Oh, thank you Bobby's Brother! Some of the places you show here, I visited in 2015...what memories you have brought tonight! Now and then, I couldn't believe I was in the same places they had been then. I love Sweden since I was 6, and that's because of ABBA. My dream was going to Sweden some day and I did it, visiting The Museum and being mesmerized. Thank you!!!!!! No one can do it better than you!!!!!
Thank you for making yet another installment! I visited Sweden 5 years ago solely motivated by my affinity for ABBA. I went to ABBA Museum of course, and I was in heaven. Being in Sweden was surreal. We even took a boat ride to Birka and along the route, we passed by Agnetha’s home on Ekerö. Talk about a thrill! Your video brought back so many memories of that trip. I did enjoy Gamla Stan, but I had no idea about the ABBA connection that you showed in this video. I wish I had had a guide when I visited. I wonder if there are ABBA-related guided tours? Thanks for letting us know of The ABBA Guide to Stockholm. I ordered a copy from the publisher per your recommendation. I don’t know when I’ll be back in Sweden, but if I go, I’ll be prepared!

You are one of a kind, and I mean that in the most positive way, going out in the pouring rain to show us the Arrival field! You might well be on your way to become the most valuable ABBA documentary maker. It always makes me so very happy to hear and see your work.
This is making me so emotional! My mother and l were such huge Abba fans together, we embraced them and their music and they became literally the soundtrack to our lives together. Mum passed away in 2021, and nothing is the same…but this video, these photos, they do what Abba always does. They reach in my heart and bring me such joy. Sometimes sad, sometimes blissful. Slipping through my fingers…Always so special. I absolutely loved this. And I really appreciate your narration, it’s very sensitive and poetic. Plus you are an amazing photographer! I can still recall my last (and only) summer in Stockholm. My main reason for visiting was of course just being where my beloved ABBA existed. Thank you so much for chronicling all things ABBA with a kind and gentle heart. I recall walking those streets of Gamlastan, walking up to Polar studios but too afraid to knock on the door, entering the church where Benny and Frida were married, and just walking on the island where Agnetha supposedly lived at the time ( I had no idea where her home was but I just imagined that some random house there might be hers.) I look forward to future videos. :)
Like others who've posted on here, I too visited Stockholm - 3 years ago, and I stayed at the Pop House Hotel, the venue of Abba the Museum on Djugarden island. Magical. And I also retraced Abba's steps to the City Hall, on Djugarden island itself, where one of their album covers was filmed (the one where they're seated on a park bench in the autumn), and elsewhere in Gamla Stan.
And guess, what? I'm going backto Stockholm later this month, staying again at the Pop House Hotel and I'm looking forward to visiting Abba the Museum again, and also visiting their old haunts such as Grona Lund (next door to the museum), and also Benny;s Mono recording studios on Skeppsholmen island. Abbaland here I come!!!!🥰😍

I recall an add ihad read in UK music paper Record Mirror.Must have been in late1983.Somebody was in search of co-travellers and Abba fans to join him to visit Stockholm in order to meet the band the following summer.Anyway ,watching this video i do see why they didn't want to leave Sweden despite paying extremely high taxes there.They enjoyed their privacy,in a well organized country,with people that didn't annoy them due to their special culture and enjoyed the real beauty of their capital.I live in sunny South Europe.I drink coffee in my balcony facing the Mediteranean sea,thinking that's just paradise here.But i couldn't imagine that 'cold','freezy' Stockholm was such a 'beauty Queentown' especially in the summer.I feel it so familiar now...Didn't know the National advert was shot there!Thought it was filmed Downunder.And what beautiful photos and footage!All these places include such an Avra now because of them.It's unbelievable how you manage to identify all these points and corners.You got such an observative eye.Your mind and eyes are real scanners!Another great video.Each time a new one pops in from you,i quit doing everything to watch it immediately! thinking 'oops!this is my jam'. P.s.0:51AGNETHA seems she just 'missed' the flight, (she isn't in the cabin?)/9:12 A 26 years of age Agnetha flashing her smile on camera...ok,who still needs the sun?!/.9:19 lol! Excellent stuff once again. And particular praise for heading off the beaten track and checking out Barkarby. The place will no doubt be filled with housing in the not too distant future and that view will be lost forever. Ingmarie at The Museum should seriously be getting in contact as these videos are not only wonderfully researched and shot but lovingly presented.
Stockholm is such a beautiful city. I have visited twice. The first time my brother and I sought out the building where Polar Music studios were located in order to get a picture of us in front of it.

