So…I personally have not been a big metal fan…my brother in-law Rob was…August Burns Red was his absolute favorite! He was a tattoo fan as well…he had 2 sleeves both August Burns Red album covers…Constellations on one arm and Phantom Anthem on another…he disappeared a little over a year ago…we searched 24-7 for 6 weeks before his remains were found in a section of woods not far from where we had been searching…it was and is heart wrenching…he was loved and IS missed so painfully much…a few days ago August Burns Red was playing in Pensacola…from the moment my wife and I heard they would be playing we HAD to go…we bought VIP tickets so we could meet the band and tell them how much they meant to someone we loved and miss so much more than I can convey here…hearing his story they were truly touched…i have a tattoo combining two of Rob’s with the August Burns Red “U” and Meddler’s lyrics in memory of him…i had to opportunity to show the band and tell them about Rob and several took pics of it…they were incredibly attentive and sincere in their condolences…during the show they remembered the story and dedicated a set to Rob and his family that still mourns his loss…after the show Matt Greiner took the time to visit with my wife and at his suggestion said a prayer with her…I am still so impressed with the band…not only their musical talents, but their kindness and compassion…that night…those special moments have touched me so much. Thank you August Burns Red…you have a whole new fan base because of your caliber of character as much and more than your musical talents
This song, after hearing probably a thousands times, still gives me goosebumps every time. It's in my top 3 greatest hardcore songs ever made. It's flawless.
If you looked up the lerics then I think your perspective would change if you understood what he was saying. if you wan to some crazy satanic deathmetal then look up The Bride Wore Blood. I love them to.

"You will never fly fast enough to make earth stand still" Ever noticed that ABR always has that one rdiculously awesome line repeated a bunch in the outro of the song. ABR's outros are just always so glorious! Just a glorious band in general i suppose!
Don't worry about any particular church, you are the church. Your body is the temple. Music like this... the worship variety... awakens the conscience and your connection with God. Gratitude towards life and what you have been given (The body, capable of understanding) will help you understand that you are a beautiful being, regardless of what anyone has told you. We live among sad people, who do not fully understand what they could be. So worship how you choose to, if it glorifies the Lord, there is nothing better you could do. It doesn't matter if it's gospel, metal, hip hop or R&B. He understands and knows those that love Him.
ABR is the metalcore band that I connect with the most, despite their occasional Christian messages. Personally I don't care if people believe in a flying spaghetti monster (as long as they aren't inciting genocide or hatred etc), especially when they are able to create some of the most passionate, meaningful music I have heard. I wish I could thank them for the beautiful, heavy music they have given this world
I had the luxury of meeting these guys thanks to my wife!!! VIP in Toronto. I got to thank them personally, they helped me through the darkest of times. To me they are the Iron Maiden of metalcore. No matter what they play I will always love them.
One of those bands that has continued to push the envelope with their music! Kudos boys. This song never gets old. I found this album when I went to jrtc, listened to it every night, on replay. So good
For those who shun Christian metal, nothing in Bible against making music like this and uplifting the Lord at the same time. God tells us to make a beautiful noise in our singing and worship. I'm willing to bet God enjoys those that make music like this just as much as the original hymns.
This band has always been phenomenal, but this song (to me) is the landmark of where they started making their best music. This song (and album) are KILLER.
This is one of those songs that i listened at first and didn't like, but for some reason i listened the 2nd, the 3rd, the 4th and 5th time and finally liked it until i kept it on replay forever lol
That's really weird because that's how it was for me, too. This was actually the first ABR song I heard and I was like, "No, this is weird. Bye." But then I kept replaying cause there was SOMETHING about it. And then all of a sudden it just sounded awesome.
Timeless. What an era and I'm so proud to be a part of it. I was a teenager when this came out. This changed the game for me and always will be the best of times. 🤘
I don't play drums or anything but I still cannot comprehend how Matt plays on the toms and holds the backing beat all at the same time at 1:22. I've watched his play-through videos and it looks so easy yet sounds like he's got 4 arms.
It's easier than it seems once you can keep steady with a metronome with all 4 limbs. His legs and arms are all hitting the same amount of notes as eachother. His right hand alternates between his symbol and his Tom on every hit and his left hand looks like he's hitting his snare every 4 hits to his tom. Repeat while legs keep same steady beat
As far as the hands go, it's not THAT hard. Since the tom hits are in between the crashing and snare. Neither is the feet in comparison to even some slip knot songs. It's just a matter of learning what the rhythm is and practicing to get solid hits and then combining both top and bottom limbs. Granted it's still a bit of a struggle if this isn't your style of playing haha.

