    Thanks for posting this vid! It helped me with getting rid of my horribly weak horn haha.

      Don’t mention it, I’m happy it helped! I wish I was able to post more videos over the past couple years, but University really grabbed ahold of me and I had to focus on that. I didn’t really have any time, even in the summers. Now that I’ve finished though, I’m planning a return to making videos. Once I get a job, have steady income, and just have my life more figured out I’ll be making a return to youtube. Thanks for the view, and the comment ❤️

      @@MVTTE no worries, university work can get hectic (especially engineering of all degrees haha). I wish you all the best with your post-university life, and hope you find an awesome job to start your career bro

    Those coming here for information. This is a headache. Just wire your new horns to the original plug. No relay needed.

    • @MVTTE
      @MVTTE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The relay is necessary.

    How to start a fire 101. Didn't look like you got much heat penetration in the solder joint there...

    i install it on my Hyundai Veracruz and i cut off my factory plug and connect 2 wire , when I plug it to Hella horn it sound either way there is no positive or negative it works either way , anyone know why ? No replay need it , I thought it won’t work if i hook the wire up wrong , in this case it works either way .

    Question? Why wouldn't you google how to take the bumper off beforehand? That way you don't do something like breaking the headlight trying to take it off because you didn't know about the hidden third bolt, or something similar?

  • @thevduber

    can you explain exactly what you did to wire it into the stock horn

    Taking off the bolt on the left horn would have made your AC not work. Ill take zip ties and cold air over bolted horn and hot air lol

    Nice, except for blocking more flow to the already heat soaked, stock intercooler.
    Shell out 1500 for a crash bar, IC combo.
    You said that you only blocked, one third, but one third is already blocked by the factory crash bar, leaving you one third of an IC. Just don't drive during summer.
    In So Cal, when it's 120, that would never work on a vt without some LSPI happening.

      Hey thanks for the feedback! This is not meant to be an exact guide for how to do this, it's just how I decided make my setup work. I drove it ever since I installed the sharptones and have had no issues. I do have an aftermarket intercooler in my garage that I have not yet had time to put on, I plan on making that video over winter break from school. School and the lack of funds have really put a damper on me making videos as frequently as i had hoped :( The intercooler will sit below the crash bar, where there is plenty of open grille for cool air to get forced through it. I do trust the engineers at hyundai though for providing enough heat dissipation with the stock intercooler to not cause any issues with a lightly modified car such as mine (for now). Keep in mind that thermodynamics play a roll here. The cooling ability of the stock intercooler must account for static heat in the system (which includes the air that passes through it). Although the one horn does appear to block some of the intercooler, there is still a ton of air that gets forced through the intercooler and radiator while the car is in motion thanks to the massive open face of the Veloster. I would say the horn makes a negligible difference in the performance of the intercooler, at least while the car is moving. At a standstill, there is no air being forced through, so the horn does not effect it at all. But who knows, I don't have equipment to test thermals, and I live in PA where the climate is mild during the summer so I could be wrong. Thanks for the comment!

    Matt, I got my crashbar from Jim. Once I paint it and install Nates IC, I'll post it for you. I still have to fab up the hot pipe and then do some testing. I'll keep you posted.

      Michael Calhoun Awesome man! I hope everything works out well with it, I haven’t seen many VTs with an aftermarket crash bar, so it’ll definitely be a welcome addition. Do keep me posted I wanna see this thing!

    Since the car has just one horn, do you HAVE to use both new ones? Or can you just use one where the stock was already?

    • @MVTTE
      @MVTTE  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Carlos Vazquez Reyes Good question! The hella sharp tones, super tones etc use 2 different horns because one of them is a high frequency, and the other is a low frequency, so yes if you’re going to use these ones you’d need to use both of them together(unless you want a really awful sounding horn lol ). I don’t know if Hella makes a single “horn” that would make the same sound as the doubled ones or not, but there definitely are options out there for you to run a single unit, however they will likely not have the same look to them as these ones do (which is the best part of hella horns, imo) If you’re looking into hella horns, get the dual setup, and run them both.

    Do you remember what fuse you used?

    • @MVTTE
      @MVTTE  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not, but It should be pretty easy to find at a store like advanced auto or auto zone. Its just a wire with an in-line, weatherproof fuse.