Interesting information. I always thought the helicopter was a prop and not a real helicopter and was done in a studio…yet it was actually done on an airfield. Very fascinating

I was just in Stockholm with my partner and my heart is in my throat. We stayed at the Perseus on Baggansgatan and walked in ABBA'S footsteps! Wow what a tremendous showcase. Is there a part 3? Just amazing! Thank you so much for this.

Again, this is so good. I think the other comments have said it all really. But I would just like to say, the airfield location, although it looks in a sorry state now, has great memories from the Arrival cover. I have just recently bought another LP of Arrival just for the cover as I listen always to CD. Likewise, I have headed paper from the old Polar office from correspondence from 1981. Its so good to see the actual building, many thanks.

To bad you catched the bad weather , I visited the Abba museum 6.th September. Stockholm bathing in a glorious nordic light. It was so Beautiful . I did visit the Abba museum of course and had lunch at the Djurgårdsbron (The brigde that leads to the final leg to the Museum) From the Train station to the Museum is a fascinating 4 km stroll . The Royal castle, Townhall, government building, the P.M:s residence,Hotel Grand and lots and lots of old boats and watershores. It really was something else ...The Paris of the North. It really is

Well done BB surprised me this movie scene from Benny's apartment, I always thought it was a different place for ABBA: The Making of the National Commercial. Another thing that worries me is that a band like ABBA doesn't have a street, roundabout, square or even a metro station in Stockholm. I am also worried that such a great team as ABBA did not receive great state decorations, could not the Swedish state officials and the people of Stockholm be able to commemorate it high enough? one of the greatest teams in the world.
At 3:19 you see Evert Taube, one of the Swedish poets and troubadours that got all that. Abba was actually kind of hated by the leftist in the 1970s (both the establishment and the progg movement). Abba were not seen as very real or down to earth (which was important) singing mostly in English. Not unique either, in many peoples eyes, as many of their earlier sounds were traditional or used by other Swedish artists of the time. However, they are pretty loved nowadays though, even here in Sweden.
If someone in modern times deserves statues its these 4 people in Stockholm...

You tell the stories in a way, so I feel like Im there in the 1970es with ABBA but still here in 2022. Same feeling of experiencing the Voyage concert in London. (Im Now and Then Combined). Going to Stockholm next month. Would love a guided tour at The ABBA Museum. Maybe I could book you? :)

Another great video! In the previous one, you showed us Polar Music Studios. And in this one there is another Polar office. I didn't realize that there were two? One is where they did their recordings and one was for their office and business affairs?

Yes, or they would use the subway like everybody else, or take a bus. (Unless going to the countryside or the archipelago. They might of course use a car, or a boat, for that.)

Would there be any way you could travel by boat there or is it only available to the residents still? I Wonder if it’s still off limits now. Can a boat take you near it just to view it if so? Hi, BB. Studying the cover of Arrival LP cover, those white buildings on the left, are for sure portable cabins that a lot of smaller airfields would use. Naturally these are long gone. Would like to know what side of that central road the field was, on Google maps its all being re developed but looking at your video it appears your looking North, I think?
One of the rarities that were never ever released on any of the reissued Abba albums was their commercials for the National. I wonder it is because the National company owns the songs even though Bjorn and Benny wrote them?

That's actually something that crossed my mind, too. Today, I don't see any railways passing nearby, maybe I'm overlooking something. But then again, it has been over 40 years, so who knows. The Stockholm rain doesn't look so bad, here (Indiana) we're coming out of a drought. Tonight severe thunderstorms have knocked out power and blown down trees (including my neighbors) .

Benny’s RMV and Mono Music will certainly be coming! As for the cabin in Viggsö, that‘s far to reach, but possible. It‘s on my list now :-)
