- Recollections of the Tour made in Mustang
Travelling in the world and getting paid for the experience of the life time, it is
something that the journalists dream of. Everyone wants to have a go in Travel Writing. This term paper clams the historical travelling made by the Central Department of English, Tribhuwan University 2nd semester 2019.
Walking in the evening with those guys felt with tremendous happy and different types of energy. In Ghasa Mustang we saw different kinds of people doing there work and returning home back. At that time, we met an old man Ganesh Tulachan age of eighty. The greatest achievement of the tour was a research in Ghasha Mustang. As I belong from Tamang community, I wanted to know what Thakali is. He said Thakali is a caste. I was so curious that I happened to ask some words in Thakali language the words where firewood, meat, and water which are called and pronounced same in typical Tamang language it was so astonish that every words, pronunciation are so similar to our language. Again I wanted to know more about the caste Gauchan and raised some question regarding Gauchan and Tamang; why the language and culture are so similar to each other? He illuminated me everything about the history that Tamang and Thakali, who used to be the same castes in the past. The ancestors were from the same community but later on they were separated as Tamang and Thakali. I had a kind of intimacy with that guy and felt in love with his situation. We could see that person, the way in his condition under the poverty. In the days to come if I would be able to earn money, I will definitely go to visit that baje and willing to give some financial support. We walked after stopping the bus in Ghasa, because of road blockage under construction, I would not have been able to get the golden opportunity of taking interview and get research about Thakali community. The videos that I had put in my face book page was viewed more than millions people. I am always thankful to our professor Dr Mani Bhadra Gautam, who told us to go on walk with him after the traffic jam. After finishing the interview we went another 2 km ahead which place is called Tallo Ghasa. We stayed there, had tea and had a wonderful conversation with professor and friends. After sometimes the bus arrived and we got the bus and resume our journey back up to Tattopani, where we stayed overnight and made schedule for the next destination.
Day 4
Early in morning at 5 o'clock we moved to our next destinations Kushma Parbat and Ghandruk. By observing the natural beauties on the way we reached in Kushma Parbat where we could view nature with full of beauties. The highest and longest suspension bridges of Asia we visited were also the worth remembering moments of the journey. There we could see the other suspension bridge under construction for bungee jumping. The foods and views were really up to the mark. After having nice lunch at Kushma Parbat we moved towards Ghandruk. Again on the way to Ghandruk, we all enjoyed dancing in the bus making jokes and doing caricatures. In Ghandruk, we went spent our night in a home stay called Aashis Aama ko Homestay. The night we stayed in the home stay was most worth memorizing night out of four nights we stayed during the tour. All the students and teachers enjoyed by playing madal, singing folk and song and dancing in a group was the most unforgettable moment during the tour. I can never forget the way that aunty used the typical slang words bhat thaap, daal thaap, pakh ma talai mashu leraidinchhu were really amazing that she was behaving as if we were already familiar to each other we were meeting there for the first time.
Day 5
The journey back to Kathmandu began early morning around 7 am all the way from Ghandruk. Each and every one of us had the same kind of enthusiasm even after travelling for four days. Travelling through the beautiful city Pokhara; we had lunch at a restaurant near Phewa Lake Pokhara and got back to Kathmandu by getting grand travel experience of the tour made in Mustang and many more.
It was a great experience for me having tour with such a huge number of friends and respected professors, ever in my life. Although I have travelled through overseas and many different countries, this travel will be my life time unforgettable journey throughout my life. The the historical travelling made by the Central Department of English, Tribhuwan University 2nd semester 2019, was literally an academic purpose to write Travel Writing thesis paper. That is how the tour to Mustang and many places went over.
Yes that is true. Thakali and Tamang communities have atleast 60 language that are similar. My parents use to call themselves Tamang and Tamangashya. Thakali came much later. My parents used to call themselves Tamang and Tamnashya. Thakali came after those living in Thak Hule (Thak Khola).

Thakali word came much later. Those living in Thak Hule (Thasang Hule) called Thakali.
