@Cezar Daniel Alexandru wattpad does have good fanfiction, there are way too many, ofcourse youre not gonna like all of them, but the good ones are worth giving a try...some of them are just as the original stories...not every writer changes entire personality of the characters
I don't know any of the books he is talking about or I don't even like the genre he generally reads but I also don't care because I just love how passionate he talks about books, it's the same with me so I love his videos.😊
Me: only writes on Wattpad but never reads anything because I don’t like waiting for the next part Also me: writes a chapter, posts chapter then doesn’t post for a good 3 months 😌
Next year, I want to stop pressuring myself to read lots of books and focus more on the quality of the books I’m reading. Reading shouldn’t feel like a chore!
I've been watching so many Jesse videos lately that last night I had a dream that he was the king of Bookland and I was a peasant but he sent me on a quest to retrieve new books for the kingdom 😂
I’ve switched from Goodreads to Storygraph 😍 I highly recommend! It’s still in Beta and they are absolutely listening to users feedback. It’s independently owned and have a subscription option, but the standard free version is really great too. 😀
Barnes and Noblé lmao you got me there for a second! RIP Books and Bed. I really liked this series but excited to see what content you create in 2021! I just watched Dash and Lily on Netflix and I thought it was really good.
OH MY GOD. THE GILDED WOLVES AND THE SILVERED SERPENTS ARE TWO OF MY FAVOURITE BOOKS EVER!!! Roshani is amazing and the writing is so beautiful and the world and the characters are everything!!!
I think a reading goal for me in 2021, will be to not worry about the numbers and just read what I want, when I want to. I’ve been too obsessed with increasing my reading year after year, but now I wanna be more relaxed with my reading moving forward.
I’ve also felt kinda frustrated about Goodreads lately. Even though I’m still going to use it, I’ve also started using StoryGraph. It has a lot of features that Goodreads doesn’t have like a DNF shelf and a section for content warnings. I don’t think I’m going to hit my Goodreads goal either this year. Some of my goals for next year are to read some nonfiction, finally read the Twilight series and my first Cassandra Clare book.
I don't know if this will help you, but I switched to StoryGraph. It's the same concept as Goodreads but here and there a bit differently executed. It's still in the beta but I already really really like it. Especially their search system is really good. They also have a lot of different graphs about what you've read and your reading preferences and I'm just a sucker for that. Also because it's still in the beta they will add a lot more and you can write them or vote for features you want to be included. I almost forgot. You can transfer your Goodreads data so nothing will be lost!!!😊
@@Faerieshimmer I think you can pay something if you want to support them and get a few little extras like comparing two graphs side by side, but it's completely optional. So yeah, basically it's free.
I loved The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes! So many people were super down on it saying it's too.much sympathy for the devil, but I loved the glimpse at how the Hunger Games were shaped into what we originally saw and how much of a hand Snow had in that.
The alex rider adaptation is really good. Those books were my childhood so I was so happy to see they did it really well. Also the title song is really cool, I get it stuck in my head all the time :)
Your channel is like a favourite book, like no matter what's actually happening in the plot, I'll still read it and love it because the characters are great. So it doesn't matter what the video is about or if I've read any of the books, I'll watch just because its your video 😂

