Suoxin finding happiness and peace with a good man is so poetic. It's like a piece of Ruyi's hope got to live on.
Li Yu is so obviously in love with Suoxin, but he doesn't envy Jiang Yubin when he asked for her hand. Rather, he charged the doctor to take good care of her. So selfless and kind.
Magnificent actor and handsome too. Is he in any other movies/shows?
LiYu was a eunnuch, he knew he will not be able to give her children.

It's very saddening that he really likes Suoxin, but he is a eunuch and had undergo castration that's why.
So symbolic: Ruyi being a highest-ranking concubine ( imperial noble consort) is yet a prisoner of the palace. She cannot go further like being on an invisible leash while her former maid is free to go wherever she wants...
I'm sorry that Li Yu couldn't be with her. He was happy to let her go for her safety even though it hurt him inside. This is probably one of the few love hinges that I adore
It’s also bc she turned him down. She knew he liked her and said a few things about loving children and wanting them in the future which he can’t give her and he understood the message but still chose to help and protect her

He loved her in such a pure way. The doctor did as well, and it was wonderful to see that they both knew it but still always put her first.

This is one of my favorite scenes. The doctor is so in love with her and without any doubts he will protect her with all his heart and might! Her beautiful gentle being is a true reflection of her mistress and their relationship, unspoken words of unconditional love, loyalty, devotion and the utmost respect with each other is profound
She accompanied Ruyi through a lot of pain, and finally became the happiest person, I am very happy

It's beautiful that Suoxin got her loving doctor but my heart aches for Li Yu. He's My favorite character 😭
Yeah, he was mine too. He protected ruyi forever, all because of her kindness to him whe he was just a trainee. He knew then she was a good person. But oh my i wish that he hadn't become a eunoch and had been a doctor too instead, then he could've been with Suoxin. His segment at the end of thismclip makes me cry every time I watch it. Those that were loyal to ruyi was as good souls as she was. Unlike the emperor, who poisoned everything he touched.
@@troublemcallister730 Souxin would still likely have gotten with Jiang as he was the one she loved the most between the two of them. Though since the three of them came from the same village and knew each other well enough it was obvious to Jiang what Li meant by "You must take care of Souxin" and why he gives such a serious nod.
It's not a nod of a doctor doing his job. Its an understanding between two men who love the same woman.

@@shanelbryant5638 marrying a eunnuch means no biological children. You have to adopt.
I believe people like Suoxin, when they got out of the palace, they would hold quite a high status in the community. They become VIP. It's like in modern day where a woman married to a high level doctor, and highly respected by other people. And Suoxin was probably happier outside the palace with her own husband and kids, living a rich and prosperous life.

Not to mention, Doctor Jiang vowed Suoxin would be his one and only wife! He probably could have taken more wives, but he refused. He loved her so much.

Suoxin was the happiest and luckiest lady in this series, her loyalty and sincerity for Ruyi was rewarded by Ruyi more lavishly than anything materialistic ever could; although she's not much regarded by the emperor, he acknowledged her importance and initially wanted to give her a higher marriage status; the harem (the non-evil ones) were always trusting, sweet, and gentle with her, regardless of whether she was with Ruyi because they weren't like that with Aruo; two high quality men loves her with their whole heart; she got married to a man who loves only her and devoted to only her in a time when men with any type of status usually have a few wives
Suoxin was set free in the best way possible, in the best time possible too, so that Ruyi can find her tank. Ruyi needs someone like Rongpei by her side to face what will happen after this

The emperor certainly was generous in his wedding gifts for Suoxin and Jiang Yubin; furniture, clothes,money,jewelry etc. Suoxin got the best ending of all the women. She was able to marry the man she loved, settle down an live well outside the forbidden city. Ruyi, for all her jewellery, beautiful Palaces and fine clothes is basically a prisoner. Even when she dies,she'll be buried inside the grounds of the forbidden city.
ruyi wasn't. at the end of it she wasn't granted royal titles in her death and wasn't burried where the deceased empresses were. there many speculations regarding the reasons why emperor qianlong destroyed her documentations (painting etc.) but in the drama it was depicted as his way of honoring her wish to be free of him in her death
Ruyi made sure her loyal servant Suoxin will live happily and peacefully away from the indifference of Yuxin Palace and Harem.

That look of Ruyi to Li Yu says everything.
She’s the sole character that got her happy ending while alive.
The only other two would be Rongpei who desired to live and die at ruyi's side and did, and in the novel Consort Wan, because the emperor finally at the end made *her* the new imperial noble consort ((Which she was adored for by everyone)) and actually paid attention to her, even being floored by all the pictures she drew of him throughout his life.
This incident with suoxin was what made ruyi be more upset and disappointed with the emperor. He sacrificed suoxin for ruyi but obviously ruyi didn’t agree and emperor was too stupid to care.
Yea. His logic, while accurate, is still BS. He knew if they tortured Souxin, and she said nothing, then everyone would HAVE to settle for the fact that it was all crap to begin with. But he didn't even focus on the evidence at hand and why shit went sideways the way it did with Ruyi having to swap the evidence in order to save souxin instead of believing that a BUDDIST MONK would never have gone after a consort to beginw ith.
Liyu gave her his whole retirement. Can't tell me he ever stopped loving her.

Li Yu loved Suoxin so much, he let her go because living in the palace is a death sentence. Anyone who escapes from there, is bond to be happier.

I love that all the sweethearts turned out for the ceremony. And it's not like Ruyi was banishing Souxin from the palace either, she even invited her to return when she can for visits. I loved Souxin and her sweet nature. She literally was so loyal to Ruyi that even the Emperor valued her, and gave permission for her to marry well. A rare thing in the Forbidden City.
This scene is my favourite and it makes me cry because its so beautiful
Don't get me wrong, dust entered my eyes 😭. Suoxin is way too beautiful than those consorts (even Ruyi). I am so glad she is not historically and in drama, entangled with the harem and the emperor. Bless her and her husband!
At least one of them, ruyi and suoxin, got their happy ending and spent their life with the person they love TTATT
I will soon watch this series from the start. But I believe Li has feelings for the bride; and wants only for her happiness.

@@paulabusilac4344 Souxin has always loved Jiang more than Li and Li knew he had no chance because Souxin has always wanted to become a mother. It's why she's so doting over the Emperor's children- even the ones Ruyi doesn't raise.

This has to be one of the saddest Chinese historical series I have ever watched. Ruyi cut all ties at the end. She was the only one that truly loved that man. She had enough. It was her choice to be erased from history and wanted her son to be free.
My heart 💔 for Li Yu. He loved Suoxin.