Never thought I’d hear a metal song about getting beat down by a 9-5 and still trying to have patience and love for your family. And it’s fucking class.
In my opinion Constellations will be their best album they have ever made and Meddler will be my favourite song until they make something as great as this or better not saying their other stuff is bad I still listen to all of their stuff heck they are one of my all time favourite bands but nothing else of theirs comes close to this song and this album.
Here's a recent story. I was going to see August Burns Red on there recent Frozen Flame Tour. When I was waiting on line there was a Woman hanging around handing out small little books. She was telling us we were all going to hell. Saying that this "Metal" is the Devil's ritual. Ranting on and on about those Bible verses and all that shit. I seriously wanted to tell her to please shut up and don't be ignorant. Since August Burns Red is somewhat of a Christan band. But I really did not want to say a damn thing. Knowing how most people are who take religion seriously. I decided to shut up and pray for her own ignorance. But other then that I had a fucking ball seeing ABR recently. I need to see them again soon after the new album is finished up.
Using metal (or any kind of music for that matter) to promote any kind of religion is of folk matter. Considering how much religions wanted to control what people where listening to in the past (yet still want to and failing at), it's pretty sad. Especially christianity. Not saying this song isn't musically good though. However, listening to Ensiferum or Týr would convince me more of a supernatural existence over August Burns Red (it does not anyway). This christian god or a viking god, what's the difference, really? Well, other than musical preferences... You're chill though. I personnaly would've made the lady shut up. ;)
I remember back in 2010 doing an art project and took inspiration from this music video with the black silhuets and changing them a bit. Ended up getting top marks and passing the class! Top marks and amazing music, best choice ever!

"You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still. Stop, listen and learn." Love this line so much.
This moment will too pass us by.
It's this notion inside all of us to prioritize through our selfish eyes.
To be the bull behind the rampage, the reason for all the riot.
We'll feed our flame before wasting time on everyone else's, with more problems and less pride.
We'll feed our flame before wasting time on everyone else's, the gallows were not supposed to look like this.
Oh God, we live in misery, lying here in desperation.
We need you here more than anything right now...right now.
If everything's relative, then why the emptiness in our souls?
If everything's relative, then why the emptiness in our souls?
Trying to untie the knot we thought we were untying our entire lives, we're busied up and burnt out..
Everyone together, we will strengthen ourselves.
Everyone together, we will strengthen ourselves.
Everyone together, we will strengthen ourselves.
We will.... Because now we know you won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn. Stop, listen, and learn.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn.
I unliked this so I could like it again
Simplemente ...este tipo de canciones no es para todos, es para lo pedros en cristo ...
Pocos entenderán...
Though I'm not a Christian per se, I love the fact that no one's going harder than a Christian band right now. These guys re absolutely killing it.
Never thought I’d hear a metal song about getting beat down by a 9-5 and still trying to have patience and love for your family.
And it’s fucking class.
with this song, i met this awesome and incredible band four years ago, still loving it.
2019 , always my favorite song
God I love ABR! Best band ever!!

One of the greatest metalcore songs ever made. It's flawless.

Best song in the world
In my opinion Constellations will be their best album they have ever made and Meddler will be my favourite song until they make something as great as this or better not saying their other stuff is bad I still listen to all of their stuff heck they are one of my all time favourite bands but nothing else of theirs comes close to this song and this album.
galfar9 Such truth.
Your profile picture is my favourite album.
It's like a boulder rolling down the hill!! The rumbling! Wall of sound hits you like shockwave every time!!!
One of the top metal songs of all time. So Intense and epic the whole time
Melhor banda do mundo
Its people like that lady that give a bad stereotype of Christians.
DraculaXHunter101 Not "Somewhat" Lol they're pretty devout! Good on you for praying for her though. Yeah ABR is NUTS.
***** I just wanted to be safe. But damn, Full time Christians and they make some of the best metalcore in the industry.
DraculaXHunter101 Seeing ABR live is more addictive than crack cocaine.
I personnaly would've made the lady shut up. ;)
Lol, in 2016, none of these guys look like they do here !
+Chirodip Basu I wonder if Matt will ever grow his hair back out like he had it in this video
awesomeguy5679 Seriously ! The vocalist even shaved his beard, and looks Uncle-ish.
Sounds great now though !
+Chirodip Basu time doesn't stand still my friend.
um JB........?
Jake is now fully bald, But that dude still has the most top notch vocals.
I remember back in 2010 doing an art project and took inspiration from this music video with the black silhuets and changing them a bit. Ended up getting top marks and passing the class! Top marks and amazing music, best choice ever!
at 1:28 gives me chills bro. Such an amazing song
