+nimrodgreenie Thanks man! REALLY? Like "Tower Cam"? Damn, that thing is always laser focused on those ramps in front of the renny. Well that makes me feel pretty special!
The Southwester with two bears is definitely "Missouri." I didn't realize how much I enjoy your commentary until I watched a 2-shour video the other day with awesome heavy action but NO COMMENTARY at all. I was so bored!
I always like your spotting vids, Matt, but I enjoyed the hell outta this one. Thanks. Highlights: Lufty A340, Air France, the KA A380 Sidestick Monster Machine and of course the interpersed de-icer play-by-play. Looking forward to more.
+Thom Patterson Thank you so much Thom! That means a lot. Whenever my weather & aviation obsession intersect, you know its gonna be interesting. Operating from an 11th floor covered balcony during the precip was unprecedented. As was deicing!
A couple of weeks ago, my local airport (Tampa) had to bring out the de-icing equipment because of near-freezing temps. I didn't even know airports in Florida had de-icers!
+NWSRuskin329 NO SHIT! Deicing in Tampa!? Damn man. I know y'all get winter precip on rare occasions. Like once a decade. I didn't know you've been hit by those polar temps so far this winter. Atlanta hasn't seen much of anything. But I digress. Deicing is AMAZING
+evan underwood Evan, I have fantasized, daydreamed & even subtly hinted to the wife that we need a very extended stay. And let me tell you Evan - cuz I've never been fortunate to have a covered balcony - it made it exponentially better! As if that was even possible! I'm gonna book one of those rooms one spring day when severe storms are forecast. I MUST
My flight from got delayed from Boston. They told us there was a coating of snow on the ground so they had to ground flights. 1hr 50min latter we where able to take off. Missed are connecting flight.
+First Order Thank you sir! Now on this occasion I was operating from a covered hotel balcony that isolated me from the real nastiness. Not to mention a heated room. So don't give me too much credit. The Renaissance did the heavy lifting
@@mlcochran78I'm supposed to go on a winter cruise 01/18/2020. I'm flying on Delta from Atlanta to New York. But I'm flying first class to keep away from all the drama in coach. Soi won't end up on someone's cell phone video when some happen.
So much excitement over a dusting of snow! Where I live we're expected to get over a foot from the next storm system which is normal for me. I see snow every day for 6 months gets boring after while. As always thanks for the entertainment and great view of those amazing aircrafts!
+Bryguy10201 Oh Bry, you know my excessive "excitement" isn't real. It's ACTING. I'm just portraying the character you know & love from my videos. In real life I was very content. That's the real me. HA HA HA! I'm an actor. I don't know how you guys live in snow climate but I'd LOVE to take a spotting field trip & try it out. I would need a chaperone.
+gimp6019 Thanks buddy! I love crosswinds! I can't recall seeing anything this good in several months. The winds are almost always out of the west or east. Headwinds. Boo for that
Hey Matt, Great video! As you have said, the Renaissance is the most glorious hotel in the world! I stayed there last October and even for a short 24hr stint, I was overwhelmed with the exitement in regards to Atlanta's aviation surprises. When you mentioned evil spriit's destinations, you forgot the most evil of them all, Ft. Lauderdale. It is my home base and I cannot escape their evil reign every time I spot! Also, the Eastern you saw is a re-start of the original airline, they currently have 1 737-700 which was the Florida Panthers aircraft you saw and 4 other 737-800's. Currently they are doing charter ops and they plan to start commercial service by the end of this year. Keep the great videos coming!
+FLL Spotter Network Thanks man! Oh I'm WELL aware of Original Eastern. I just got done typing up this little tangent in a previous reply: I can't even describe to you the joy I feel when I stumble into a relic from my childhood. I've lived in Atlanta since 1987. Back in those days Eastern was the counterbalance to Delta. The airport was 50/50. Eastern/Delta. And good lord, you wouldn't believe the fleet they were bringin. A300s & L1011s were commonplace. Then of course 757 - w/"757" on the tail. 72s, DC9s etc. Bare metal livery & white one. I used to watch the arrival stream from by bedroom window using 10x50 binoculars back then. And I'd see Eastern all day long. So Eastern is my childhood!! If I were a tad more sentimental I'd shed a tear at the sight of it. You're quite lucky to have Eastern. It is 100% Floridian! Just like the original back in the 70s & 80s Thanks mang! Sorry for the longwinded Eastern love
Seeing the Eastern Airlines logo gave me an injection of 40-years-younger fluid. Wow! That and super shots from the hotel combined to make for a splendid, short 44.5 minutes of entertainment; congratulations, guy.
+miata149 Aw man, I feel it too. Overwhelmed with whimsical light heartedness & nostalgia. I saw another one. A better one yesterday. 738 w/"737" on the tail. Just like Original Eastern did w/757s. Brilliant. Thanks man!
THE SNOWWWW I loved that part of the video the most!! Man when those heavies departed the south side they sure were banking to fight the bluster!! Epic video as always Matt! :D
+uniteddeltafan You know how I am! WEATHER! 6 months ago it was STORM ON ME! During the winter months it's SNOW ON ME! The kickin wind was just icing on the cake. Thanks man!
Just watched the one from Friday night and was able to consume the Olde English 40 before it ended, guess I'm going back to the fridge now, thanks again for these videos!
Matt, been watching your videos for quite some time now and recently subscribed. I love your videos man! Your commentary is the best man! I live here in Houston and I enjoy spotting at KIAH! Keep up the amazing videos man!
+77Danny OH hell yeah! Thanks Danny! I just subbed right back atchya. Ya know, I've got a Houstonian pal. He's my "Houston Correspondent" - by the name of Patrick. He's an IAH man too. You don't by any chance know who I'm talking about do you? If I could remember his YT name I'd just tie him into the conversation. He's atwellaviation on instagram. A very good man. Go harass him and/or tie in with him at Bush!
+Matt Cochran haha I will have to look for him! KIAH is home to two sidestick A380 monsters, Lufty and Emirates along with a plethora of other international carriers! Keep up the amazing videos my friend! I've only passed through ATL about 3 or 4 times through connecting flights on delta but maybe I'll see ya out there sometime! I don't think there's not one video of yours where I haven't LOLd :)
Hi Matt , you make always great video's and I especially like the fact that you show us also an overview on the airport taxiways, terminals ... amazing job !!!
Matt I was like a big kid seeing snow for the first time it was so cool if I had a chance I would have made a snow angel. The flight on Spirit was ok it wasn't a full flight about 80%, but the departure out of Orlando was a little turbulent with wicked crosswinds. Spirit was offering free ticket vouchers if you apply for a credit card. I will definitely want to come back to Atlanta you guys have a great city and the plane spotting is awesome, thanks again Matt.
+Tom Peavy Tom. Me too. 100%. Eastern was my childhood. Or 50% of my childhood rather. Cuz Delta was the other half. Crazy to think about now. I think Eastern had concourse D, C & some of B. Delta had the rest. Anyway, yeah man. I daydream about it all the time
Just LOVE the play by play commentary. Like listening to good baseball or golf action. How about adding flight numbers and origin airports? Easy with Flightradar24.
Hey Matt I flew into Hartsfield-Jackson on the 23rd on the evil Spirit from Orlando in her bare fare livery, this was my first time in Atlanta and first time seeing snow.
+Darryl Darling Oh NO WAY! Way cool! So was your reaction to the snow as silly as mine? How was your experience on Spirit? More importantly, whatd u think of ATL? Thanks Darryl!
I love your video and your commentating to the videos. Maybe your catch my plane to and maybe from Atlanta on May 20th-May 22nd as I plan to be in the area that weekend.
Thanks Matt. Excellent, as ever. Loved "Tiger sharks don't like the cold and wet" (4:26) Well, the cold at least. And the Virgin's name was ..............?

