the best explanation of all. I've always asked the differences between these two and they all end up with the simple answer discord is for gaming and slack is for work
well he just said the same thing more descriptively
Thanks very much for the overview. This made my day to decide on using the best platform for my purposes.😀
Great concise review, exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
This was a SUPER helpful post. Thanks!
Well explained! Great video! 👏👏
the new forum option of discord community seems to mimic the threading of Slack.
Just trying it out on my discord server, and it seems pretty slick.
This was really helpful, thank you 😊
Great comparison!
Hi Trevor, nice video, I need to make a digital community where members can upload their audio files and then all the community members can comment on their upload. Like we had in Sound Could Groups. But since sound cloud groups is gone, I am looking for an alternative. Can you please suggest something?...thanks in advance ....
Cool mic arm, could you share what brand is it?
What software are you using to record video and microphone sound simultaneously?
When you did the amenity bit, was an instant laughter for me, as it was an issue for me during a college presentation I did with a group I was randomly matched up with forthe semester. The inside joke, is my hetero-secure outgoing self was put with possibly 4 of the hottest girls at the University(sidenote, I was quickly a popular dude as many other dudes thought they were my harem, needless to say, We had a lot of fun that year and still keep in touch. I kept it clean for comments, respectfully. But college is an experience that if not FUN, you are failing. Unless your the smartypants Doctor/Science/PHD career than it needs to be more aware of grades. I did what I HAD to, in order to pass, but the experiences i had were lifelong lessons😉😉👌👌😎😎😎😎
One of the few times LUCK was on my side with that random matching group, hahaha
Well done, keep going
Would you please help me?
I have an online community that's currently in a FACEBOOK GROUP, and need options to migrate out elsewhere.
To me the current Slack offering makes zero sense for an external community, the main points being the amnesia (max 90 days search) and the very steep pricing. Also: the Slack CEO himself mentioned that the Slack product is (at least currently) being built/aimed at internal company communication, so you can't expect them to build any features for you if you do run an external community.
Discord on the other hand keeps adding features that cater to large external communities. And they do so at a price point that will really make me question your sanity if you'd pick Slack over Discord for an external community in 2023...
3:35 look at dat smile :3
Next..slack vs flock
The 90 days max search history on free plan on Slack is just brainrot, I prefer Discord. Slack is for boomers even they don’t want to admit it
I dislike the spammy nature of Discord and the use of pseudonyms.
