Good to see best friends together. Enjoy your friendship always. Susie and Jelena are both Europeans with Filipino hearts. You may look different from Filipinos, but deep inside you both are Filipinos. Enjoy being together.
My best friend from Honolulu, Hawaii just finished building his house in Nueva Ecija, name of his property is "Aloha Farm." For Jelena, I hope you'll visit Bukidnon (Valencia/Malaybalay) in Mindanao one of 2 places i lived in Mindanao.
If I’m retired I want go samal Island love the weather and so beautiful beach no typhoon and very rich land that’s why fruits there is very sweet and cheap it’s better to all retired people
for me salted egg is like a condiment, not to be eaten alone but always with rice and or vegetables esp tomato and onion. happy Susie got to eat squid she likes! i prefer that way instead of adobo or squid cooked in its ink
Sisters of the ❤️🙂. They are both so pretty & fresh faced, seems like minimal makeup. (Though I have nothing against makeup, just that they both are quite beautiful one can see even with little to no cosmetics). The camera never lies as the saying goes. // Susie taking to mothering wholeheartedly. Her encouraging food comments to her friend struck me as quite motherly! Something like: it is bad, then it is good! Like pickles!🥒//mmm I luv ampalaya & bagoong (not together necessarily)😆 Fresh bagoong wud be fabulous, only jarred available for us.
To clarify, I guess most bagoong is in a jar. I meant fresher in the “closer to the source” sense, in that ours travels so far to us here in USA, like Lingayan brand bottles. Recently I tried a Thai brand when no Lingayan was available. It is good, but different (sweeter, hotter tho not very hot to me anyways, & other flavor variations) . I prefer Pinoy preparation🦐 overall.
How exciting that Jelena came to visit you both, Jonathan and Susie! The floating restaurant concept is quite interesting. Too bad the salted egg didn’t appeal to Jelena. The Chinese eat salted duck eggs and I buy mine at the local Chinese grocery, in my area in the US. I think eating it plain is too salty, but if you add it in salad, it’s really good. Also, the Filipino store in my area sells rice cake (puto) with salted egg topping. I think Jelena is only familiar with the food in Mindanao, which seems different from the food in Luzon. Take care and God bless you, Jonathan, Susie, and the baby. 🥰
Manggo in Nueva ecija is much higher price because is seasonal to harvest... Season if mango in nueva is bet between april to may here. That y is hig the price
oh well, that's the disadvantage! whereas mangoes in mindanao is all year long, there isn't any seasonal crap that's why the prices are the same all year round!
Mix the salted egg with tomatoes and red onion, you can add green mangoes if you like. Eat it as an appetizer or side dish with your favorite fried fish. Salted eggs are not generally meant to be eaten on its own.
The way of cooking ampalaya so that you will not taste its bitter...follow my instructions. Cook first all the ingredients, then put ampalaya on top & never touch or mix it. Let boil until cook. Thats it
I'm a Filipino and I don't like that much the salted egg and I eat that with tomato local vinegar and a little bit of fish bagoong... I buy the salted egg that's not too salty just the mild salted egg will do for me... 🤩😍🥰👍🙏❤
Itlog na pula basically is a boiled egg the only difference is that it was fermented with salt and already painted with red food color in the outside. Actually I don't like it even if I'm a Filipino. Bagoong on the other side is more tastefully good for me😊
I haven’t viewed a lot of Jelena’s channel, but I saw a fairly recent one in which she prepared a delicious appearing chicken & pork adobo- like a boss. 👩🍳 Everyone enjoyed it quite obviously, even wee one (niece) who is an age that they don’t pretend to be polite. I believe she has cooked other Phil cuisine, she has spoken of it, so I think she does enjoy it. But …as I recall Susie’s & her Baguio trip, J. is not a vegetarian & that no doubt impacts the Phil dishes that she enjoys.
I am filipino and I also don't like salted egg that much, it is too salty for me and some ampalaya dish are too bitter, so it's okay if Jelena is just being honest about these foods.
Thank you for watching Guys! 🥰 Don't forget to subscribe to Jelena as well!

Aahh I remember now why that place looked familiar. Pinoy in Equatorial Guinea went there a couple months ago.
The loudest vlogger, you mean.

Salted egg is ok if you mix it with tomatoes. But by itself, no.

Jalena that salty egg is papular in asia ..not only in the philippines if you have been in hong kong and china salty egg is pappular with their food.
That's right it's even in Mooncakes! I didn't realize I've had them even in sweet good before.
@@SusieinthePhilippines jalena seem look like not papular in different food in asia .. she need more motivation to fine out 😅😁😄

Jelena is queen of durian and seaweeds 😁 I love those, too but more rare / expensive in Luzon.
Beautiful English buldog. Love them..
Your first baby will be a girl with Jonathan❤😊🎉
Why do you think so? Many people are guessing that haha
We will find out soon 😍
