    The T15 is supported by EdgeTX as of v2.10.1, released 31st of May ;) The button layout is certainly different... but Jumper have always used a slightly different layout... the T16/T18 was the same (in being different)... RTN where you were expecting MDL. The internal SD card is much more reliable than it might sound to some people, as it is not actually just a internal MicroSD, but instead a dedicated XTSD flash memory chip, so should be much more reliable. The "6 Position" customisable switches are very powerful, as they allow you to group them however you want, and configure each button to be a momentary toggle or 2POS latching switch. EdgeTX 2.11 will make to it is also very easy to use them as a traditional 6POS switch, or 2 3POS, etc. The T14 is another interesting radio... same handset size, but B&W screen. This handset is actually a nice upgrade on the T16, and the screen is a lot easier to use now that it is no recessed.

      My comment was more about my surprise at the nightly build installed from the factory. As soon as a radio is officially supported, it should be shipped from the factory with it installed. Happy flying!

      @@Painless360 Indeed, that was my thoughts also. Review units are often sent / prepared before there is release firmware, as we can't make that available until after a manufacturer is ready to publicly acknowledge a new handset, so perhaps that is the case here also.

      Will be a nice upgrade from T16 if T15 had at least one shoulder slider. If they can put it into the T20 why not here 😢 then there will be truly multi purpose radio that I want.

    I have never been too interested in smaller radios, but this one seems well thought out and rather appealing. I kind of like the colour trend too. These are instruments for having fun, so why should they need to be grey? Thanks for bringing the T15 to our attention!

    Nice Tx, but for most Pocket is enough. Enough switches which you can't damage. Screen on a small side, but Inav lua saved me once when walksnail tx overheated. Recently my Pocket got into failsafe at 12km and dynamic 100mW, but that's enough for me in glorious HD. Happy flying !!!

    • @pfeerick
      @pfeerick 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ceziukozak The pocket is a nice radio (I have two of them), but one failing they have is the shoulder switches tend to go faulty after a while .. the switch loading makes it so they very easily make contact, or even bounce with some movement, resulting in some weird and wonderful "ghost in the machine" results... "Disarmed" "Armed"... WTH?! didn't even touch the button?!... thankfully it is usually just intermittent like that, and you can see the switch led flash and flicker the same. I have a flying buddy working to modify his with toggle switches though. 🤣

    • @pfeerick
      @pfeerick 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The antenna cover will separate if it is flexed too much, as it is only held together by the centre hub. If you don't want it to, you can put a drop of superglue on the locator pins on each end to make it stay closed up. Jumper have been using this same antenna shell since the TPro (although the first version couldn't rotate for vertical orientation, only fold out from the handset) and it seems to have held up on all the radios I have, even when being used as a carry handle! 😆

    I have been using my T15 for a few weeks now. There are differences between your unit and mine. The gimbals on mine look like VS-M gimbals except that they appear to be all plastic without the shiny trim accents. EdgeTX 2.10.2 supports this radio and I updated it immedately after I received it. I had to use the top right switch as my arm switch and that took a little getting used to after having used the RM TX16S and previously, the Taranis X9D. And it is all to easy to accidentally knuckle-disarm while moving the sticks if you are a pincher like I am. So I 3D-printed a guard that hopefully fixes that. One of my favourite features is the 6 customizable switches. Much more useful than the Radiomaster implementation. Unfortunately, the iNav Telemetry Lua script does not work on this radio and crashes it, putting it into Emergency Mode, But I suppose there will be support eventually.

    • @Greg__K
      @Greg__K 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How are your gimbals? Any jitter issues, or not staying centered after calibrating? I just got the T14 with the plastic gimbals, same internals as the "CNC" ones I believe, and I just started having issues. Sucks, because I really like the ergonomics of the radio, and actually like the smaller, lighter gimbals.

    • @dingr
      @dingr 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Greg__K The T15 has been my sole TX for the last month and a half. I actually like the plastic gimbals. No significant jitter at centre save the occasional plus or minus 1. Calibration has not been necessary even through hot and cool days. The one very occasional issue is that the touch screen does not work after power up. An immediate power-cycle always fixes it.

