My wife and I have just returned home to the UK from another short stay at the Rival Hotel. We love staying there whenever we can and seek out different ABBA related places in and around Stockholm. Thanks to your channel we are never short of places to look.

However, I feel you can find peace in Stockholm. It exudes grace and charm. Moreover, it always seems pristine. What a glorious place to live and write beautiful music. Thank you for these nuggets.

What a fascinating episode, BB! I love the album, really proves what a talented songwriter Agnetha is! And her vocal performance is spot on! I love the concept behind the album, BTW - always intriguing to see the actual locations where something ABBA-related took place; I enjoyed your visit to Frida's old appartment as well. @@bobbysbrother137 WOW, this lady's talent blows me away - composer, lead vocalist AND producer?? Thanks for the additional information, BB! BRAVO, Agnetha!

Thank you sooooo much BB for another fantastic and detailed video! I would like to give you 10 thumbs up👍!!!! Last time I was in Stockholm I walked exactly that way after I had dinner at the "Rival" and I didn't know what a historic building there was behind me! Jag har Stockholm and ABBA I mitt hjärta and I'm longing to return there as soon as possible. Thank you so much again❤
Sweden is such a beautiful country and it’s architecture is so mystical to me, so essentially Nordic. As an Australian it looks almost fairytale like to me, being used to Victorian English style architecture and street layout. This album is one of my favourite records ever, it introduced me to who Agnetha is as a creative person, as well as a singer, and oh she looks INCREDIBLE on the cover. I wish there was a book with the outtakes from the girls’ solos album covers, I’ve seen a few on Pinterest etc but seeing more would be awesome. Thank you for this!❤️
"Elva kvinnor i ett hus" is such a great album! Agnetha at her peak, really. A unique, beautiful sound which really shows what a great songwriter she was/is! And considering the fact that she also produced that record makes it even more impressive. A female artist composing and producing her own record surely wasn't really that common back then. So yes, this album surely is one of the reasons why I admire Agnetha! 🙂
This is my favorite of her solo albums! So creative...like Agnetha herself set to music (I feel similarly about My Colouring Book). Definitely her Swedish language magnum opus. I'd love to see a more in depth review about the album itself.
I feel the same way about both albums, and "I Stand Alone". "Elva kvinnor i ett hus" was solely produced by Agnetha herself. She's such a superb artist. An in-depth review will be there at some point, along with "Frida ensam". We have some real treasures yet to be 'discovered' together.
@@alexioverdo5225 I Stand Alone is my favorite English language album of Agnetha's. I also really like her hair during that era. And yes...that black and white photo of Frida on the Ensam cover is gorgeous. Like an art piece!
This is my favourite solo Agnetha album, it still holds up well after all the years. I have visited this house, too. A nice climb up the hill from the Rival hotel but the views are incredible. Would be great if you do a video on the 1975 album cover, thank you 🙏
I have Agnetha's early Swedish CDs. I think they are called Vol 1 & 2 from the ABBA fan club. I really like them. I also have an Agnetha's box set. I also like Lycka and have a CD called ABBA pa Svenska. I remember I used to really enjoy watching All sang pa Skansen a weekly sing along TV show that I would watch on my computer. Wondering where on the map that was? Look like a beautiful location. Thanks BB.
It's always touching to see that you are so far away in the US (like many viewers actually!), and yet this Swedish music, hidden treasures, somehow made it all the way over there. You understand the stunning quality of these albums, and you have a great sense for Swedish and European culture. "Allsång på Skansen" is filmed at the open-air museum/zoo called Skansen. This also happens to be where Julius Kronberg's atelier is located, in which they shot the artwork for "The Visitors". On this particular map in the video, you don't see it - it doesn't show all of Stockholm - but you see an island to the right, which says "Moderna Museet". This island is called Skeppsholmen. This is where Benny's studio is located (in which they recorded the "Voyage" album). We will go there, too. But just opposite to this island, even more to the right (out of frame here), that's where Skansen is. It's on an island called Djurgården, on which you will also find ABBA The Museum, and so much more. I couldn't even tell you which one is my favorite, of all the beautiful places I mentioned now. Thanks for your comment. Cheers, BB
I believe Agneta did one of the few solo TV appearances to promote that album and you can find it on TH-cam. I think she sings a couple of songs from the solo album
That's right, and it is one of the rare occasions we witnessed one of the ladies doing a live "concert" appearance solo. Frida also appeared on the same show in 1975, to promote her album "Ensam". She performed "Syrtaki" and "Aldrig mej" live, but unfortunately, the footage is not available.
