It is important to discern between "brain" and "mind." The brain is a physical organ that provides us with the capacity to perceive, experience, learn, think, believe, solve problems, imagine, and fantasize (among others) while the mind represents the summation of one's perceptions, experiences, learning, thoughts, beliefs, problem solving, imaginings, and fantasies that comprise individual as well as collective reality.
Perhaps one reason why we as a species has moved very little psychologically is due to our still primitive emotions that are such a significant factor in manifesting and maintaining one's reality.