    • @Greg__K
      @Greg__K 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dingr I like the gimbals a lot, but one of them is definitely defective. It jitters from 0 to -6, then it’ll stick at 100, or bounce around randomly all over the place. Thankfully, I discovered this while flying in the sim and not my actual quad.
      I’ve owned several radios over the years, I’ve never seen this before. Otherwise I love the radio, the ergonomics are exactly what I was looking for.
      The problem now is that it’s hard to trust the gimbals, even if I replace it. Sounds like it’s not very common though, so maybe I just got unlucky.

      @@IDrone-l5m if a new model is similar to one I already have, I just make a duplicate and modify from there. Otherwise, I always set up a new model manually. I have never used a wizard. Crossfire module will only fit if you remove it from the JR module from the crossfire tx then reinstall it back in. If the handle were a little bigger there would be no problem. It could then be installed as one unit. I have so much crossfire equipment it will be a while before I switch completely to ELRS.

  • @IDrone-l5m
    @IDrone-l5m หลายเดือนก่อน

    I actually own this radio, so I am not just talking about it, and the only thing about it is that the LUA support for it is limited with Inav telemetry options. All the full-size radios, like the TX16S, etc., dominate the LUA telemetry addons in Github. This radio is not compatible with those LUA's. Most LUA programs will not work with the screen size of the T15 (480×320 resolution). I like the radio, but it will take time for the LUA developers to take an interest in it by creating LUA 's that are compatible with it. Because at this point, the radio is kinda like the redheaded stepchild in the RC family room.

    Thanks Lee, I really like this one! I'm trying to get back into the hobby after 15 years away flying only DJI drones. I want to have a serious play with Ardupilot for wings and I have so many questions about flight modes/telemetry etc, etc... It's all new to me as my last radio was a Sanwa RD6000! Would the Jumper be a good starter choice for use with Ardupilot and mission planner? Can you suggest a good flight controller for an electric glider (e-Hawk 1500) that I already have from back in the day? It's a V-tail. Do you fly at a club site, because I think I'm (very) close to your location and having club knowledge would be a great help. Cheers Mark

      This is a solid, modern basic radio but I'd prefer something from RadioMaster as their quality, support, spares and aftercare seem to be a little better.
      Ardupilot is good for wings, but INAV is too and can be a lot easier to setup - see my recent builds using both.
      I don't fly at clubs as I'm yet to find one that welcomes 'drones, flight contrlller and FPV' ;)

    I wish more car manufacturers watched this Channel. An RC transmitter needs to be capable of being operated by touch alone, so that the pilot can keep his eyes (and attention) on the model - which may at times be a very valuable speck in the sky. Look away and you've lost it.
    The locations of analogue buttons, sliders, switches and knobs can be learned very quickly and committed to muscle memory so that the pilot doesn't have to look down at safety-critical moments.
    That's not the case in most modern cars.
    Equipping them with attention-grabbing touch-screen displays may well be more opulent and 'futuristicky' than installing banks of buttons and switches - and also a lot cheaper to manufacture - but touch-screens are most definitely not a better way of controlling a ground vehicle operating in traffic. Great for jet airliners, lousy for cars.
    Anything that takes a driver's attention off the road is a bad thing. If you think it isn't (because you're such a brilliant driver 🙄), think about everyone else on the road who's not as great as you are. Think of the muffin behind you, too preoccupied with moving icons to stop when you do.
    Or the one approaching you from the opposite direction at 60 mph and looking for the electric seat adjustment controls.
    Or the one too busy scrolling through menus to avoid knocking someone off their bike.
    Installing fancy cruise-control is not a solution because it gives drivers a false sense of security. When (when, not if) the system malfunctions, the driver's mind isn't where it needs to be.
    Roads are built for people, not for vehicles; the safest and most adaptable thing on any road is an alert human driver. It'd be nice if car manufacturers took a leaf out of the RC Tx designer's manual and went back to analogue controls.
