"You need a purpose in your life. And if you look at your daily life, your whole life is driven by purpose.
If you want to find your purpose, you need to sit down, no music, no podcast, no journals, eyes closed, going internally, and having a dialog with yourself.
By spending structured time with yourself."

For 30 plus years I helped build other people’s dreams because I did not have a clear vision for myself. At the end of that 30 some years I had nothing except the clothes on my back. This life lesson has taught me self-love.

Why does self-discipline increases will power? Is there a science to it?! Why not maybe aggression increases wil-power?!

@@ao1920 Self -Discipline in the sense you must be aware about your action then you will do everything consciously that is the scientific reason behind it ,Aggression creates blind will you don't know the result of the action it is worthwhile for your life or not that it seems to be in "War " thousands of people kill each other nations based on Aggression will power ,Instead of Self -Discipline they fallowed means they know action of their reaction then never harm to another person instead they educate them that is the power of " Self -Discipline "

one more thing: your passion is different from your purpose. IN fact you don't have a purpose, but you certainly have a passion about something. Purpose is manufactured, passion is natural. Passion means fire. They say, if you want to pursue a spiritual life, you need to burn a little. If you are burning enough, you don't care about purpose, you just want to do what you want to do.
What I want to say - don't look for the purpose, find your passion and follow it (unless it is harmful to other beings). And it doesn't have to be spiritual path. If your passion is mathematics or art, or whatever - go for it and it will give you a fulfillment.

    This video was packed with great information. Kudos Jim Kwik he was better at asking the appropriate question/s to dig deeper on the topic. My takeaways for this video;
    1. Understand love, will power & discipline
    2. Developed your will power by finishing what you have started.
    3. Build your own rituals in your life.
    4. Introspection and self-awareness is key to will power.
    5. Interpret your purpose and passion in life.

Thank you for this video Dandapani and Jim! During quarantine my mental health has been getting worse and worse however I've had so many goals that I've wanted to achieve. In the end I always failed to achieve them because I felt no purpose and had very little willpower. I will remember your words and implement the strategies you recommended to get my life back together :)

Great interview and I am doing most of your suggestions.
I started a 3 day fast July 4th. At first it was to lose weight but in the end of third day I built enormous willpower. I have continued fasting daily and although weight loss happened, I am amazed at the changes I have come to know. I make my bed every morning after my shower I take time to sit outside and commune with nature. I also started a new job two weeks ago that I am passionate about. All good comes from finally realizing what our passion is. Thank you for reminding me.

When you are alone in a place that normally has people in it like a school your ability to imagine and see people in the empty hallways happens. You know they are not there but if you see something out of the corner of your eye and turn your head and there is nothing there. But there is no body to ask "did you see something". Well no one except yourself. Here is where you find out if you listen to your self or ignore yourself. If you don't listen to that inerself and you have spent your life pushing that voice aside when you are alone that is the only person you have to ask "did you see something"or "was there something there?"And I'd you have cultivated a dialogue with yourself you will still have creepy moments but you will have a familiar partner instead of a hurt and ignored and iner self that you don't know and they know all your secrets and fears and probably won't be wanting to assist or comfort or be there for you. In life you are the person the is always going to be there with you and I'd _when we develop this friendship/relationship we simply are more! More in every way any person is in any and every way. No one is More valuable in our life than this person! And these skills are how we meet and learn about them! I spend time alone a lot . And i do know some of myself but you have explained a perception that i want to see more of! Thank you ..!!

I hope you see this and respond to my question, Jim.
About daily rituals, I have difficulty agreeing with what is established because no matter how hard I try I have never been consistent enough and this makes me sad. Here's why.
As a student, I have a limited amount of available time I control. I don't control the time for my lectures and it's time-consuming. The schedule for classes differs each day. Sometimes I may just have a few hours in between but then it is always less productive.
How then can I engage in rituals when I have limited time to control and I still have to rest, eat, do assignments, study for my exams?
It's overwhelming and frustrating most of the time😔😔😔😪

hmm... completion of the moment is actually part of Santosha Sadhana, which is a supportive system for Tapah. it overlaps at best. I like your take on motivation/inspiration vs desire/love/purpose. also what I find important is an honest assessment of the current state of your willpower and start from there, making small steps, slowly building up. another important point is rituals vs routine. hmm..., but still this is all nice and correct, never the less only support systems for developing willpower. appetizer if you will, not the main dish. developing willpower and heat in the system requires friction, resistance, and the ability to use it to your advantage. calibration is very important. what is too little and what is too much? with that comes confidence. without confidence, you can not build your willpower. many many more aspects to this, but enough for now.

Precious people God created you and without Him you will continue to search and struggle. (God created you with love.) Your brain, is so complex, so beautiful, and (much is still beyond our knowledge), it is physical. You have a mind too, mental, which includes cognitive thinking, and you have a heart, which is the most important part of your being. When you love God and love others you will truly see Jesus leading you, guiding you, and giving you strength, for all you need including self control. You honestly receive peace, love, joy, patience, kindness, humbleness, and self control...and it's all through Jesus loving you and leading you. And it's your heart and the wisdom that comes from God that gives you purpose, and beautiful success in all areas of your life. It's only your creator that can and will do this, He is so in love with you. Just ask Him, it's that simple and that beautiful.

If you can not find the thing that will drive you then you have to become the driver. Simply put your lucky if you have a passion. Don't be fooled to believe that you have to have passion to have Willpower. There is what you want and then there is what is right. Willpower is a conscious choice that becomes an unconciouse habit for the desired goal or goals and once autopilot sets in Willpower eventually leaves and the unconscious state takes over due to repatition. For willpower to remain what it truly is it has to remain in the conscious mind, Willpower can not survive in the unconscious state where repatition is in robotic form. Willpower functions like a hospital or a police station in certain countries, they are not allowed to strike and they remain open 24/7. Willpower has to always remain in the conciouse state even when your goals go from practice (conciouse mind) to perfect (unconscious mind). Willpower is unlike a job. There is no part-time. Willpower in action is less like knowing the truth and more like standing up for truth. It's easy to know truth but then standing up for what you know is a totally a different kettle of fish.

And is your purpose to write nasty comments to a stranger? It is you who needs to speak to a medical professional. Life is too short and I recently lost a loved one...at the funeral I both laughed and cried...having two emotions at once does not make anyone a lunatic.

The camera was not maintaining its focus. Maybe it needs to train its willpower. :D
