I've been a big fan and follower of Mike since 1973,his music is timeless and cannot be put into a box to be labelled,I can honestly say that I have listened to Tubular Bells thousands of times and still each time I listen to TB, I hear something new.I am looking forward to hearing more new music from Mike
David I totally agree. His music is timeless and I love the fact that Mike has dabbled in so many genres. I don’t mind if he has retired, it appears that way. In 2023 will be 50 years and lovely new version of TB will come out. I feel sure the same will happen in 100 years when we are not here. He is for me a modern day Bach.
Great interview. Nice to see his realisation that the original TB is better for its imperfection and energy. And also admitting how easy it is to use a preset and some pads a stick a bit of guitar over it... but that it doesn't make for very unique or interesting music. Glad that he moved away from that stuff.
Poland Love Mike Oldfield ;-)

The Best Musikman of the world. Thank you for all the great records. I have all..
Very fine - thank you!
The original TB has a special, darkish character in its sound. The re-recorded version lost that totally. I guess others think similarly.
This is great!
Awesome thank you so much :)

The annoying background music sounds like what would be heard in a Chinese restaurant.
Thanks. What’s the background music.? When was this interview done?? Cheers
Sounds like this is sometime between the Light+Shade and Music Of The Spheres albums. So 2005...2007 or so.
