Rongpei is absolutely my all time favorite maid in all dramas. She is assertive, quick, smart, mature and no nonsense trustworthy person. I hate maids that boot lick around their masters all day long, some of them are loyal but spiritually weak, naive and if strong willed but evil!

The Empress Ruyi is a grown ass woman. 👸🏽 In tarot, the Empress is all of the queens energy combined, Empress has had to endure a whole lot of treachery and heartbreak to arrive at the throne. Why she has compassion on her subjects because she knows their dreams and ambitions like hers. She also knows that those ambitions out of control can destroy you. She’s trying to temper, not hurt though it may be painful.

其實她原先是很有機會站如懿這邊的 從如懿做貴妃的時候就一直示好 只可惜如懿為著她辜負凌雲徹而一直不肯領受 而無所依靠又曾受不少折磨的衛也越來越扭曲 最後越走越偏
除了貞淑被遣返，嘉貴妃在宮中再無依靠之外，最主要的是她年紀逐漸大了，能夠為王爺爭取的利益越來越少，懷孕的機會也越來越低，皇帝再寵幸她也沒多少年了，偏偏前面她用的那種暗中布局、專門教唆別人的戰術屬於慢熱的長期戰。

So happy for Souxin. She deserved all that Ruyi graced her with. If A'Rou would have stayed loyal, Ruyi would have granted her the same. In the last scene. Ling Fei is me all day. The look you give when some is getting what they deserve. Even tho she was a savage Ling Fei played a great Villain.
I think she is Concubine Ling at that time (Ling Ping)
Suoxin was truly loyal, caring, and selfless, and she totally deserved everything good Ruyi gave her! I am also so happy that when Suoxin left the palace, it was someone like Rongpei, with the same honest and steadfast character, who took her place. She, too, was just as good to Ruyi as she deserved!
(Btw which one is Ling Fei? They change name so much I get a bit confused sometimes 😅)

Rongpei kicks ass, I love her. I've just started watching these clips and I'm just blown away by them. The sets, the wardrobe, the hair and makeup, everything is so lush and beautiful. There are so many details. The characters are very interesting and the actors are fantastic. O, and if the brat doesn't want the carnelian earrings she can pass them my way. They're gorgeous. I could absolutely dare to wear such luxurious earrings!
The costumes, props, and scenes of this drama are all exquisite👍

En verdad no hay textos históricos que expliquen como era realmente Ruyi, porque enojo tanto al emperador que este mando a borrarla de la Historia, por eso los escritores de Novelas utilizan ese vacio Histórico para usarlo en las novelas :) en el Dorama del Palacio de Yanxi es muy diferente el personaje Histórico

Having Rongpei replacing Suoxin is like having a pit bull replacing a chihuahua.
The metaphor does good in terms of image-building, since Ruyi is set to be empress and needs more no-nonsense sternness to balance out her gentle kindness.
But if you rewatch the drama and study it closely, Suoxin is much more clever and cunning compared to Rongpei, who is just blunt and straightforward. In this war where maids play a part in most of the inter-harem battles, there’s a reason why both Ruyi and Jia were winning in the first half: they both had clever, cunning maids as co-conspirators until the maids’ retirement (Suoxin got happily married while Jia’s maid Zhenshu got deported back to her homeland).
