Great video and a great selection of shots. I had a feeling Judd's green was going to be at number 1. I think Mark Williams' red off the black was the most creative shot as I don't think anyone else would have played it. Great video
Great video as usual. Your a very likeable person, explain things very well. Thanks for entertaining us all throughout the year. We all look forward to watching. Best wishes to you and your family.
Terrific video as usual! Merry Christmas, and to all a good night! P.S. I think your recreation of what was, from the beginning, clearly going to be the shot of the year, deserved more than 5/10 for recreation accuracy. I'd give it a 7.5/10 given the 11/10 difficulty. Cheers and Merry Christmas from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. All the best in 2022!
You are a phenomenal snooker player, and the fact that it takes you so many attempts on many of these shots is enough to tell people how incredible the professional players are. How they played these shots in one attempt! Wonderful video, mate, this is my Christmas present :) Thank you for the amazing job you've been doing throughout the years and I cannot wait to see the next video in 2022! P.S. I believe that you deserve an 8/10 on the last shot (Judd's green). 5/10 would've been if the cueball landed around the black. You did a wonderful job on that shot, given that it's one of the most difficult shots in the history of the game in my opinion.
My thoughts exactly. Seeing he recreates the shots, think he can play at the professional level, but later realize he is not there yet because those professionals actually make it on the first 'attempt'
@@feylone1596 You also need to take into account that there's a lot of "survivorship bias" towards the greatest televised shots. Nothing would've happened if Judd would've missed the green or produced a similar result like the 10 attempts in this video. I'm not arguing that there's a big gap between the video author and pros, but your comment suggests that pros are capable of executing this shot to perfection always on the first attempt, which is not true. Judd executing this shot on the first attempt is a fluke, regardless of how talented he is.
@@kevinkattai3255 I personally don't agree that this was a fluke green, BUT I agree with another point you made - that professionals are not always capable of executing brilliant shots on their first attempt. I understand what you mean and I believe you're right - although at some point many of the shots the professionals play are programmed into their heads, they play it like artificial intelligence, but of course - they're human, so these shots could've easily gone wrong. At least, I think that's what you meant :) Correct me if I'm wrong.
@@martintemelkov Sure, "fluke" by definition would've meant that he did not want to play it like that, which he definitely did. What I meant was that if this shot would've meant anything for the current frame, he 100% would not have played the position this way. Given the complexity of this shot, the best I'd say is that 60-70% of the times he can execute that, but honestly, we'll never know and I wouldn't be surprised if this number is even (much) lower.
A 9/10 recreation accuracy on the Yan Bing Tao shot? The red went in a completely different direction, but more importantly Yan got the red safe and you didn't. Seems a bit high. Great video though! Nice!
Few exhibition shots of Judd are his signature shots, it's difficult to recreate unless you have given enough time to master that Shot. So, for now only he can. But, a huge respect to your effort, you are close.
Wow, what an awesome video! Thanks heaps for uploading. You are one of the best players I have seen and the fact it took you multiple attempts to play some shots just shows the level the pros are on!
Just shows how good these players are, you could be trying multiple recreations of different shots and failing a lot but these guys could nail them pretty much first or second time
His technique was actually very solid - he moved after the cue ball was struck. It was theatrics, and very little else, he marketed himself as the wildcard Hurricane who played super-fast and attacked all the time with his exhibition shots...except he wasn't a fast player even by the standards of his era, he was an incredibly tactical player and his safety game was among the best in the world, he never took an uncalculated risk, and he wasn't actually that wild at all. He was a textbook cueist in that era of the game, he was a phenomenal competitor, a born winner, and a brilliant actor. 🙂
Thank you from Toledo. You make my Xmas happier with this one, while I'm trying to breack over 20 in a pool table :-) I particulary love how you did the #2 with so perfect canon to the red.
