Exactly. And that's kinda the point. This is a starter. A little cargo. A little combat. Something for everyone. Have a fun ship to explore with and level up to something bigger when you're ready. But while you have this one, save as much aUEC as you can.
Great video, I like the way you presented everything. This is especially helpful for players who buy and equip parts for the first time. I would still disagree with the loadout: The Syulen has so much fuel, it can equip the fastest quantum drive, the VK-00. Why would you pick a slower drive when you can fly 120 million km with the VK-00? It should be pointed out that the NBDs do as much damage as the stock guns. They create more heat, but they look amazing. Other options would be laser cannons for more damage at the cost of a slower projectile speed or ballistic cannons or gatlings for more damage, but with finite ammo. Instead of the 7SA shields, I would pick the FR-66, they have the same shield pool, but they can take more distortion damage and the shield generators have more hp, which can make a difference when you're ship is hit by a missile. Overall, I think the Syulen is an amazing ship.
Thanks @derkatzenfuerst6077. My builds are usually ship-purpose based. What I mean is choosing systems that align with the stated goal of the ship. Corsair? Combat. C2? Hauling. Etc. In this case, its a starter so I wanted to make the recommendations broad for a variety of uses - but never straying from the idea that this is someone's first opportunity to explore the 'verse. Atlas vs. VK-00: 17.9k aUEC instead of 43.3k aUEC. Also only 47% slower but 185% more max travel distance. New players don't always remember to refuel. We learn that over time. lol 7SA vs. FR-66: As you said, they have the same shield pool, but the 7SA has less than half the cooling requirement (I know power isn't fully functional right now) and costs about 2/3 the price of the 66's. Identical full charge time too. NBD-30: Who doesn't want purple lasers on a purple ship? 😉 Slightly faster reboot time. Also a nice nod to IAE 2953 when the Syulen debuted. Doing a full military loadout is expensive for arguably no gain. If someone is using this primarily for PvP/PvE, there are better ship choices. My Syulen recommendations will save some credits, cover a lot of distance, look cool (NBDs lol), and give new players an intro to swapping all systems, guns, and missiles.
Love the vid... What I want to know, is why you are equipping these. The guide is VERY newbie friendly, which is amazing, but there is no explanation as to why you are changing these things. Like why buy a new cooler? What EM missiles do?
Great question. Since this is a starter ship, I tried to keep costs in mind. Also a nice balance of stats. At the time I made this video, the 7SA's cost 1/3 less than the 66's, cool faster, and have the same HP. Seems like a smarter choice all around.
@@PapaJuggernaut Yeah makes sense. I use 7SAs on my beefed up Aurora 😎 Perhaps it’s the size and look of the Syulen that just insists that I equip ‘better’ shields 🤓 Nice tip with the repeaters, they fit perfectly.
Make it all the way from the other side of the galaxy in a slow ship just to buy a cheep civillian QD How can it be the "Best Syulen Loadout" when u get 2nd class upgrades. Everyone's making millions per hour. Even doing delivery missions, you should have the 43,3k to buy a propper VK-00 after some jobs
In PvE its ok but in PvP is pretty bad since its so big and i think that's gonna be a thing with all Xian ships which sucks since i love their designs so far also if you want to look cool use rattlers but if you want good missiles go with what he said.
We gotta keep in mind - it's a starter. Won't be the best at anything. Try to spook an Inferno with it and that pretty Gatac paint is gonna melt right off! lol
@@PapaJuggernaut i know this one is gonna not be great in PvP since its a starter but i was mostly talking about the Xian ships in general since the San'tok yai has the same issue its just to wide and easy to hit and just falls apart which sucks.
UPDATE: Systems are still available and recommended in 3.23.
Great video PJ. Straight to the point for us newbies!
Thanks rooster!
The Atlas is a good middle of the road quantum drive. If you to get out of there quickly get a vk-00 or a beacon

Thx for the feedback. I agree. Future Loadouts will not only explain why I make an upgrade but also what the part does.
Thanks so much
You can buy the Atlas from the shelf. Just saying.
Why not FR-66 shields?

I feel like I'm being told off
The adorable Syulen is polite and doesn't tell anyone off.
Unless it shoots at you. Then it is telling you off. lol

I don't think anyone is going to use this for PVP on purpose.

True. They are just big flat targets. At least they're good looking targets! 😅
