When you buy house and lot, most likely the quality is so, so because the contractor tends to minimize the quality of materials and the quality of workmanship, they build it faster sacrificing the quality and to maximize their profit. I've seen a lot of housing projects that in 2 years or 3, problems start to come up, like roof leaks, plumbing issue, cabinet or door problem, etc. When you buy lot only, and you have it build by yourselves (of course with a licensed contractor), you can decide which materials they will use and also how they construct it, plus the layout of your house which I know you will own it for a long time. What if your parents buy a farmland, you can just buy portion of it and build your dream home there, you can live near your parents and most likely the future Lolo and Lola will love it seeing their grandkids growing up near them. My suggestions only. Still the final decisions are yours. Have a lovely day.

I certainly agree with you. If I build a home in the Philippines, I want it from scratch and designed by me. I want my home with walk-in closets in every room. Most homes in the Philippines don't have closets unless built by the owner. A person like me needs large closets. I like buying new clothes all the time. It's a bad habit that I can't get rid of. I want my home earthquake and typhoon proof. It's worry free from disasters if you make it your way. Use the best materials that will last a long time. At least maintainance free for many years to come.

You can have a builder that will design all about what you wanted in your house,the designs, interior,paints,furniture and fixtures,if you're not quite satisfy they can redo according to your preference,no worries , then if its ready to stay ,you can come anytime at your new dream house
To maximize use of space in your new home, I suggest combining living area and dining area in one space. By that I mean having a custom-made very long sofa (bamboo with custome made cushions?), maybe 2, or 2 large chairs and one long coffee table the size of a long dining table, to function both as living area and dining area. Just my thought. Been toying with that idea myself. :)

Susie for me is much better to choose a lot in a corner and a bigger space preferred for a small business to make you not boring in times of your vacant times. I have been to four houses and four of them had a sari-sari store that I am installing in four places as my business ( junk shops ) scattered in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and all of those in subdivisions but not in a very expensive places.
80 sqm is a good size lot just pick the the lot that is on the mainroad ,whats good in building a house is you can choose a design and the materials you wanna use ....

I think riding with a car especially at an early stage is safer for your baby coz the first stage of pregnancy is the most delicate part. Riding a scooter is so bumpy and could be bad.

Be sure you are not in any floodplain. I bet you're parents are really excited to see heir granchild. We have our one and only gfrandchild 2 years ago and we are so excited, It's hard to raise a baby here because of daycare, and people to take care of her. Be careful of shoddy builder/developer
