Put a 2nd gen swap on our 4th gen work truck setup for towing it’s been amazing the setup has about 180,000 miles on it and still runs like a champ with 300,000 on her.
As the owner of a '19 Ram, I always enjoy any 5th gen content I come across. Although I don't plan on getting rid of my vgt, this looks like a good mod and it sounds great!
Hydraulic lifters , no valve lash adjustment, steam ports on the block , back of the block , back of the head , I cant think of a thing that is the same
Ac lines, being aluminum, as long as you’re not repeatedly bending them back and forth repeatedly and fatiguing them, can be bent a bit to be pulled out of the way for clearance
Can you remove the front wheels and put the front end on Jack stands to lower the engine bay? Might help to position you and the engine better for the work your doing... just a thought... great videos, keep them coming... stay safe and God bless... David.
For the intake, get a banks 3.5'" intake horn powder coated from wcfab and the correct pre-bent (#1) injector line from scheids and get rid of that intake horn!
You need to put a heat boot on you turbo or over time it will degrade that harness and that will a huge job to replace that wiring loom . So good luck with you build. I want to do a 2 nd Gen swap on my 05 5.9 and it has to have a Sneed Speed exhaust mains fold and I think I will put in the upper position .
I did the best thing you can do I put a brand new 6.7 in my 05 Dodge 3500 4x4. The best thing is it goes by the year of the truck not the motor and this bad boy has absolutely no emissions because it’s a 05 and with few mods this bad boy makes a ton of horse power and is totally legal! and if you gut your cat it looks legal and when I get my inspection they always notice the 6.7 in a 05 and you get great fuel mileage and tons of power and torque and I just love this truck and I bought it new and went straight to Ziebart so there is no rust any where. And the crazy thing is that I have had 5 people that want my truck and if I have the window sticker they want to pay 1 grand more than what I paid for it when new . This is Laramie package with a 6 speed manual cast iron with a one piece alum 5” diameter which cured me of that shitty carrier bearing took 80% of vibration out and then I put a fluid damper and that got rid of a 100% of vibration and my 92 Dodge 2500 4x4 and truck had a harmonic balancer on the front of the drive shaft coming out of trans. I wish I could figure a way to put a fluid damper on my 05 and that would be the cats meow so if I can figure out how to do this I let you know. When I had a one piece drive shaft they could have fixed me right right up !
@@robertlockwood8856 what year of truck are u putting it on? I had to cut edge of heat exchanger mount off also move the heat exchanger mounting strap because it was hitting the compressor housing. Wasn't that big of a deal. My fuel mileage didn't really increase but its hard to keep.ur foot out of it. It just wants to go. Highest I seen my egts for far is 1100 degrees. Makes a world of difference for towing and daily driving
Asking for a friend.. Hypothetically, if someone were to buy a 6.7 3rd gen right now... what's the best option to "fix" the emission problems common on the pre-def 6.7s. My friend has been looking everywhere and can't seem to find the best way to go about doing said "fix" Not the EPA I promise!

Big job, it’s bolt on Darryl. But these are issues with the newer design. I feel you shoulda done some research prior just winging it & being told what to look for after valve train was loose. Good content on what not to do or when to take steps prior to…. If you could stay busy and not edit out the actual job I’d say we’d see you were walked trough this job by other techs vs trying convince us you were the diagnostics & the tech guy on this job. Why else would you have fooled with intake pipe for 2 hours before finding out it wasn’t gonna ride , cmon guy. maybe if you weren’t to busy thinking you were the man you’d see your own boyz ain’t feeling your goofy azz downplay their rides 19:55

Female that came walking up towards the end definitely needs on the channel more definitely needs some camera time every guy and half the women watching enjoy a beautiful woman just as much as trucks good way to get some channel growth

Clean truck and build. Should’ve used the diesel power source turbonator. It would spool faster

I put the crazy Carl compund kit on my 96 12v. I use a s475 with a 1.15 housing with a 63/65/12 tater built turbo on top
