and alienating me as their father telling them I don’t see them becasue I don’t care enough about them when in actuality I send her 3-5 messages every day to set up my pickup but she jsut ignores them, so I’m taking her to court and fighting for custody and every minute she’s taken from my life’s chance to be a father , all I’ve ever wanted to be. I’m glad my time in court is nearing but every minute of every day is absolutely gut wrenching missing my babies 24/7. I raised my youngest , my baby from birth to3 years old , she was never out of my arms and she was instantly a daddy’s girl that would cry as an infant if anyone else held her but me , never letting me out of her sight and my middle daughter thst I adopted from my ex’s piece of shit ex husband having a dad daughter amazing rare relationship , she’s felt like my biological daughter since the day I met her . I adopted her and her older sister so they wouldn’t have to feel the hurt every day of their biological dad never calling or visiting , never sending birthday or Christmas gifts and seeing them at 7 and 8 years old trying to show a tough face and say they’re fine he doesn’t call or se them and then seeing my middle daughter minutes later in her bed silently crying it broke my heart , I wanted to destroy him! And jsut a few days later her and sister came into the bedroom one night and asked if they could ask me something , I said of course and they asked if I would want to adopt them from him. I fell apart and was SO honored and felt SO LOVED , for 2 daughters to ask their new step dad to adopt them and remove thst link to their POS was amazing. I sound for sure!! I called him thinking this piece of shot won’t let me adopt them jsut to be a dick but to my shock 2 minutes into our first time talking and explaining to him they feel like biological daughters to me thst I love with my life, that when the adoption is signed I’m putting them as the beneficiary’s of a very large life insurance policy thst I want to split between then to make sure if soemthingg happened to me that they’d have enough money to not have to ever work if they don’t want to , pay for college , buy a home and car , just make sure their financially take. Care of. When I mentioned the $5M policy he said well you’re a hell of a lot better man than me or anyone I know becase I wouldn’t adopt those 2 from my wife’s e. ! I was furious he’d say such a terrible thing and said it’s MY lottery win to be able to legally become their father , show them I love them thst much and he said “ya,… so I’ll sign the papers desolving my legal times , and give them to u;..I’ll sign them today if you can get a legal letter saying you won’t come after me for not paying child shoot and there’s a Harley Davidson I want so bad, if you will transfer $29,000 to my account they’re yours . That piece of shit sold the 2 most amazin daughters for a Harley Davidson, they were worth $20k to him !?? He relinquished his tights and fatherhood responsibilities to me that will be their legal father permanently. I adopted them at 7 and 8 years old and when my ex and I divorced a couple years ago I told her to never ever ask me to give up my daughters , I wouldn’t do that for all the money in the world. The papers were signed the week my baby daughter was born, fron single to father of a 7 year old 8 year old and new born in jsut 2 years . Luckiest man alive but this is why it’s so painful My middle daughter and I are extremely CLOSE , love her with all my heart and laying in bed each night knowing al 3 of my babies are laying in bed wondering why I don’t see them or talk to them (since the ex tells them I don’t care ) the hurt my 2 oldest must feel wondering why 2 dads have “abandoned them” kills me!!! And my baby not knowing where I disappeared to and missing daddy is the worst hurt I’ve ever felt , I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy , taking their children from them illegally. Knowing their being manipulated by my ex daily! I sent her a text message and gave her one last chance to do he right thing or I’d take her to court and fight for primary custody of all 3 of my daughters with every day she toon my time away givin tto me consecutively with my children. I told her I’ll fight until my baby is 18 years old if needs be to show them what Shri worth to me .
My point is while this is one of my favored becasue it’s amazing and pita remind me so much of my girls , I get this synchronize feeling with Denzel knowing how much they changed my life , and I’d do the same thing if any of my daughters were taken I’d spend the rest of my life searching and hunting down the responsible . I get so dramb angry that her parents were never around. Becaue so many parents are like this, they miss their kids growing up and I can’t tell you, the thing that hurts me the most aside from knowing they are hurting but each day that passes is a day I would have been with them and making memories and showing them how much I love and adore them every moment but I realize all they rhevday each day thst my ex has stolen each of these days from my life as a dad , and those days never come back : their jsut gone. My baby went into kindergarten this year and I was dying to be there to see her off but my ex jsut ignored my attempts daily . There ARE people that have their kids kidnapped for money all the time, sick fucks !! And people like my ex exist, a “mom” that will unlawfully keep your kids from ya KNOWING Ahes creating emotional damage to them by doi Bf this , damaged thst wil take ears of there’ll for them to us so.
Anyway amazing movie and motivation for me to be tough and hand in there . Thanks man

Ash, love your reactions mate. Another film featuring a badass protecting a young girl is Leon The Professional, featuring The incomparable Gary Oldman... And if you like him, The Fifth Element (also by Luc Besson), and True Romance (written by Tarantino and featuring a LEGENDARY cast) are guaranteed winners. I've seen enough of your reactions and I know your preferred style of film. You can't go wrong with any of those three...trust.

Dakota Fanning is the name of the young girl (actress) and she’s amazing. She was also in War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise and she killed it. You should watch that film. Really really good. A lot of emotion aswell as action.

Bro...this little girl is Dacota Fanning (born in Feb. 1994) , she was a child actor in movies with Tom Cruise, Sean Penn, Denzel Washington, Robert de Niro, She also had a small part in the Rodrigo García film Nine Lives (released in October 2005), in which she shared an unbroken nine-minute scene with actress Glenn Close. Fanning completed filming on Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story (opposite Kurt Russell) in late October 2004. All that and more BEFORE she turn 13-14. She is still an actress.
YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE: ''Brimstone'' is a 2016 Western film written and directed by Martin Koolhoven, starring Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Emilia Jones, Kit Harington, and Carice van Houten. The film is a Dutch-American as well as French, German, Belgian and Swedish international production.

It seems like the critics were too dense in the head to understand the issue of a man suffering from PTSD, & also the dynamic of it being ignored in society, is a major issue. Plus it shows the gravity of corrupt officials that have grown to, out of control, proportions. A good film.

Dakota Fanning (“Pita”) got a lot of well deserved attention for her acting chops at a quite young age. Everyone that worked with her remarked on how professional and talented she was at just 7,8,9 years old. She was known for being extremely mature for her age.
You mentioned twilight.. don’t know if you watched them all but you May have seen her as a member of the “volturi”. blonde, hair tied back, big eyes. Think her name was Jane. (She was obviously older, like late teens) . IMO I’m sure she’s still a great actress but I feel like she’s chosen very poor movies to act in as an older teen/adult. Haven’t cared for a lot of what I’ve seen her in.
Dakota also gave amazing performances as a young child in “ I am Sam” and “Uptown Girls” I highly recommend both. They’re a bit slower paced dramas, so not sure if that’s your thing ( it’s definitely mine lol) but both movies have a lot of emotion, and she “killed it” at 7 and 8 years old

    • @michellelamar8965
      @michellelamar8965 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Her little sister is Elle Fanning (Maleficent, Hulu’s “The Great,” and many more.. she’s actually a bit more well known than Dakota now.. like I said.. I feel like Dakota has chosen her roles/movies poorly now that she’s grown up

Don't get me wrong, Dakota's performance was amazing, but for the all-time child performance; look no further than Natalie Portman's mind-boggling performance in "Leon: The Professional"! The entire film is like a "Master Class In Acting"; from Jean Reno to Natalie Portman and Gary Oldman, they are all absolutely brilliant; recommend going with the director's cut FYI!
