  • Thank you to everyone for watching what we consider to be our most ambitious project yet! The story behind 'Fist of Fury' is a timeless classic and it strikes an emotional chord for Martial Club... frankly, it has changed each of our lives for good! The spirit of Chen Zhen that first ignited with Bruce Lee has been passed on from the likes of Jet Li and Donnie Yen and now burns in the heart of Martial Club! That defiance, that will to stand up against oppression has sparked entire generations of martial artists and rages on, never to be extinguished!
We sincerely thank all of our fans for sticking with us this entire time! 'Fist of Fury' could not have been possible without the unwavering support of each and every one of you! We're sending a HUGE shout-out to the Martial Club Stunt Family who sacrificed so much of their time and energy to make this vision come to life! We promise y'all that this is just the beginning of a new era for MARTIAL CLUB!!!
We'd also like to offer gratitude from the bottom of our hearts to the Westminster Aikikai Dojo in Westminster, CA for opening their sacred doors and providing the perfect backdrop for this passion project of ours! If you're ever in the area be sure to drop by and show them some love!

I'm looking forward to seeing more of him on a larger scale.

A couple of things you need to know about this movie and movies in general though:
      1. There are multiple takes for each scene, sometimes 20+, this is done in order to get the right angles and the fluidity that you've mentioned.
      2. The fight footage you've just watched was speeded up for pace and flow.

Thing about Bruce was that he did his movies like an old western movie. His style showed a great deal of raw emotion but not over the top like Sonny Chiba even though i liked him too. Bruce had such presence and physical ability that we were lucky yo see him cause he was a once in a lifetime actor/matial artist/philosopher/good guy. RIP Bruce

Lots of nods to classics of martial arts cinema here. The obvious Bruce Lee tribute, the cranking from Donnie Yen's Fist of Fury and poses and moves from Dragon Tiger Gate (the wide camera tracking also reminded me of the baseball scene), the General and the style shifting from Fist of Legend, the change to open hands like the finale of Jet Li's The One, the overhead CQC like Ip Man. Its all here.

This video has countless great moments, especially the “whoo” at 6:50.
That being said, a huge pet-peeve of mine is when a hero, like this, comes in and beats up an entire school only to be told that his “fist has no power.” ... bruh, he beat up all your students and sent them flying so either he has power or you suck as a teacher and your students suck even more.
But... if he what the General meant was “your fist has no power against the empire because you are just one man that won’t end up changing anything,” then that is a different story.
