If everything was formed from the big bang How were the atoms created so that the bang could happen at all? I'm a Christian, and don't knock anyone's beliefs or judge at all. However, (Speaking from my standpoint) I cant explain that one, God has just always been, no way to really explain it. From the scientific stand point, there is no way to explain the big bang theory, for it to have been possible, there would already have to be atoms present, what created those? It's all in what you believe
No joke man, I don't even know how Dustin and JB have this all stored in their heads. It's crazy though how the easiest part of this song sounds like the hardest
I think perhaps it lies on the underlying belief that belief itself is relative [and the many facets that constitutes said (relative) belief]. It could be something to the lines of: "everything is so relative, it becomes almost obsolete", "and in this ocean of belief, your (chosen) belief(s) is but a drop in the ocean, therefore making it almost irrelavant". We have come far in society to accommodate various worldviews, but in the midst of it all we have lost ourselves by straying from what is tangibly present in our hearts. The urge that there is more more to us and this lofe than meets the eye. This is just my own take on the lyrics, but it has got me thinking about relativism, so I think I'll do a bit more research on this topic. A great song makes you think! And damn, this band's lyrics makes for some hardcore soul-searching... Anyways, what do you think?
I like this song just because of the solo to be honest…but I never skip to 2:30 because I'd feel like I'm sinning otherwise xD. The whole thing is a masterpiece!
When you say SOME you mean MOST. It's unfortunate but true. It's hard to change the minds of the older generation....on ANYTHING, not just music. I just hate ignorance. I'd love to ambush them with little booklets with lyrics from ABR, Oh Sleeper, and For Today and have them read the lyrics. They'd LOVE it! THEN you could show them the music. That way they couldn't retract their opinion of the band! LOLZ
I hope Solid State makes a habit out of making these videos with artwork and lyrics from their bands! It would be great for "Christians" who think this music is "evil" to sit their ass down and read along! lol Hint to Solid State....Oh Sleeper just came out with Son of the Morning....*wink wink* Get to work on some videos Solid State! First, he's a spiritual being, there is no creation for a spiritual being. Also, God was here before time even existed, so time wasn't even a thing then. So I'm just going to assume that you believe in "the big bang" theory. How did that happen? How did that explosion come to exist?
@PS3gamerguide Ok, well you should look at the references their lyrics are from, im not a Christian, but its obvious the lyrics are from the Bible... They are definately a Christian band, just like most of the other bands on Solidstate
They are a metalcore band that consists of Christians. NOT a Christian metalcore band. Learn the difference. And unlike other bands, they're just making awesome music, instead of ramming religion in our throats.
Really, then what did God come from? This almighty being that created life, where exactly did he appear from? Or did he just simply come to exist, which you say is impossible?
@MisterFallout because its easy to write good stories about mythical creatures such as jesus. Havnt you ever read greek mythology that shit is fascinating.
As for religious debate on almost every single one of ABR's songs on youtube. They made the message so people that have the belief can SHARE IT with them, NOT debate it and dog on other religions. ABR is EXTREMELY ACCEPTING of all people and all religions, and understand those who do not listen their music for the message, but just for the pure energy and excitement it gives. Those arguing Christianity to others, stop using ABR's name in vain...because your argument is on you, not them.
their message REALLY isn't about God....its about knowing that life can be hard, its sympathizing with the crowd. Telling them to pick yourself up, let everyone that brought you down know that you will and are going to surpass them. You are above them, you are better than to let those who bring you down keep you with them. Thats their message. Pick yourself up. They put a religious message a couple of their songs, yes, but their MAIN message resides in picking yourself up at your worst.
