They don't even try to aim the f**king gun while firing
To be fair, later in the movie, the hot ship captain does actually do burst firing and “aiming” along the top of the rifle.
Not perfect, but she does prove a pretty good shot overall.
And also, with enemies that huge, with their weakest point behind a massive set of jaws, and rapidly swinging claws/legs, accurate aiming is “sorta” redundant.
You want them to slow down or stop in their tracks, then you can focus on the nerve stem, as long as you can get them to either turn for a clear shot.

Are those Rifles more powerful than the ones in the first film?.
Yes. The first movie they were using 5.56 caliber, this one they are using 7.62x39mm.

But the second movie was the most powerful.
The rifles ran off of “Rail gun” tech, and thus only a few shots could do the damage as half a magazine of either movie 1 or 3’s rifles.

I mean, in THEORY it should work. Break up the swarm into choke points. And bunkers to take cover when it washes over you.
In theory, obviously. Bugs that can blow up your walls tend to negate that.
They have air bugs and artillery bugs too

How is anyone supposed aim at all with the gun barrel placed where it’s at. It’s no wonder why most of them can’t anything and that they need to line up like they’re in the 18th century to get a kill.

They have spaces between guys. Also umthis formation would be better used for continuous fire. As the front rank reloads the second rank steps forward to continue firing. And swapping back and forth

@@pokebreeder2517 that's still what they have here. These rifles are better the the starship troopers 1 rifles but not as good as the starship troopers 2 rifles.. on top of that it's a trench, not alot of room for a firing line. Plus if everyone is firing at once then everyone reloads at once.
At least they're wearing helmets this time. 🤷 We know what happened to the one guy during a "training exercise."
The guys in the back who forward march with em' go to the front line when the front line hasto reload.
A little bit of logical thinking would have averted this entire comment section.
