  • After completing the build of my CNC plasma cutting table, I received my first order...for a 7 key keyholder. The customer wanted a personalised keyholder for her husband, and the design included the Holden emblem, as well as his name included.
This video takes you through the design, cutting, cleaning and painting process that I used to create my 1st sale.
If you would like to purchase one of these keyholders, or any other design....either something you have, or something I can help you with, please get in touch here, or via email, it's: rmhyde58@gmail.com
If you liked the video, please give it a Thumbs Up. If you would like to subscribe to the channel, please hit the Subscribe button and ring the bell icon to be notified of upcoming videos.
If you would like to see the 6 part series on how I built my CNC plasma cutting table, there's a link to the playlist at the end of the video.
Thanks for watching and we'll see you in the next video.

Good luck with the plasma table build...it's always satisfying to build it yourself. Someone put me onto cleaning vinegar and it works great....gives a nice clean base to paint over.

Have you thought about exchanging the torch by a mill? I think, your construction is rigid enough!

Yeah, I tend to over-engineer things that I build! At least I know it's not going to move around too much.

Congratulations on the work coming in, wish you great success! Here in the USA they sell a paint called hammer tone; if it’s a available too you it would look great on that type of project. Thanks for the great videos!

Another thought that might interest you. A channel named, that shop teacher guy, has a video on building a finger brake. It’s a very nice one and would be a good project on your new plasma table. Free plans as well. Good luck with you Rusty!

Thanks Frank, I've heard of the paint so I'll check out the paint shop and see if I can locate some. If so, then I'll definitely give it a try.

I see no insulation on the shed walls, It's not uncommon here in Colorado to see -20 to -40 * F temps in the winter.

      @RustysMetalCutSignsDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Even in winter, we don't see temperatures anywhere near 0C (32F)....in summer (like, now) it's not uncommon to be up over 40C (105F).

    • @RustysMetalCutSignsDesigns

These are the major components that I purchased for my CNC plasma cutting table build...all sourced from eBay.
      1. 4 axis CNC kit. I bought the 4 axis kit because my table runs 2 stepper motors on the Y axis. Search for this: 4 Axis CNC Kit 3Nm Nema 23 Stepper Motor 4.2A & Driver DM556T & Power Supply
      2. Linear rails..the ones I bought were 1500mm long. Search for this: Linear Guide Rail 2PCS HGR20 200mm-1700mm + 4PCS HGH20CA Slider Block For CNC
      3. Ball screws...the ones I bought were 1500mm long and 1605 (16mm diameter and 5mm pitch...ie. the nut travels 5mm per 1 revolution of the ballscrew). Search for this: Ball Screw SFU1204 SFU1605 SFU2005 End Machined BallScrew W Single Ballnut CNC
      4. Motion controller and plasma interface unit. I purchased the 'MyPlasm CNC' system, made by Proma Elektronika in Poland. It is simple in its operation and doesn't require complex g-code to operate....all it needs is a toolpath from a .dxf file. The software program and operations manual are available from their website (www.proma-elektronika.com/do-pobrania/). I couldn't buy the MyPlasm CNC motion controller and plasma interface unit from their website because they were out of stock. On their 'Shopping' tab (www.proma-elektronika.com/do-pobrania/) they list a network of dealers around the world, who sell their products.
I bought my motion controller and plasma interface unit from a company in the USA called Automation Technology Inc (their website is: www.automationtechnologiesinc.com/). They sell both the Myplasm CNC Controller and the Proma Plasma Interface unit and you need both units.
      5. 24VDC 3 amp power supply to power up the MyPlasm CNC controller. Search for this: NEW AC 240V To DC 5V/12V/24V 1A~100A Switch Power Supply Adapter For LED Strip
      6. Aviation plugs: I used these between the side of my electrical cabinet and the field devices, like the stepper motors, proximity switches, etc. Search ebay for this and choose the number of pins you need. I used 4 pin plugs and sockets for my proximity switches and 5 pin plugs and sockets for my stepper motors. GX12 GX16 GX20 2-15Pin Aviation Plug Socket Male Female Connector Panel Metal
      7. Shielded cable: I bought 2 pair shielded cable and that runs from the plug on the side of the electrical cabinet to the field devices, like the stepper motors and proximity switches. The reason for the shielded cable is to reduce or eliminate any Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) that's produced by the plasma cutter. EMI is the enemy of any CNC controller and it can cause it to do some weird things. Pilot arc start machines are much better than the high frequency start machines, as they're the ones that produce a lot of EMI. Leave the shield wire disconnected at the field end but connect the shield at the cabinet end, to a common busbar or earth point. Then connect the mains earth to the common earth point.
      8. NPN type proximity switches for your homing switches. They must be NO (normally open) NPN type (negative - positive - negative....and it's specified in the MyPlasm CNC operations manual. These are 3 wire units and operate off 24VDC from the MyPlasm Controller. You might find a better deal if you bought a bundle, rather than individual ones, as you'll need 4 if you run 2 motors on your Y axis. Search for this: LJ12A3-4-Z/CX Inductive Proximity Sensor Switch NO+NC NPN DC6-36V D12mm
      9. Incidentals like electrical enclosure, cable crimps, drag chain, emergency stop switches, etc. can all be sourced from eBay.
You will need a laptop or a desktop computer loaded with the software, to talk to the controller module (whichever one you purchase).

Hi Naoufel and yes, I am using the MyPlasm CNC controller and plasma interface unit from Proma Elektronika. My plasma cutter is a Razor Cut 45...it's made by Jasic and marketed in Australia under the Unimig brand.
I'm still learning how to use my table and have only cut 1.6mm mild steel and 3mm aluminium....never cut stainless steel yet.

I don't have much experience with plasma cutters. The one I have is the 1st one I've ever owned. A lot of people swear by the Hypertherm brand but I know they are quite expensive. I suppose it depends on how much work you're doing as to which plasma cutter you buy.