Depends on part of Georgia you in, if your in the top parts of the state around the Appalachian foothill and jet stream then you may have more of a chance for snow being on the ground which at time can reach almost a foot, that's quite a bit but still less then what you may have it in Michigan with the lake effect stuff

nice work Matt. Renny is a great place. Glad to see you got the de-icing. That day airportwebcams was focused in tower and never showed ice jobs.

Eastern airlines normally fly out of Miami and I have also seen it at Ft Lauderdale International as well.

Winter storm lol. Looks like rain to me. Live in Michigan. We measure snow in Feet lol

Ken Arbuckle or In the upper Peninsula of Michigan they don't measure snow in inches, but in feet.
I live in Minnesota so I feel you haha
we got about 3 inches of snow down here in memphis
+Major Moore Yeah buddy! You guys are lucky. Wish we could've gotten something substantial. But winter ain't over! Thanks Major!
Good Job !!! Really I enjoy watching your videos, I love the airplanes, I hope one day I could record videos like you !! I Live in Oklahoma City,
I think that was the aircraft that I arrived on because it was an a319, what time did that aircraft departed?
+Darryl Darling Oh man, I'm not sure to be honest. I'd have to go back & check the time stamp on the root file
And how bad is the plane noise at night?
Beautiful Spotting Matt!!! 😀😎🙌🏻📹📱🖥✈️👍🏻

whats the name of this hotel? awesome video

found the florida panthers on flight radar!!! landing in Memphis! so cool!
Does KLM bring its new livery to Atlanta yet
+Anthony Bellotti No because the A330s haven't been painted in the new livery yet (Because Dulles also gets the A330)
Anthony Bellotti the new livery just came yesterday at KLM 623 the 777-300er it comes every once and a while
This guy reminds me of Mr. Regular if he did plane reviews.
13:36 what is it?
CRJ-700 or 900
You know if you have the FlightRadar24 app it will tell you the ID and origin of flights around you.
I had about almost 2 feet in N.Y.
+Michael Mandia You sir, live amongst an alien landscape! To me, it's as foreign as the moon. I desperately want to pursue an airport expedition under NY snow condish. Thanks