People listen, have u ever seen an explosion? What happens? Things get destroyed, I never hear or see planets all the sudden come out or anything come out except shrapnel! So for some one to say that the big bang theory makes sense is beyond me. But I understand that people will believe what they believe and listen to the words in this song and in all there's songs, it might change ur opinion on things and look up Jake Lurhs testimony it might also change u.
we aren't dude, i simply wrote what i thought about evolution, not cramming it down people's throats. but zackganley119 and other people like to argue it because they know its right and they are scared of it. when people like him fight back they know that they have no answer to come back with so they get mad and lash out at people, personally it breaks my heart to see people like him do that because they're not face to face so they don't care if they hurt the person.
god created time and so he existed out of it, the big bang theory states that a massive explosion happened which then lead to stars forming and those stars produced elements through fusion and planets formed around the gravity wells made by the stars. but again i will state the question, how did the big bang happen? if there were no atoms then how all of a sudden were there atoms? god, being a spiritual being created the universe out of thought so that he could create humans (in his image).
The world's creation can be explained through the big bang theory easily, life can be explained through evolution. I believe it is in god's design to be absent from our knowledge to "pick out" the posers. If you live an honest life to god without a guarentee of his existence you are a far better person then someone who lives life for their own selfish existence. This would eliminate him as an "authoritive" figure and he would remain a "father figure" like jesus portrayed. We have the knowledge.
I used to think that religion was really stupid and one day durring my highschool football 2 a days i was pronounced dead for 4 minutes i remember remember walking with my grandma holding her hand through the most beautiful place, and it forever changed my life, but what does all this have to do with the music? ABR are awesome and they shouldnt be judged on what they believe, but thats just my input
You can't take the Christian message out of ABR. You can listen to the music without caring about the meaning, but these guys make the music specifically for the message. I'm not trying to convert you guys or anything, but you can't be like "shut up with this religion crap, I just want to listen." You can feel that way of course, but don't argue for it, because some of us are actually inspired by the meaning they put into everything they do.
@Veltiorx Rise Against does describe their feelings in their songs, but ABR referances their songs to Bible passages and visions and prophecies. Both bands have their advantages, and both bands build people up positively. But in different ways, the messages in ABRs songs are spiritual and most often helpful in spiritual battles with demons, addiction, and so on. I have nothing againts either bands, but if you really think about it..reealllyy think about it, theres such passion in their words.
@Lycanpaester well the lyrics are indeed about very different things, but the point is, and you can't deny that, that the words in rise against songs are much better chosen in a literarily way. also the lyrics themselves aren't deep in this song, it's more the meaning or better said the meaning that you interpret into them what makes them deep for you. The lyrics of Rise Against songs are describing are situation or grievance not directly but in an emotional, paraphrasing way.
@sanderjeu i totally agree. people need to cut the shit with the religion bullshit. yes, we all know the members of ABR are dedicated christians, but they dont force their religion upon anybody. i am personally an athiest and ABR is one of my favorite bands. and i know that they would respect my beliefs just as i respect theirs. i dont care what religion they are, they write great music and lyrics, and are amazing live. and that all that matters.
@FallenReaper6 Nobody is pushing anybody's beliefs in your face or anybody elses face... Where would you get that from? By ABR being christian it has everything to do with us liking them, every song pertains to God, the work of God, or somebody that has done work for God or pertains to the bible. So why try to argue that? Kind of confusing if you ask me. If somebody is pushing christianity on you then they're not true "christians in the making" or haven't read that in the bible yet...
@MisterFallout Lol I am actually a buddhist martial artist who believes religious practices keep people apart. I don't bash your religion, I bash this : "Why is it that all christian bands are the best?" That is incredibly conceited, and honestly you were very quick to call me an athiest. I do believe in god, I believe he is loving and kind. But I dont believe he wants us saying "YEA CHRISTIANITY IS THE BEST SAME WITH CHRISTIAN MUSIC" He actually probably despises that.
@MisterFallout Yea but the best bands aren't catholic. An opinion is a depiction of somebody's preferences, and is not based on fact. Therefore you saying that all catholic bands are the best, is just conviction in your religion and NOTHING more! Stop segregating people with your religious rubbish, and segregating metal for that matter. Good metal, bad metal, there is no "Catholic Median" that makes it spectacular.
