**UPDATE** These pedals definitely provide more support with their sizeable platform. They are smooth in operation and stylish to the eye. One thing to note is that, when you unclip, the SPD side invariably hangs underneath due to its additional weight. Clip one foot in before setting off and it's easy enough to flip the other pedal with the toe of your shoe. It might take a couple of tries before you catch it.
i bought a pair of these a while back - b4 fitting i noticed one span ok, the other was really stiff - stripped 'em down and replaced the bearings with steel races containing ceramic bearings and greased the spindles properly - all great since! happy riding, stay safe!
