if you jump into Santana's rabbit hole you'll never want to get out, trust me. Alex Ligertwood on vocals on this song. They've had many great singers over the years. Brightest Star next by them 🌟
Santana has collaborated with so many amazing musician's over his career "Black Magic Woman" (US #4), "Oye Como Va", "No One To Depend On" and "Evil Ways". were all sung by Gregg Rolie who left the band to form Journey with Neil Schon who was also in the band. "Winning" and "Hold On". was sung by Alex Ligertwood. Winning is one my favorites. His catalog is definitely worth listening. Carlos Santana is an amazing guitarist I havent heard another player life him. Well respected by his peers. What a legend.
@@tammiec4937 Oh my god. I'm so so sorry. I'm crying right now. I lost a brother as well, so I know that pain. I was much older than 16 though, and we knew he was going to pass. I'm not saying that makes it any easier. I'll bet he influenced you musically? I don't know how much older he was. I have always loved Journey. Hey, it's kinda cool that our mom's spelled our names the same way! I hope you have a great day wherever you are. I'm just about 15 minutes outside of downtown St. Louis, Missouri. Take good care and hope to see you in the chats!
Santana had many vocalists over the years from the very beginning in the late sixties but they all were incredible and the only thing that NEVER changed was Mr Carlos Santana's incredible songwriting and guitar playing! He's phenomenal!
🎸💯 Santana has always been a 🐐‼🔥 You've chosen a VERY DEEP rabbit hole to check out‼I'm loving this music all over again & your Santana reactions are dope, Biz‼🤯 ☮ ❤ 🎶
Oye Como Va, and Evil Ways are both good for next up. I saw these guys at an outdoor venue that was set up for plays. There were so many instruments playing that I literally had tears well up in my eyes. It was an amazing experience! Santana has so much to listen to from decades to now. Jump into the rabbit hole!
I watched this live in the royal Albert hall in London on the shango tour it was my first Santana gig happy days . all my best to you and yours from Liverpool
You need to check out “Europa” from the Sacred Fire: Live In South America album. Amazing,,, and no need to chess the lyrics.. the only singing is done by Carlos’ guitar.
Santana had different line ups . This was his late 70s early 80s lineup . Alex Ligenwood was the lead singer at that time . He ran with Santana for 23 yrs .
In the last 20 years there have been a lot of guest vocalists but in the first years he had vocalists that were members of the band for different lengths of time.
Biz! Check out 'JINGO' next- Is an Afro-Cuban/Rumba/Rock fusion [reminded by DJs many times in the 70s] > will hit your Caribbean spirit like 'Soul Sacrifice', 'Bk Magic Woman' etc. Aside f/talented C. Santana's unique sound is undeniable.
This CD is great Listen to brightest star , somewhere in heaven, listen to his first seven albums and keep go on swing of delight CD jazz He had many singers Buddy Miles listen to 83or 85 in Berlin live to the song Praise your hairs in back of your neck and arm will stand , so much to see live concerts and recordings
Will be seeing Santana with Earth Wind and Fire in a couple weeks. Biz you see the comments. This is a deep rabbit hole. But hey do me a favor and check out the song Winning by Santana.
Wow Biz, you hit my favorite album of all time. Yes, a 70s-80s kid on the way. That's not the same singer from Black Magic Woman, that was Gregg Rollie, and this is Alex Ligertwood, a tiny Scottish man with seriously killer pipes. Cheers brother.🤘
I feel like this song either was, or should've been, in the movie Scarface. It's funny. I consider myself a big Santana fan but I only know their pre 80s stuff. Really just their first four or so studio albums and Caravanserai (probably misspelled). The latter is a masterpiece that you kind of have to listen to all at once. The other funny thing is that I can't recall the titles of that many of their songs. There are so many on just their first three albums that are way better than the radio standards Evil Ways, Oye Como Va,, and even Black Magic Woman (which is still pretty awesome). Keep pulling songs from their early albums if you want to be blown away. Think...more songs in the Soul Sacrifice vein, but some with lyrics. That's what you'll find.
You're thinking of black magic woman that was way back in 1969 and yes he's had multiple singers over the years he writes all the songs but rarely sings but plays the FUCK out of that guitar! Nobody like that man!

@@tammieparrishmiller3669 I'm a huge music fanatic. I used to manage a music store too.
I’m also a huge fan of Journey. Also my older brother listened to some cool music. He passed away when I was 16.
@@tammiec4937 That would have been so much fun...well, maybe. Being surrounded by all of it would most likely have me spending half my paycheck!

Another smooth one from Santana. Don't know if I've ever heard this before. Now I have to try and find this CD.

Nice pick! Have you covered the track -Who Loves You- from the album: Beyond Appearances? I'd recommend you check that one out! It's fast and furious.
I’ll bet the producer back in the late 6o’s that told Carlos he needed to keep his day job kicked himself every day for years.
He features different singers.... monster player
This was written by 🇨🇦 singer, awesome song writer Ian Thomas

Multiple vocalists over the years.
Winning is another great one.
That’s mediocre for Carlos
Brother please let the music play through then comment on it
honestly never new this was a Santana song. should've at least figured it out when the solo kicked in!
It's a crap album probably their worst. Yet, their version of What Does It Take is a classic cover..
Junior Walker's song.
Zebop.
Your nuts . It’s an amazing album!
How good is Carlos Santana? Name another band whose lead namesake doesn't sing.
The Derek Trucks Band.....more than worth a listen!
@@mrnobody9104 Yup, I thought of him, but he married Susan Tedeschi who sings.