61 books is still a lot of books!! I am very proud to say that I actually CRUSHED my reading goal this year in a very uncharacteristic fashion. I challenged myself to read 26 books, about one every two weeks which I thought would be manageable. That is over twice what I read in my terrible reading year last year where I read 12 books. Not only have I read 26 books, but I've read 51 so far, nearly twice what I wanted to. Living alone during a pandemic with only audiobooks to keep you company has its pluses. Other than that, yes, 2020 has been a very bad year XD
I completed my reading goals twice this year! I set it to 24 books (2 books per month) and I finished it in October and I decided to change it to 38 and I completed that today *smiley face* and now I'm going to do a full 40 because we only have a month left. I decided to read Phantom of the Opera and One day in December. In terms of next year, I want to get out of my comfort zone as well. I'm thinking of reading more contemporaries and thrillers because I read mostly fantasy and probably set my goal for 50 books.
Thanks for the wonderful video, Jesse! Your videos always cheer me up and make me smile. I’ll miss your Books in Bed series, but I’m excited for what else you have in store! I’m currently reading The Wicked King in the Folk of the Air series by Holly Black and I’m really liking it so far! I highly recommend if you haven’t read it yet. Thanks for the wonderful content, Jesse, I hope you have a wonderful day!
Thank you so much for saying that 2020 doesn't count! It made me feel so much better about my absolutely failed reading goals. I'm too many books behind, it's embarrassing! And while I know a lot of people's reading went up this year (due to lockdowns, quarantine, social distancing etc), I found it really hard to concentrate on reading in the midst of all this craziness. So, hearing you say this made me feel validated for not being on top of my reading game this year.
Omg, I had no idea you hadn't read A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes yet! I was kinda hesitant about it too, but I was very pleasantly surprised! But it's Suzanne Collins and she once again proved she's a great writer.
You’re so peppy, I love it. I’ve been trying to get back into reading but since being diagnosed with ADD, it’s made so much sense as to why I stopped once I got out of high school and had other, more stimulating things to do lol. My local BN was closed due to COVID and I’m so sad 😭 even though I haven’t been reading much, I love being in bookstores. Anyway, your enthusiasm makes me really want to try reading again. I wanna try out reading while listening to the audiobook, maybe that’ll keep me from daydreaming lol
I always start my goal at 52 but usually push it up to 100 as I get closer to meeting it. And I agree. I hate how books that aren't out yet on in the awards.
I think you should try James Patterson. I truly love his writing style. I just binged read his Crazy house series. I'm trying 50 because this year I read 35. I also want to post on my channel again because I lost motivation and I miss the booktube community. You're the only one I have really been watching lately. Also audiobooks are such a lifesaver especially when I work a 9-5.
I'm currently reading A Bend in the Stars. Also, you should totally read the Ballads of Songbirds and Snakes. It is amazing!!! I know it sounds like it is just trying to get the reader to have sympathy for President Snow, but it actually doesn't. I still hate him as much as did even before I read the book.
My GR reading goal was 50 beginning of this year, but 2020 has not been kind to my family and we had 2 family losses this year plus multiple sick from covid, lead to a lot of reading slumps. Lowered my goal to 25 and I'm only at 16 now so doubt I can reach even that. Hope 2021 is better for us all!!
Honestly 2020 was a great reading year for me! I think in 2019 I read/listened to all of 6 books. 2020 brought changes which changed my job description a bit and allowed me to listen to audiobooks while at work. I set my reading goal for 2020 to 15 books, I passed that really early on and I’ve read/listened to 27 books this year which is more than I have read in any year. I’m hoping to try and hit 30 before the end of 2020 but I’ve been in a sort of physical reading slump, only seem to manage to get through audiobooks recently.
My reading goals are to develop my reading outside of YA books by reading poetry, plays, classics and things like that! Also, Alex rider tv show is so good! I’ve never read the books but it’s a really good show!
Something I've always wanted to do was add to my poetry collection. I read some poetry and I like it but I don't have as many poetry books on my shelves like I do fiction. So I want to have 10 poetry collections on my shelf in 2021 :) Plus, because it's quicker to read it can add to a bigger reading goal for the end of the year
Oooh, I'm so looking forward to the new Cruel Prince book! 😍 I binged the whole trilogy this year and I thoroughly enjoyed it - The Wicked King is probably my favorite read of the 2020 (so far) 😁
Wow, I didn't even know they did a new adaptation of Alex Rider. I LOVED those books so much when I was a teenager, but the previous movie adaption starring Alex Pettyfer left much to be desired. Did I fully own the DVD as a 14 year old in love with Alex Pettyfer? Yes, yes I did.
I'm currently reading "The Da Vinci Code" by Dam Brown. It used to be my dad's book, but after he passed away I decided once I'm old enough to read his books I'm going to read them all. That was my goal for 2020,to read all the books my dad owned but quite obviously for me that didn't happen only read *1* single book "the gate house" but that's an accomplishment since that book is *huge* .
Because of my collecting addiction, my husband always tells me to read a couple of what I own first before getting something new... but then I buy sets and my tbr grows fast still lol.
2021 goals: >At least 3 Non-fiction > 1 of the 500+pg books > Read at least as many books as are brought home. Will likely lower the number books to read on the reading goal due to job and schedule changes that are going to be happening soon.
The fault in our stars adaptation just dropped on Disney+ but I haven’t read the book yet.... it looks really good idk what to do ahhhh! And the live stream sounds like a super cool idea :D
I'm in middle school and am currently reading the Serpents Secret because its one of the young readers choice award books. I have to read and ar test on three of them by January and am just getting started with them. Happy reading 📚
I just started Anne of Avonlea (the second Anne of Green Gables book). I like being back in this story; I really enjoyed the first one. The Books Before Bed thing sounds pretty cool! I'm looking forward to seeing what it becomes.
Great video Jesse! My goodreads goal was 50 books for this year and I already made it so I might up it for 60 for 2021. I also want to try to read more genres :) I voted for the choice awards but sadly I only have read a few that were nominated 😂 I love books in bed but if you think it’s not for your channel anymore we’ll respect that. I hope you’re having a good day! (I love your videos so much they always make my day)
My current plan to start the year is read the series of unfortunate events and then read some Jane Austen. Totally different vibes lol excited to just keep bringing down my tbr.
My original goal this year was 24 books, I surpassed that back in August, so I bumped it up to 40. I’m just finished book 46 last night, so my new goal for the year is 52 books, which I feel like I can definitely accomplish! Next year, I want to try to read at least 45 books as a personal goal, which I feel like is achievable. I also want to read more classic novels, like the Great Gatsby and To Kill A Mockingbird. I’ve already planned out some of my 2021 TBR, and I’m so excited to get into some of them!
So I too will be watching Dash & Lily and I'm so excited for it. I'm currently reading Cemetery Boys and loving it. I guess my reading goal is to read 150 books and actually vlog it more on my own channel

> 1 of the 500+pg books
> Read at least as many books as are brought home.
Will likely lower the number books to read on the reading goal due to job and schedule changes that are going to be happening soon.
The new series sounds amazing and sooo much fun!😍😁 Great vid Jess!!!

1.15 A.M in our timezone but priorities are clear🥺
Jesse: how do people get into that free-spirited mindset?
Me: personally? Pure, unadulterated _spite_
(I love your videos so much they always make my day)
Also I ADORE Barnes and Noble
My current plan to start the year is read the series of unfortunate events and then read some Jane Austen. Totally different vibes lol excited to just keep bringing down my tbr.
Currently reading The School of Good & Evil. I’m really not sure why I’m reading this with a TBR as huge as mine but it’s pretty good so far haha.
Omg!! You should totally read Let it snow!! It's such a cute story.. obviously there are some changes in the movie.. But totally read it!!
My biggest goal for next year is reading more sci-fi. I'm starting with To Sleep In a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini.
YAAASSSSSS! That Goodreads rant - 100%!
So I too will be watching Dash & Lily and I'm so excited for it. I'm currently reading Cemetery Boys and loving it. I guess my reading goal is to read 150 books and actually vlog it more on my own channel
I gave The Gilded Wolves 4/5 stars. I really enjoyed the world building, so hopefully you end up loving it!
I love the idea of a live stream, I just hope I can catch it because time zone. But I'd watch the playback anyway :)
