A tip from someone who buys auctions and storage units to resell. Not every item is a winner but I don't trash ANYTHING until I know what the value is. That table was worth a few dollars more than the $20 yard sale price on it. The small TV with the DVD or VHS player you dropped on the ground is great for the kids to watch their shows or movies on. Anything new and sealed like the Risk game, especially if it's old and out of print can surprise you what it's worth. If it's an old game and you're not sure if it's salable...we sell the game pcs, cards special loose parts. Old Playstation or Xbox games can be worth money depending on title and condition. You said you didn't make any money on that unit and that's because you threw it all away. Hopefully in time you will look at things differently and make more money.
The table was worth at least $50. There is a demand for those old formica retro tables. The Risk game is collectible and an unopened one could easily bring you $50+. That tv with the vhs player was worth money too. People are buying the older small tv's to play older game systems such as Atari and Nintendo, on. Not only that, people that collect vhs tapes need a player for them. You had a number of collectables as well as other sellable items there. I could have easily made $300-$400 on that unit. You need to learn what has value and what the market is for items before trashing things. You'll get there in time.
If you ever come across a couch like that a gain, just know the 3 back pieces do disconnect to make moving it easily. Just look under the back side skirt and there should be levers or something similar.

Today 12/20/24 I went to the post office to mail a few letters, and an older lady was sitting in her car as I pulled up next to her, she asked for a jump her battery was dead, so I gave her jump after she started her car, she offered cash I said I didn't need it and I said to her to just pay it forward (meaning to help someone else in need) one day I may need help from someone.

Please don't ever shoot ammo you find, even if it fits your gun. Unless it's sealed/in factory packaging and you are sure it has been stored properly. Loose ammo that someone else may have hand-loaded is too much of a risk. Blown up firearm or injury (or worse) is not worth it.

OR dropping things because you're stupid, that small Sony TV was probably worth a few bucks... if it was working -- if not it could have been sold for parts.... now there's probably some computer work some photography required, maybe even in eBay account, or Facebook local Marketplace for items you don't want to ship... I would assume that you or your wife might have some of those talents or be able to learn them???.. might not get rich but it would be a way of recouping much of your outlying costs... that Sears Die Hard battery charger might - probably worth a small fortune... if it works... You just embarrassed yourself on your Channel.... oh well