@Lovetek10 there message is a Christian message... so everyone technically should be viewing them as Christian, that is unless of course you aren't actually listening to the lyrics, then otherwise you're fine. But listen I'm not trying to make you mad or anything I'm just saying what I think and from what I can tell, I can say this is definitively a Christian band.
@PS3gamerguide Much of their music is Christian so they are a Christian band. I'm not Christian anymore, but I still like them. I don't hate them for that by any means. I appreciate much of the music and lyrics although some songs annoy me like Rationalist which is taking a shot at atheists for not believing in God.
This song is trying to say is that don't take ur life for the bad that's in the world." We will strengthen ourselves " meaning we can rise to make a better world. That even though it's living hell we can change that no matter the negativity that surrounds us. Stop,Listen and learn
@whiteflag101 No they're not. JB said so himself on his podcast interview. He said "We just so happen to be a bunch of christian guys in a band together." He then said that because of that there's obviously going to be some christian influence in they're lyrics. But they are NOT a christian band. >.>
@MisterFallout Half of the interviews he claims they are christians in a metal band, and the other half he calls as i lay dying a christian band. personally, i reckon that if they cant fully admit to being a christian metal band, then they shouldnt be considered one.
i dont believe in the so called "God" but this band has always been one of my favs.. drugs dont make a band, neither does the fake idol called "God". Straight edge or not, fuckin blow me with that kinda bullshit talk.. But i gotta say, if there were gods, then ABR would be in my top ten.
@IPuntBabiesx JB also said in an interview that they want to influence people through their music... by that he means in Christianity, would a secular band, full of christian guys do that? They definitively are a christian band... stop denying it.
@behemothfan42 well of course metallica isnt gonna be nearly as heavy as metal bands now a days. when bands like metallica and slayer first came out, they were the heaviest thing around. and obviously metals progressed and become alot more heavy since than.
i like ABR not cause they are christian but by the skill and amazing work they have done the christain ppl need to stop shoving there religion in everyones face and shit i mean christian or not band is a band them being religious has nothing to do with it
@MisterFallout No it wasn't an opinion, you declared that "Christian bands are the best" and that is no opinion, that is you declaring fact. Which it isn't...So, lol stop trying to pretend like I'm the bad guy. All 39 people are most definitely christian.
ok ill be sincere im christian and im proud of being but i never find christian music that i like until i listened to abr which is a great band !!!!! ( im adventist of the seventh day and our music is really conservative)
you will never fly fast enough o make time stand still. Slow down and take your time. no matter what you cannot do the impossible, stop thinking of yourself as god because only he can make time stand still.
nooo dont download stuff like ad block its ads that let us use stuff like fb and youtube free the more ppl who use that ad blocking software the more likely u r to have to pay for these things
the thing cool when you listen ABR is that even if they strong christian there music don't have lyric to much engage ! so everyone can listen, Damn i don't want metal convert into gosspell !
@Lycanpaester also i want to mention that these lyrics are random at some parts and not fitting to the phrases before, but dont get me wrong.. theres no offense to this song or band, it's awesome
@MisterFallout Haha, I agree. Well actually I don't think that Slayer and Metallica are "horrible" but I definitely think that metalcore bands like ABR surpass them. They're just nowhere near as heavy.
we need you here more than anything.

can someone explain to me what this line means? "if everythings relative, then why the emptiness in our souls"
I think perhaps it lies on the underlying belief that belief itself is relative [and the many facets that constitutes said (relative) belief].

@mtndewman14 the best concert would be ABR opening for justin beiber with special guest lil weezy
Remember being 15 seeing them perform this 2011 Warped tour. Was in Florida, 100 degrees out, dusty mosh pit
ok ill be sincere im christian and im proud of being but i never find christian music that i like until i listened to abr which is a great band !!!!!
