- The video combines both the day and twilight excelent flights of the Saab JAS-39 Gripen at Bucharest International Air Show 2018 in Romania.
From the minute 07:55 some fuel dump can be seen after the plane followed by a high speed pass with a very particular whistle sound that was new to me!

On the take off is the Hungarian airforce Gripen .
Canada should buy the Gripen E. It seems almost purpose built for our needs as an air force. Canada will never EVER be called upon the be a "first strike" force and stealth isn't the issue for us as it is for the U.S. The Gripen is a thoroughly modern fighter and is set to carry any nato weapon and integrate easily electronically within a battlefield. The fact that with Saab"s ties with bombardier (the Bombardier Global 6000 is their base for their reconnisance aircraft) we could actualy build them here is the final icing on the cake. The Gripen E for Canada!
That makes perfect sense, which is probably why it won't happen; the Gripen would be the perfect aircraft to operate out of remote airfields or even highways in northern Canada with minimum ground crew, that's exactly the kind of enviroment it was designed for.
Bram Curtis : You're right, but unfortunately logical thinking isn't common these days.
Imagine Avro and Bombardier (as you mentioned Saab and Bombardier has the joint venture GlobalEye which takes down any "stealthy" object in Hollywood) in full cooperation with Saab! Canada has much more in common with Sweden regarding being much less corrupt than USA and knowing the difference between human being and being human.
Canada could also use the submarine Gotland and the radar system Giraffe and have a very cost efficient and powerful defense system!
I googled why the Gripen wasn't welcome anymore to the Red Flag exercises after the Alaska results 2006. Gripen alone took out all other US fighter except the F-22. Notice this was with the old Gripen and without any external (Swedish GlobalEye or Giraffe) aid as US Air Force had of their awacs! The little fat assed duck F(ailure)-35 is obsolete and waste of money, but we all know how US corruption and warmongering work?

There are many more problems to be sorted out here in Canada before we consider a modern jet fighter. Our first problem is a ding dong Prime Minister and a seriously flawed electoral process. We could have been leaders in a number of areas if it weren't for inept governments that have been in place for decades. The Gripen is the product of successive technology that dates back to the 1940 s. Unfortunately Canada is no longer a viable player on the world stage.

Exactly, the plane comes in a flat package from IKEA and can be assembled in only 15 minutes! Batteries are sold separately.

You can't call it a good fighter until it gets into real fight and shoots the aircraft down.
@Martin Rivera, not 100% correct. Not always! it's also depends on pilot.. highly skilled. In real life fight skills & tactics also matters.
